A smirk and moving to a desk, opening a drawer and pulling out a journal. Yes, malik was aware of the impending visit, mostly because they hadn't had one in a bit. this one was mostly notes and observations about the liching of the draithix.
"True enough, but that's also why he's the way he is. he can be controlled. or trained in a manner of speaking."
grinning lightly and holding it up for kieran to see the book.
"and have you been a good father in law?"

"Be in on your secret and part of it as well because you'll not doubt come to learn that I make them better than you could ever dream of? But of course I can keep a secret and be in on it for all the little perks and fun. I'll have to make sure I keep more stocked more often. I'll go broke, but it'll be a good broke."
"We'll make sure to label everything and I'll figure out some suitable measurements to go with them and they'll be perfectly understandable. If not we can yell at people until they get it right." Giving a nuzzle and a slight inflection of goofy voice to play it all up as he squeezed her with a light tickling as well.
Well that was all she had to snitch on herself about and it was Dhairiss' turn first. Thusly he wandered over to Bumbles and picked him up, much to his delight. Though a litte nosie and the draithix jumped away from her and skittered off from unfamiliary of new people. Savryn herself wasn't too familiar with her grandparents, she was still getting to really know them. Still skittish from lack of immediate visual information she reached for the nearset thing to cling to which happened to be Sevilin.
"I suppose you've gotten all your bugs with this figured out then. Bravo. It will be interesting to see how it goes in time." Sevilin did what he always did when Kieran was around. Sneer, cross his arms, and pretend like he didn't exist. He blinked however at the pressure on his person and there was Savryn clinging.
He was surprised to see his grandparents as well. Apparently the parents knew but no one else knew about this little visit. However not much time to ponder because he had to follow quickly after Zahara. "So how much horror is this going to consist of?"
"Call it a surprise." Though he couldn't help the smile that graced his lips as Malik went about teasing already. Something was wonderful and in that journal and they both knew it. "I like to thank so. Vouch for me?" Giving a look to Fianna at that one.
To which she pleasantly rolled her eyes. "Yes, he's been good."

Malik walked to sevilin, picking up his daughter and handing over the book to Kieran.
"Then he can have it. and why are you clinging to sevilin...don't you want to spend time with your mother's parents?"
poking his daughter's nose lightly, before looking aroudn for the draithix...a flare of green to his eyes and commanding the creature to come back over.
"I take it you two are on vacation? and no troubles are following?"

She gave a laugh and impulsively danced over and gave him a hug as well as a peck on the cheek. "You're the best, Mykorian." Thus selecting another roll from the plate and popping it into her mouth with a sigh of pleasure. Chewing thoughtfully, she gave a nod of approval. "You won't be broke. I'll help you pay for anything you buy."
"I can help you with that. I can do math pretty well sometimes." The voice triggered her giggles and she squirmed in his hold at being tickled. "I think you're very silly, Khai. But you know what? I love you that way." Resting her head against his shoulder and letting out a sigh of contentment. "How long do you think it will take them to build it once they start?"
"Oh, it's not going to be as bad as all that." Circling his shoulder with her arm, she walked up to the room she'd once used as a supply closet and had been since turned into almost a medical bay. Patting the bed that served as her examination table, she took his hands and closed her eyes. "I need to sense things out. Breathe deep for me Dhairiss." Sending her magic into his body which would cause a warming sensation to fill his veins. "Now let it out." Still searching. "And breathe deep for me again."

“Hey, if you’re willing to help foot the bill then it’s all good. You may want to give me a heads up most of the time though. This stuff is no good after a few hours. You do not want to eat hot sushi, it’s just not pleasant. And that’s what it’s called, or what I heard it called once.”
“Some woman besides my mother has to love me and put up with me. Lucky I got a good one to tolerate me.” Nuzzling at her hair some before he gave a shrug. “You know…I really don’t know. They built up the serf houses and such around here pretty fast though. Maybe a month? Depends on how fast my dad wants to motivate them and what not.”
He popped up on the table and let her start doing her thing, doing what was asked of him. Of course deep breathing meant that his heart pumped harder and thus added on more strain. Which wasn’t pleasant because it produced pain. “It’s probably nothing.”
Savryn had reverted to her way of making noises instead of giving answers to questions that she really didn’t know how to answer and was unsure of how she felt about anyway. Though she did wrinkle her nose at the unexpected poke, usually she didn’t get such pokes from him, and gave a wide blink as suddenly there was Bumbles again, having hopped up on Malik’s shoulder at being told to come out. It looked at the two elves with them for a long moment before it gave a few happy noises. They were considered new people on her list…and new people moved things. Thusly it was cupping of hand around daddy’s ear and whispering, “How long they staying?” Most children would be ecstatic, she was just worrisome.
She and her parents knew this wasn’t an easy thing when it came to Savvy. But they’d manage, she’d settle and things would be fine. Though with Dhairiss moving off with Zahara, a look was given to Malik. “Is Dhairiss alright?”
He happily took to the journal, attention put there and page flipping much to his wife’s eye rolling. “Yes, vacation and bearing no ill things or being chased this time by anything. Just a visit with family and we’re not causing trouble while doing it.” Smiling at them and watching her granddaughter for a moment as the girl seemed to be processing through things. “Besides, have to get away from home from time to time. Let the young royals stretch their wings without others to fall back on.”

"No worries. I'd never just spring this kind of thing on you. I won't always announce that I'm coming over, however, but that's never been a problem before." She grabbed the potatoes she'd sliced and fried earlier then dipped them into the bowl of dip she'd made earlier and carried it over to him. "My turn. Taste."
"A lot would have if you would have let them." She knew how popular he'd been even if he hadn't encouraged or even wanted the attention. He was the son of a powerful Lord and that meant a good life for the woman he chose to call his own. "It's okay if it takes a while. I don't think your parents really want us moving out yet anyway."
"I'll determine that." She listened to his chest and could hear the problem but couldn't find anything in his actual chest that might contribute to the problem. Studying the black mark that had remained after his time with the evils that had kidnapped them. "Kelligrin hasn't had any problems lately...at least that he's mentioned to me." Hm, maybe she needed to check him over now, too. "For now cut back on the activity and watch your emotions, Dhairiss. I'll keep an eye on you, but I think you've just overstressed yourself. You might need to handle that wanderlust problem too."

“I think I’m liking this secret. It involves food and that’s always great. Picking up one of the potato crisps and scooping up some dip with it, throwing it back into his mouth and chewing thoughtfully before he went for another one. “And yet, food cooked in some way does have its merit. You have to leave me some of these when you go.”
“Yeah but I didn’t like them, or fall in love with them now did I?” tugging at one of her ears playfully as if in reprimand to her being silly about it. Other women didn’t matter, he’d gotten the one he wanted. “None of their birds have left the nest before, I’m sure they’re not eager either.”
Okay, so he’d give her the emotion thing…maybe it did account for something. “In other words, be lazy and content much like a house cat? I can do that.” Though he did frown a little. “Nothing I can do about the wanderlust. Everyone tells me it doesn’t go away but it has to. Some elves just can’t go running around.”

She picked up another one, dipped it, and took a bite with a grin. "Told you it was good." Which meant they had potato chips and dip and sushi to eat. They'd be just fine. "I'll do that. I can teach you to make them or I'll just make some when I'm here. Seems unfair that you have to cook sushi for me and I won't cook anything for you."
She let out a gasp at her ear being fondled and wrinkled her nose. "No but they sure tried. I'm just special, hm?" Giving him a grin and then sweeping her hands along his own ears in experimentation. "Birds?" That made her snicker, especially since now she knew exactly what a bird was. "Lord and Lady Inthara seem to handle it pretty well. I mean Zahara and Sevilin..." He was forever scolding her for being too formal. "Your father wants it on his land?"
"Good." She straightened and settled on the bed beside him. "I don't know, Dhairiss. I'm not a surface elf and so I don't have that problem. But everyone can take a vacation. Your grandparents are here. Perhaps it would do you some good to go back to Andal with them for a bit. Or maybe your grandfather has some way of countering wanderlust? I can look into it for you, but I can't promise you I'll find anything."

before glancing at his wife.
"He was having chest pains again, I'm having Zahara look him over...not to mention your due for a check up as well, and so his kaelin and malikhai."

“Even better deal. Everyone wins with it.” Eating between the two things they had going on and enjoying every moment. Good food and good company were enough to make his day a good one indeed. “Soon your mother will wonder where you’re running off to all the time, homebody.”
“They tried too hard.” Giving a pleasant noise as she played with his own ears. Yes, ears were such a good thing. “They seemed appropriate for the analogy.” He did have to grin however as she corrected herself. Being formal all the time did get on his nerves to a degree. “I don’t really know, but I’m not bothered staying on it. Besides, I really don’t want to start a territory war either. People like to start those kinds of rumors and what not. Does it bother you?”
“Can I have a cleric’s note to tell my parents that?” Just for the humor value of asking, knowing his parents would let him do just that if it was common consensus that it was needed for him. “Maybe…If I’m there I can at least get more work on my tattoo. But now’s not a good time to leave for me.”
That got a frown from her. Dhairiss was so good at ignoring those pains that he didn’t let them transfer over bonds so the rest of them didn’t know either. Save Savryn who was tuned into those things. Piper was still trying to determine if that was a good or bad thing. However she made a face, “You’re making us all get checked over? No fair, if you’re going to make the rest of us you have to get a once over too Malik D’vinn.” Her way of dealing with not liking being poked at. Bargining.
Which got a giggle from Fianna over it all. Girl never liked being poked at and she always tried to get something out of the deal. “That sounds like the no arguing voice, if I do say so myself.”
Well then, that was that now wasn’t it? Thusly it was quiet for her for the time being, petting and nuzzling at her little draithix friend. That is before a noise from her tummy. “I’m hungry.” Announcing that to whomever was going to take care of it.

"And then I just use the sex excuse and not only is she happy to let me go, but I won't have to worry about anymore girl nights at Twilight. Those are not very much fun for me though you wouldn't really understand. How come they don't call you in for boys' night, Mykorian?"
"I didn't try at all, though." She watched his reaction and tilted her head then repeated the action. "Not as much as it might have before. You know how I feel about him, Khai. I don't not like him but he's not as special to me as he is to you. He still...kinda scares me when he knows everything I'm thinking. But I could live on his land as long as he promised not to interfere in our lives too much. You should be close to your mother anyway."
Zahara just laughed and patted his thigh. "You'll get through it, Dhairiss. You're a D'vinn after all." She was a bit concerned though and that prompted her to ask. "Is this about Savryn and the reason that you're all upset lately?"

"Oh those? I don't know...I've never been invited. I'm not part of the family or as close as one can get to it so I'm not welcome I guess. All in all, you have to remember that I'm just the help. I do work for you all, I get paid, I repeat as long as I need to be paid so I can live a comfortable life."
"You tried in a different way than just throwing yourself at me." Going stupid again as she decided to play with his eas once more. She was learning, the little she devil. "He just takes some getting used to and he's abrasive. But he wouldn't go about bothering us all the time. Otherwise I would have to return the favor and he hates his privacy being interupted."
"Yeah yeah, D'vinns are made of tough stuff." However he got quiet as she brought up things. She was a lot more perceptive than most gave her credit for. Probably used Sevilin's runes or something. "Maybe...I can't help it."

"I'm not the one that needs checked up on, but alright if it will make you agree then I'll get one too."
before looking at his daughter and nodding lightly.
"Alright. everyone I guess to the kitchen, one of the children are hungry and we all know they don't get to stay hungry long."
Setting his daughter down.
"See if you can hold his sight long enough to get to the kitchen. if you can, you'll get two peaches."

Didn’t have to deal with her twice with terms like that. Setting Bumbles down and orienting herself with distance from other things in the room around her. “Kitchen Bumbles. Go.” The two of them sharing a look for a moment before he started trotting off and she followed after him, though she did reach out to nab his tail from time to time to slow him down. Too far ahead of her and depth perception said this whole thing was useless.
“Stop.” Because he was about to take his route under the dining table and she wasn’t going to crawl under that. “Go around, not under.” He was a little confrontational with her before she pointed and he finally re-corrected his course and she followed him again. When she did get to the kitchen, he went bounding off to find some scraps and she let his her vision bind with him go. And she waited patiently with a beaming smile. That wasn’t too hard…though her head was hurting a little now.
“Yes, that’s the circumstances of my agreement. I’m not going to suffer alone. You’re the husband, you’re first in line for my devious conditions.” Watching though intrigued as her daughter went about trying to do what she was told and Piper was a tad worried when she almost smacked into the table, but she corrected herself easily. Well, seemed she was easily getting the hang of it. “You better get her reward before she throws a fit.” Or passed out.
Kieran of course who knew what was going on now had to watch this happen and he was quite impressed as well. She hadn’t been doing this for very long and already she was doing well at it. Though any who could feel magic knew that the magic was unsteady and wavering still. Hm, wonder what that made for vision circumstances. “Quick learner.”

grinning lightly...but heeding his wife's advice and heading over to get the aforementioned pair of peaches, and handing them to her with a muss of her hair.
"You did a very good job. I'm proud of you."
