She hadn't been prepared for him to lift her up, nor for the way he'd done it either. Normally when her father picked her mother up it was bride-style, cradling her in his arms. Mykorian had hauled her up in front of him so that she was practically forced to curve her legs around his waist and hold on behind his neck, his hands supporting her backside. It was such a comical position, she couldn't help the laughter that escaped. "I take it I'm not heavy at all?"
She strolled down with him and gave a shy wave to his grandparents then remained where she was by his side.
"Right." She gave a nod and reached out to ruffle his hair. "I might as well see to your sister. And bring me a peach as well. She's going to need something to take her irritation off being poked and prodded. Exactly like her mother in that way."

"Tradition is a powerful force, as you should well know. but glad to see it's working better. Galesen's reports have been a bit..tainted I think. they give an impression of a distracted elf jotting down things half remembered. I have a feeling he's been playing in the rain too much recently."
Looking over at his oldest and his new bride.
"You can't squirrel yourselves away forever. besides, I have a present for your bride. I was trying to think of something art related that you couldn't get yourselves. even contacted Galesen and had him keep and eye out as well as my contacts on norrath and some others figures of high standing. wasn't having much luck. lots of paints, but nothing special, lots of writings, but again nothing really outstanding. But I managed to come up with something. a Vampiress named Isis heard of my search and offered what she called 'vampiric paint'. I was a bit leery of the name at first myself."
gesturing to a servant to get the paintset.
"Apparently Mayong Mistmoore is a parton of the arts, though not bardic song. but he doesn't care for the idea of paintings of his to fade over time, as paint tends to do. so they figured out a method of infusing vampire blood into paint, that keeps it vibrant. The price was not pleasent, to say the least and I'm not going to go into that. But I thought it would make for a very nice wedding gift for you."
taking the case and holding it up a bit for her to see.
"I'm not the overbearing figure I think you sometimes perceive me to be, you know."

He let her have her laugh, and what the hell had himself a laugh as well, setting her back down though when he was sure things were over for the time being. "Nope, or maybe I'm just freakishly strong from all the hard work I do day in and day out."
Khai pulled out Kaelin's chair for her, pushing it in for her as she sat down and he took his own seat at the table. "We're not squirreling away. We're just lazy from readjusting to being in all that light and fresh air." Saying it with a joking tone to his voice, just to mess with his father. However as he started naming presents, the humor lulled some. Vampiric paint? Why did that sound bad? Continued explanation made that better and he smiled again. "Well...he's just trumped all of my art presents. I'm going to have to start buying shiny things before I've even been married a year."
Fianna of course reached over and smacked Kieran's hands before they ever even moved. "You can journal it all down later. Don't even reach for a writing implement. It's not like they're going to disappear." Punctuating with a laugh and earning one from her own husband as well.
"Little elf and a peach, can do." He wandered back downstairs in time to catch present things and what not but paid little attention to it all as he walked over to his mother and picked up his sister. She already had a peach tucked in her pocket apparently and that would work. "Zahara wants her next." Thusly carting his sister back upstairs to Zahara. "I come bearing the gift of one little elf."

She shook her head and glanced up at him for a moment then collapsed back into a chair. "And if it happens again, is that what you plan on doing once more?" Because it wasn't horrible to be lifted into his arms, even if it was a bit suggestive. "It'll be like exercise for you. I'm not all that light."
Presents for her? She blinked at the name and explanation and fiddled with her fingers beneath the table. Vampiric paint? That was very strange, wasn't it? She took the case, her eyes sliding up to meet his as her cheeks flared with bright color covered only by her darkened skin. "I don't know you very well." She slid her hand over the polished wood of the case and frowned. "Are there any special instructions for it's use?"
"Set her down on the bed, Dhairiss, thank you." Zahara walked over to Savvy and gently rested a hand on her knee. "We're going to heal your knees and then look over the rest of you just to make sure, little one. And after that you can eat your peach, alright?" Thus gently lifting the child's skirts and sending her power to remove the scabs and heal the slight nicks. Her power coursed through the rest of the little elf's body to assure that all was well. "Very good, Savryn. You may eat your peach. Would you tell Malikhai I'd like to see him now?"

"No special instructions. other then what's made into it, it's just paint. works like regular paint. and that's something we need to work on. your family now, and you should at least know me a little bit better."
a slight smirk at his son.
"You have to know how to work the system."

"You're not heavy either. I don't know why you women obsess over your weight and what not. Besides, if you weighed any lighter I would be afraid I'd throw you over my head when I did pick you up suddenly. And you would be more mad at me for throwing you on your head than anything else."
She was very pleased that that went so fast, seeing as she didn't like to be poked at. Mostly because poking caught her off guard still and it was just an unhappy thing for her. Thusly it was on to eating her second peach as she was allowed to leave and she chose to walk this time, taking measured steps and taking the stairs at a slower pace before it was back to the table with the others, still snacking away.
Dhairiss followed shortly, plopping in his own seat. "Zahara said I am to be lazy and happy." Grinning at that before filling his own plate with food. And surveying the crowd at the table, pointing to his brother with his fork. "Zahara wants you next. In case you didn't know, dad is having us all checked over."
Issues between his father and Kaelin, from her nature, aside he merely shook his head with a dramatic sound of horror. "You've ruined the system." Blinking back to normalcy as he looked at his brother and then at his father again. "Should have seen that coming. We're covered in Andal germs and aren't used to them." Pressing a kiss to Kaelin's cheek and getting himself up, "I'll be back." And thus up to Zahara and her ways of healing. "Impromptu once over hm?"

"Because we don't like to think we're fat. We're vain creatures, even those of us who don't usually obsess over such things." A shake of her head and she chuckled. "If you did throw me on my head, you would be the one in pain, my friend. If not from my runes, certainly from my father's."
She really didn't like it when Malikhai left her alone like this but knew she didn't have much of a choice. "Thank you very much. It was a very thoughtful gift." Closing the lid and pushing the chest to the side, she surveyed the table briefly. "Family...yes." Yes, it was still a foreign concept to her. She'd lived with the family for about ten years now but had never felt a part of it. She'd always been the outsider even if Malikhai had insisted she wasn't. "How do you propose we do that?"
She was sitting on the bed herself and got up to give Malikhai a hug. "You know how your father is. I would have asked for you anyway just to see you looking healthy and happy. You are happy, are you not? Even though your honeymoon didn't go as planned?" Sending her energy into Malikhai's body and immediately ridding it of the foreign things in his system because of Andal. Last thing they needed were colds and the like down here.

"We need to have an outing, I think. Someplace outside twilight. I've been pouring a good bit of time on the side and money as well into a venture I wanted to take my family to, maybe we could try that. Or perhaps just me and you can go someplace and you can get to know me a bit better."
shrugging lightly.
"It would really be more up to you, on what you'd feel comfortable doing. after all if your not comfortable, then the whole idea is a waste since it defeats the purpose if your jumping at shadows, so to speak."

"Which is what I'm severly trying to avoid. Therefore, caution must be used unless I want to run for my life and I'm really not interested in doing such a thing right now. Would crying save me?"
"Does everyone know? You try to not make things public and it gets out like wildfire, I swear." Shaking his head with a sigh he let her go about her healer thing. "I'm not happy if people are going to keep bringing that up. That aside, yes I am happy." And now slightly irritated but that's how things went.

"Maybe with me but not my daddy. He'd probably hurt you worse but that's just how protective he is of his girls."
"No, not everyone knows, Malikhai but those who do know just want to make sure everything is alright between you two. You love each other and everything else will come in time." It didn't take long to flush alien energies out of Malikhai's body but it was draining. "You can send me Kaelin next or you can tell your mother I want to see her. Up to you."
"I'm not afraid of you" she said quietly, meeting his gaze. "If you think the two of us should go somewhere alone, that's fine with me. I'd much prefer having Malikhai along with us but he doesn't have to be there."

That got a hint of a smile.
"Fear has nothing to do with it, Kaelin. I'm not worried about you fearing me. my concern is that if I walk near you with no one else around, you try to avoid me or politely excuse yourself. I don't want you to walk around me as if you expect a false word or look is going to incur my wrath. We have to work on that."
Leaning forward a bit.
"I was thinking a family trip to the homeplane of their father, seeing as how they have been to the homeplane of their mother."

"Well then, if crying works with you then I'll just have to pray that playing dead works with him. I'm good at playing dead. Ran into a big thing out in the wilderness a few days ago, played dead and it went away."
"Yeah, I know. Everything comes in time so I would just appreciate if we didn't talk about it anymore." Though he would admit, he did feel to a degree more comfortable after she had gotten all the Andal cleaned off of him. "Sure you don't want to come downstairs and get some food first. Look like you're getting a bit worn out from body scanning."
Piper choked on her food at that notion and she looked to Malik, blinking. "You want to take them to Norrath?" Were they even welcome there anymore? She had lost track of everything and frankly if they went back there, there was no way in hell she was going to be playing the follow puppy like last time. She knew Malik still traded with Norrath, but trading hardly had anything to do with being able to go someplace and not be worried or aggrivated the whole time while there.

Faate gave another crack of laughter and danced over to him, patting his cheek in appreciation. "I've always enjoyed your sense of humor, Mykorian. But if it actually went away then it had to be something that was stupid and we've got a lot of that in the Underdark. My father isn't one of them."
"Now that you mention it, it probably would be a good idea. I've still got your wife to go over and she probably picked up as many things as you did." Standing and throwing an arm over his shoulder for balance. "You can escort me in my weakened condition."
"Oh..." And he was right. She did often act like a false word would incur his wrath because it had in the past. Malik was one of those confusing cases because of the way he treated Savryn. She hadn't trusted her "father" and she certainly didn't trust Malikhai's. "Is it safe? Malikhai talked about it once but I don't know if he still wants to go or not. It couldn't hurt to ask him."

"Not to Neriak, no. I wouldn't subjigate you to that again, nor fianna or kieran if they chose to come. or Dhairiss. But there are places we can go, with the right amount of coin and a little caution. in fact, if you really want to be mean to me, there's a few places where our previous situation can be reversed."
A shrug.
"It's an idea, is all. Surely you want your kids to see the pandas don't you?"
chucking lightly at that one.

“There is just no way I would be able to escape the inevitable is there? I am forever doomed and having to watch my back. Oh well.” Picking up another piece of sushi and popping it into his mouth with a grin.
“Yes yes, Andal is riddled with germs and energies that are simply unnaturall to us.” Giving her a kiss on the cheek and taking her by the arm to indeed escort her back downstairs and to the usual seat of hers at the table, plopping down on in his own. “Zahara is taking a break. What I miss?”
That made her feel a bit better, though frankly she had no clue what the rest of Norrath was like aside from what Malik had mentioned to her or what she had heard in eavesdropping on conversations.“ I suppose it’s not a bad idea, provided we don’t run into anything we don’t need to.” She couldn’t help a light smirk though. “The pandas were cute. Crazy panda protector lady, not so much.”
