"Your father wants to take you to his home plane." Returning to her food seeing as Piper and Malik were now in discussion and he'd moved off of her.

"There are some animals of legend that are quite the sight to behold. Quillmane, for example. and I can already feel the drool forming in your father's mouth."

"Undo each other's work hm? I suppose that's the flaw in the magic? I mean magics themselves can be tricky to cancel and counter, but if you all know exactly what the other is doing and how to undo it, it's so much easier to cancel."
"To Norrath?" Though from the way his parents were talking he had the feeling that 'you' meant 'everyone in the family'. Kaelin just didn't think that way. "I'm up for a Norrath trip." Grinning as his father was expanding and then looking to Kaelin again. "Imagine painting something like that." Sacred beasts and what not, what a treat.
"Amusing for you. You weren't the one being chased around." So it seemed it would be a mostly surface bound trip, not that she'd mind venturing underground to remote place...just not Neriak. "Well then...if you'd like to go, I say we go." That in mind, she turned a look to Zahara. "I guess that means you're going to have me well prepared for planes travel." Which she hadn't done since before Savryn was born.
Kieran had to give a laugh though as he was pointed out. "Guilty as charged. Come now, you know I can't help myself when it comes to such things. I'm like a little elf just learning the wonders of something new. Though I'm a gentleman...therefore I'll keep my drool to myself."

"And the very reason why my father refuses to teach anyone else. it's his defense system and he can't have someone being able to undo his defenses unless he trusts them like he does me. I'd never hurt anyone in my family and he knows it." Flexing her fingers then and giving him a smile. "But even if there was someone who wanted to learn, they'd likely give up before too long. I'm about to enter the next step in my own training and I don't even know for sure if I'll be able to stay devoted to it."
Sounded like it was more or less decided from that point of view, didn't it? "When would we be going? Khai and I were going to start building our house and we did just get back from Andal." Not that she objected, it was just something she was putting out there.
"I hope that means you understand you can't leave tomorrow if that was your plan. It's going to take me some time to get things ready and such for that type of thing. And I have to determine you are strong enough to withstand such things." Glancing at Kieran and Fianna. "Are you two tagging along as well?"

"Well I hadn't planned on it anytime directly soon. just that I had been planning for it. just the idea of a bit more family time to let my new daughter in law get to know me a bit better coming up I thought it might be a good idea."
giving a hint of a smirk to Zahara.
"you really think I'd try to sneak piper out past you? I wouldn't be surprised if by now she has some kind of secret rune etched in half her clothes just in case I did."

"I still don't get that whole training system at all. I just know it takes forever." Though he tilted his head at her in questioning boyish fashion, "The way you say it, it sounds like the next level is a bad thing. What happens?"
"Planning and when he plans he takes forever to make sure there's little to no hitches in his grand master scheme of things." Resing his hand on Kaelin's, giving her a smile. "No worries, that means we'll have plenty of time to do our own things. And even if we leave when they're still building it will be ready and waiting when we get back."
"I'm merely going to continue to call you all loving instead of overly paranoid and protective of me. Makes me feel better." She really didn't like the constant tabs that were always kept on her but there wasn't much she could do...maybe in another ten years her health would be back to where it was before she even had kids. But right now, there were still good days and bad days. More good than bad though.
Kieran and Fianna exchanged a look before he gave a grin. "I don't see why not...after all, the plane isn't really our problem anymore." Fianna still had some more hand in it than he did, but she was training a future royal that was also trying to be a master rune mage. "And as I heard it Luccaydyn needed a good long rest from his regular lessons till his body catched up."

"Many many years and a lot of study and hard work." She was well acquainted with what the probable steps were going to be, but as her father had explained to her, some rune mages progressed faster than others because of their ability to harness, control, and release their energy or build it back up. "Conditioning which means I bleed and bleed pretty constantly, too."
"That would work quite well. We could finish and finalize the plans and give them to whomever is going to be building the actual house and when we did come back, we could just move right in. I'd probably like that better than waiting day after day for it to be built."
"No, you wouldn't but it's not on her clothes, Malik. Why would I put it on something as temporary as that?" Giving those at the table a smirk and returning to her own food. She was more focused on eating than talking because she had energy to rebuild.

"There are places that are there from things less then pleasant. like Kithicor Forest. and Norrath isn't without it's own dangers. there's gnolls, and orcs among other things. but a lot of it is pleasant. even the moon has it's niceties. well Luclin anyway. the other one isn't habitable."
A slight grin and leaning back some.
"I've been making bargains for masks that can disguise the features of some of us to match the lighter skinned members of the family. like the mask I once gave you, Piper. But there are some places that I, or to be honest, Malikhai and Kaelin, won't be welcome in without arrangements like we had before, Piper...just the reverse of that."

"That doesn't sound like a good thing at all. You know because blood loss usually means that you're on your way dying, are too weak to do anything else, or again the dying part. Doesn't make me happy to think about that."
He couldn't help but chuckle as she showed some impatience on the matter. Sometimes she wasn't as passive and patient as others thought. "You just want to paint the walls." Playing with her about it but looking back to his parents. "That last part sounded like work."
"I'm not going to ask." With her luck there was a rune somehow implanted in her brain. "Malik, trying to convince me of things mean you shouldn't talk about the bad parts." Though of course he already had ideas of how to solve problems. "Then shouldn't we just avoid those places? What makes them worthwhile enough to play that game again, in any fashion?"

"Felwithe is, despite many things...wonderful to take in. it rests in the greater faydark forest, and it's ivory marble walls hav ethe hint of vines. the places it built in lavish standard even for elves, in gold, marble, and brass. the brass is mostly for contrast tones in places. there's a river that run through it that is pristine. it's a truly awe inspiring sight. If there is one thing that Tier'dal respect on norrath in the Koada'dal, it's the city of Felwithe. even if they'd sack it if they could."
Glancing at fianna.
"And thier nearest neighbors, the Fier'dal...have Kelethin, a city much like yours, built in the trees. accessable only by lifts in three specific places, kept under armed guard. But Tier'dal of course are not welcome in either place...not without a great deal of currying favor and backwood deals. Kelethin is home to rangers, druids, warriors...and bardic talents. masks could work there. but felwithe. that place is home to powerufl magi. masks may not work there."
and there's the gnome city of Ak'anon...across the lesser faydarks. a mechanical wonder built into the steamfont mountains. and Kaladim, another place Tier'dal are not very weclome in the butcherblock mountains. and that's only one continent. there's much to see."

"It's a way to purge the body and teach conditioning all at the same time. My father explained it once. If a rune mage doesn't go through that aspect of training, when he or she does manage to attain the higher levels of runing, her body wont' be able to handle it and she likely will die. You have to build up in your knowledge base just like you must in preparing your body to take bloodloss without allowing death." She leaned over and gave him a nuzzle. "I'm not going to go and die on you, Mykorian. Daddy wouldn't allow it."
Kaelin flushed but gave him a silly grin in return and nodded. "My house, my walls, my heart's desire. You said so." She had no idea what any of them were talking about. "I have to wear a mask?"

"Well I have to give him that. But no wonder a lot of others don't want to finish the training. You have to risk your life just to get somewhere in the field that is decent. Though I have to admit, it is admirable that you want to keep trying. I may have kicked your butt at tournament when we met, but you'd kick mind without blinking an eye now."
"Indeed I did and I'm a man of my word." Though it seemed like his father was still on the path of convincing his mother of things. Maybe he honestly wanted to go to those places as he talked as if he'd never really been, only glimpsed the places in various ways. "It's a special kind of mask, I played around with something he's talking about once. You don't feel it once you put it on and the like."
"Well...how about you make your deals and plans and what not and then we'll decide if we want to go such places. I won't be traipsing around places only to have nothing but frustration on my hands. If I'm not afraid to smack assassins I'm surely not going to back down on surface elves."

"Most of the planning is done. I've greased palms in freeport and qeynos...Erudin just for Kieran...what's left really is supplies, living arrangements in some of the cities...trying to get some basic points of interest available to us. Like the temples to Erollisi and Mithaniel Marr in Freeport. and the Temple of Life in Qeynos."

"And yes I know you won't take any guff form surface elves. but there are still sights worth seeing. you'll find that they are not nearly so hostile as Neriak was. maybe a little condescending, but that's as badI think it'll get."

Shaking her head and then glancing at him with a laugh. "As I recall it was me who kicked yours. Or was that the second time we faced each other in tournament?"
"And now I have new paint that I can use on them as well. Though I think its meant for canvas since it doesn't fade. I might want to repaint my walls and vampiric paint probably isn't going to cover very easily either." Thinking out loud since the others at the table were going off on subjects she had no idea about adn nothing to contribute. "We won't get hurt, right?"

"Well then, I'm just going to have to man up and come see you at your house, regardless of your dad. Someone is going to have to bring you things your mother won't feed you after all." Smirking at her though, "The first time you almost took off my arm but I won. The second time you won."
"I don't think you have enough there for a wall anyway. You'll have to do your sketches so I'll know what colors I need to get." Giving her hand a squeeze as she was still concerned about trips. "Knowing him, no. But you can't prevent everything."
"They're always snobs." Shaking her head to that but things were very clear weren't they? "Most but not all and you're usually an all kind of elf. You're just waiting for Zahara to give you a yes and what not."
