"II'd like that." Smiling shyly. "He won't hurt you, Mykorian. He might not approve of you but that's only because of something that happened when he was a great deal younger that soured him on surface elves ever after. He doesn't' trust them. I know you're not, per se, a surface elf, but he disagrees." Snapping her fingers at that and then grinning. "Darn. I'm pretty sure I could beat you now, though."
"I have to let the idea ferment for a while first. It has to be exactly what I want it to be and that takes time." One thing she did have faith in her was her skill as an artist. She'd been taught the basics of coloring and such by an Andallian and he made beautiful works. Of course she hadn't been counting on others to like her paintings as well. "There's plenty of time for that anyway. We need to get it built before I can throw paint on the walls."
"I'm not thrilled with her going offplane but I don't have any objections to it. You are much better off than you were, say five years ago, and I think you can handle a trip. I'll send some different things with you to ensure if anything happens you are prepared. And that goes for all of you. Kaelin, you've been on the surface before so that shouldn't be a problem. Is the weather much like Andal's, Malik?"

"Yeah yeah I know, my blood is all mixed up and crazy and I have a surface last name." Laughing however as the subject changed. "You could probably beat me in your sleep these days. Besides, I'm hardly in practice anymore."
"That we do. And you should paint it before we move into it as well. Granted I would move heavy furniture around for you, but I don't think my shoulders could handle doing it every few hours or days."
Kieran merely smirked and gave a fond look to his wife before sideglancing Malik. "No worries, I have a wife for a reason...and rune mages tend to have their own leashing methods easily enough. I may scream and such like a child for a bit but eventually I'd learn to be quiet and scream happily in my head only.

"It varies, depending on where you are and when it is. Everfrost, for example, is a frozen tundra, thus it's always cold. Greater and lesser fay are temperate forests and have annual seasons...not once every four years but like every three or some months a year. the commonlands aroudn freeport are a savanna, and around qeynos is a plain...so lots of different climates."

She laughed, delighted with his quick will to admit the truth even though she was a female and some males took the fact that she could beat them as an insult. "That's really not good. You should be practicing every day so you can defend yourself if the need arises. Are you still handy with a sword or other weapon?"
"Once I paint I don't believe I'll be repainting it anytime soon. But I agree with your thoughts on that. We don't even have furniture yet so that ought to make it easy. Are you having that built as well?"
"Then you will need medicines to cope with such things. I'll be sure to add them into the crates I'll be sending with you." She'd finished eating and stood then, gesturing to Piper. "Whenever you're ready, I'll see you."

"Still the best I can be with my batons adn throwing knives. Take them out with me when I go out. I just haven't been keeping up with my magic at all. By the time I'm done doing things all I really want to do is rest rather than train myself."
"We can shop around and then get things built if we don't like anything or just get everything custom made if that pleases you more." Yes he was letting her be completely creative artsy and such with the house.
"Did you hear that...she's going to send a crates with us." Piper gave an amused laugh to that and a light shake of her head. And yet that was the truth of the matter now wasn't it? "Well, let's get this over with." Getting herself up and heading off with Zahara.

"there better not be crates. She's not that fragile...or do you want me to ship her in a crate as well? we'll give her a rebreather and box her in padded silk."
crossing his arms lightly before nodding to his wife and letting her go get checked...and back to finishing off his food.

"I suppose I don't feel as bad knowing that you at least can defend yourself." She decided right then to test his word on that front but wouldn't reveal such a thing to him now. He'd merely find out when it happened so she could be assured of his safety. He was her dearest, if not only, friend and she knew she'd be very upset if anything happened to him. "Magic isn't as indispensable as some think. Daddy talks about a time when magic was wiped off this plane completely."
"You're letting me make that decision?" That surprised her slightly but pleased her as well that he would trust her with such a monumental task. Of course he probably intended to put in his feelings and desires in the matter; after all, he had to sit and sleep on the furniture himself. "Now I'm just excited."
Zahara rolled her eyes. "The crates are for your inability to plan a length of time you intend to be gone, D'vinn. I'm sending medical for every member you plan to take and that's quite a bit." Piper's exam took longer than any of the others since Zahara couldn't be content with using her power alone. Piper's body wasn't as hale as her children's either. Inside she was still bearing the effects of being ravaged by Savryn's birth and Zahara had to be careful lest her power try to take on more than it could handle and put her out of commission. "No more odd twinges or pain, Piper? And that salve I gave you last was enough to take care of the pain from the cramps you were experiencing?"

"Yeah but at the same time there are people and creatures that just can't use magic and they get along without it just fine. Sure, I'm sure some of us would have trouble unless they were around others that were used to such things. Can't really depend on any one thing these days."
"Yes I am. All yours to make." Khai smiled at her unspoken and spoken excitment over the matter. Besides, the more she could make decisions without him to do it all for her, the better she'd learn that he wasn't the be all and end all of some things.
Piper had her own personal laugh over crate discussion but soon enough she was trying to be a good patient. She complained less these days and tended to let Zahara do as needed with little fuss. "No and yes. I've been feeling pretty grand the last few months. I'm hoping that continues because I am very tired of this random bad day good day thing."

Malik was paying careful attention to his children. his daughter and his youngest son in particular, but also his oldest and his new wife.lightly leaning back in his seat and resting his arms on the arm rests, keeping quiet and observing. Maybe see if the talk he and dhairiss had actually sunk in any.

"Doesn't mean we're advocating for a reduction of magic. I'd be helpless if such a thing did happen." Giving him a sly grin and settling back down on his couch. "You know, you can tell me to go home at anytime. I'll listen and let you get on with your day."
She rather liked the thought of that even though having such a monumental decision entrusted to her was also kind of scary. What if she picked something Malikhai really didn't like? It was important that he be comfortable and such too. She'd eaten her fill and stood up then gave Khai a kiss on the cheek. "I think I'm going to go lay down. I'm not feeling really well all of a sudden."
"Good, that's what I've been hoping to hear for a while now. You're just not an easy case, Piper, but you knew that already." Zahara gave a nod and made a note in her book then tucked a stray hair of Piper's behind her ear. "It's time to do your hair again. You know, that's something you could introduce to Kaelin. Or have Malikhai do it. I bet she'd like it."

"You wouldn't be helpless." He shook his head with a laugh at her. "Tell you to leave? What happened to rebelling and staying here until your mother came and got you herself? This is why you're bad at the rebelling thing. Have to stand your ground on these kinds of things. Or are you looking for an excuse to get back home to that training room of yours?"
He blinked and gave her a questioning look but she seemed fine enough. "Alright, call for me if you need me." Letting her go off then and taking survey of the table. His grandparents were busy listening and eating and turning occassional glances down the table to the very place his father was looking and that turned his attention there as well. Which would be Dhairiss and Savryn who were both goofying off some. Dhairiss was trying to get her to eat the things she normally wouldn't by saying it was something different and she wasn't falling for it but instead of annoyed she seemed happy to be foiling his plans. How cute. He cleared his throat. "So are we just talking about this or are we really going to eventually go?"
"If I was an easy one to deal with, no one's life would be as fulfilling as it is now. That's my excuse and I'm going to stick to it." Angling eyes up as if to look at her hair even if she wasn't going to see what Zahara was pointing out. She gave a snicker though, "If someone else touched my hair, Malik may keel over. Granted, I would let her help but chances are she'll be too nervous. Then if the worst happens, she ends up spilling on me and I get to deal with that and then she'll be so upset that she'll never get over it for years."

"Yes, we'd be going. I know there are people you've met from Norrath already, many aren't those you like. Rainmare, Cymarron, Cerrillia and Valten. But we'll see how things go. you've been to Andal and now you get to go to Norrath."
watching both of them a moment and letting Dhairiss have his fun for now.

"Oh wonderful...all my favorite people." Sarcasm was quite clear in his voice over the matter. He really hoped that they didn't run into any of those people. He was glad to have them behind him. But a look down to his siblings as Savryn gave a laugh and Dhairiss gave a slightly disturbed noise, his eyes flashing over green. "She's getting that fast."
Okay so she found it a bit funny. But turnabout was fair play as her mother often said. Thusly it was a few missed grabs at another piece of food that she knew Dhairiss isn't favor just by the smell of it rather than knowing what it was using his eyes. Identification probably needed to be high on the priority list. But just as he had been trying to get her to eat things she was trying to do the same to him. "It's a carrot." And she wasn't letting him reach to feel either, batting at his hands. In fact, it was a rather hot chili that had been garnish but she knew you could eat it too.
Of course he was going to go with her game but with his sense of smell not as sharp as hers and her refusing to to let him touch he was forced to go with the game. It probably wasn't a carrot but hey, he probably deserved the turnabout. "If it's somehting nasty, I'm coming after you." Promptly making a face at the taste of chili in his mouth and it was not pleasant. Probably not good for chest pain either but that was everything right now. "Ack Savryn, that's just low."
"I don't like celery." Stated in tit-for-tat manner. Because that's what he had been trying to get her to eat.
Kieran and Fianna couldn't help a laugh as well to that little display before Fianna turned her attention over to Malik. "Malik, Piper said you were looking into getting a bird for Savryn?"

"I think I would. I bet you could beat me easy with my natural fighting skills. I haven't practiced in so long..." Shaking her head and then reaching out and giving him a playful punch. "That's just mean, Mykorian. You know I don't have one of my own yet. I have to borrow Daddy's."
Zahara nodded and then stepped back for a moment, crossing her arms. "Well, perhaps you should invite her to pick a color for her own. She's an artist and she'd probably appreciate the ability to express herself. Plus you two can bond. As her mother-in-law, it's important that the two of you have a good relationship, you know."
She made it up the stairs with no problem but her head was pounding by that point. Leaning against the wall, she caught her breath as the pain intensified and then she unceremoniously crumpled to the floor.
Hearing the dull thud, Zahara left Piper's side for a moment and glanced out in the hallway then frowned. "Malikhai!" Stepping over, she checked the girl's pulse and waited a few beats. "Piper, was Kaelin coming to see me?"
