"Maybe you'll like it more this time, I'm not cooking any of this, and all it gets is a little salt and maybe a sauce or dip. You may like it." Going to the icebox and getting out a bowl of rice before wandering to a panty and getting another bowl and dried strips of black something or other. "Here, fill this with water and soak that in it to hydrate them. If you don't like what we end up with then all the more for me." Smiling happily at her.

"We have all the time in the world Kaelin." Really, it wasn't a big deal too much. Things came in time and this was just another one of them. "Oh so all my manly things can be in the basement hm? I'll have to put a little more thought into what I want down there then." Though he did take her pencil and mark two additional rooms in said space. "You know, we can get you some braziers from Andal, like mom has in her atrium, for your little studio. Gives you a choice of lights to work in."

It was a combination of racing and hunting of each other as they tried to outdo one another by sheer speed and with underhanded tactics such as pouncing and what not. He had just managed to get a hold of her when their linkstone went off. "Hear that? Boss is calling you anyway, great timeing." Dropping her down to her boots and giving her a little push to put her off balance but not enough to make her fall and he took off again at a run once more.

Reaching up she pulled it off her head and cuddled it as she let her father do the walking for her. Something was different about her friend, she just hadn't quite figured it out just yet.

"You don't have to put it like that." Though his father did worry when it came to health in general for anyone that wasn't him. He was even like that over Keely. Heading inside with his father and sister, problems momentarily forgotten.

"Not cooking it?" She tilted her head and studied the food he was preparing, reminded once again of his enjoyment of raw things. Raw fish...how strange. She finished slicing the cucumbers and carrots and pushed them over to him then took the bowl and began to do as he'd told her to. It was a bit like cooking with her mother, she mused silently in her head as she worked. "You'll let me starve? Mykorian, I expected better than you." Wagging the knife in his direction playfully.

And there he went being a good man all over again. It didn't seem to bother him too much and for that she was grateful. He understood where she was on the issue and that was all that truly mattered. Studying his corrections, she gave a nod of approval and bent to add in a few other touches to her nearly finished floorplan. "You wanted two guest rooms but I think we should have three. Just in case. As for the braziers, I think that's a great idea. I was just wondering how I was going to paint without the light of the open sky. I always used a candle in the past but...it's just not the same."

She squirmed in his hold, wrapping her body around his to keep him from taking off without her and the linkstone went off. "He's always bellowing. Dhairiss again..." Shaking her head as she was thrown off balance and took off after her husband. She caught up to him and launched herself onto his back, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and her legs around his waist. "Now we'll both win and you will carry me to victory!"

"What would you prefer? I tell her your having constant chest pains, or that you just need a checkup? I would think you'd prefer the checkup version. she might not poke around as hard at first."

before setting his daughter down and letting her walk with them.

"Anything else on your mind?"

“We just went shopping, there’s plenty to eat not. You’d just have to make it yourself.” Though he went about combinging the ingredients as she finished with them wrapping fish and vegetables in the rice and seaweed, and some with just rice or vegetables. Each was laid aside on a small plate. “You want to go ahead and try one? There’s a brown sauce in the icebox or you can try your own dip.”

“Fair enough, add a third. All the personal rooms should be upstairs anyway, get away from ground floor noise and what not.” Grinning at her and brushing some of her hair out of her face. “I know it’s not the same, and I can barter something easy enough. Nothing can be as complicated as my father requested.

He grunted as she leaped on him, throwing him off balance and stumbling a bit before he regained his balance. “Careful, you’re going to make me limp.” His back still bothered him from time to time after the encounter with his last old family member but not often and usually he paid it no mind. However he righted his posture and carrying her was one again no problem. “I better get a treat out of this, it’s only fair.” Arriving at Twilight shortly after he walked inside still carrying her before putting her down. “My feet went over the threshold first, I say I win.”

"At first...then she gets her clues or pinches it out of me. Then comes the real poking." Maybe it was just something in the air...he should have asked Kel if he was having any problems as they seemed to share the same problem. He never could figure out why that was. Maybe shared accident or something. "Nothing we won't fight over..." And he'd rather avoid fighting right now.

She continued on walking behind them, setting her draithix down and letting him skip along with her. Though she did grab his tail and there was that shift in the air of unconcealed magic and the little draithix's eyes flashed a moment. Oh look, she was trying out her thing again. A look over her shoulder and she then tugged at her father's hand to get his attention. "People." Of course she had little visual recognition of Sevilin and Zahara. Just because she could see didn't mean she knew what things were or who for that matter.

"And miss out on that?" She blinked as she glanced over and watched him making something she truly had never seen before. And that was rather surprising considering her mother had gathered recipes from everyone who had ever come to their corner of the plane before. She studied the peculiar bites then shrugged and lifted one, holding her hand beneath it to catch anything that chose to fall out. "I just eat it whole?" Taking a bite and chewing for a moment, she tossed the rest back as well, chewed, and then grinned. "Those are pretty good. I don't think my dip would be very good with them though."

Giving him a grin and then a peck on his nose, she hunched over once again and quickly sketched in a third box on the second level of the house. "You'll thank me for it one day when we have three guests that can't possibly share a room." Or two guests with a baby...but she had to get her mind off such things. "If you can't, I"ll be okay. I used to paint in the Underdark before I went to Andal and there's a certain art to it, I suppose."

"Come on, old man. Onward." She snickered at him as he grumbled and curved her body so she could peck his cheek and play with his ears at the same time. "You called yourself the pack horse, just remember that." But soon enough they were at their destination and she shook her head. "I don't think so. My hand went over the threshhold before your feet did." She saw the three of them and waved. "Hi Savryn. Dhairiss, Malik. What's going on that you needed me for?"

"Good, see you can do it."

patting his daughter on the head and glancing over.

"See it's sevilin and zahara. think next time you'll be able to recognize them if you see them?"

before pointing to Dhairiss.

"He's the reason. he needs a check up. and while your at it, I don't suppose it wouldn't hurt to get on the rest of them either."

"Never know." Making a few more with different kinds of fish and combinations before he was putting things away as she was trying things out. He smiled, "Well then I'm glad you like it. Though I may fight you for it. One of my favorite things. Try this one." Handing her a white fish one over the pink colored meat she'd just had. "You never know about dips till you try them."

"I'm sure I will. Or, we'll just use them to store all your paintings and what not, or to display all our junk. Plenty of uses." Nuzzling at her lightly before giving a chuckle and shake of his head. She was always so passive sometimes. "Yes there is, which is why it's even better for you to be able to choose your light."

Bumbles, as he had been so named by the girl, wandered up to the two drow, sniffing and twitching his ears before using his eyes to give them a once over. Savryn gave an unsure noise at his question though. She had never associated with Sevilin much, but she was familiar with Zahara as she had helped take care of her. Moreso in voice and smell over anything else. She always smelled like spice, just like mama always smelled like cinnamon. It was like looking at an apple...and not knowing it was an apple until she could touch it or some other sense exposure. Luckily though, her brother took the pressure off by being the center of attention.

"You know how he is about health. He's almost as bad as you are aunt Zahara." Chuckling pleasantly despite the unpleasant atmosphere of earlier and what not. Which there was truth to the thought though as Malik was going to get them all in one fell swoop while he had them all. Clever.

Whoa...that thing was not right. Physically it looked fine, save a little pale and it acted right...but magically it was absolutely not right. Was that thing undead. Urge to kick draithix aside as he always had he watched as it was....was it intently watching them? "You get to play cleric, you'll like that. She hadn't poked at anyone lately."

The dip he was talking about was easy to find and she took the other form of the strange raw food and took a bite then dipped and tasted again. Sweet! "That one's better with the dip but I think the dip would be too much for the other one. It's good just by itself." Taking the last bite she had left and holding it up to his lips. "I'll share."

She laughed, "You've got that backwards, Khai. We display my paintings and store our junk." Giving him a nuzzle back and then shifting so that she was sitting between his legs with her back to his chest. "Sometimes I don't know why you ask when you're already sure you're going to get them anyway. You know I wouldn't be mad at you for giving me such a thing."

She sensed the difference in the draithix as well but thought better of saying anything about it. Zahara reached her hands out to the little girl and crouched down. "Do I get a hug today, Savryn?" Giving a nod to Malik and studying the little girl. "It's about time to check Savvy over anyway. We have to stay on top of her bumps and bruises since she can't see how bad they are. Is your chest causing you pain again, Dhairiss?"

With a smile he took the bite she was offering, chewing happily before swallowing and grinning again. “See, it may be a little odd but it’s really really good. I don’t like cooked fish too much either. Now you have a new snack to make in your free time. I know dozens of variations too. I like to explore this area of food stuffs.”

“Alright, you win on that one. However which way it works best. Are you going to try to sell a few though since dad has already mentioned some things happening in that direction?” Though he gave a laugh and pressed a kiss to her shoulder. “My father taught me that it’s important to spoil the woman you love with all the things she never asks for, but really wants.”

Her ears twitched, easily recognizing what she wasn’t sure about with her eyes and she walked straight over to Zahara and into a hug…when usually she took a moment to figure out where Zahara was exactly. Though she did bump into that hug just as hard asusual; depth perception was still lost on her. “Do we have to?” Savryn was a tad fussy over being prodded too much as it happened frequently. Though she did behave through such things.

“She’s barely been here for five minutes…” And she was already going down that route. But he wasn’t particularly trying to hide it, gave a habitual tug at his tunic and a nod as well. “For a few days I have been. Mostly today.”

"Well you need the checkup and it can't hurt for everyone else to get one too."

glancing at sevilin.

"Yes it is what you think. it's part of her new way to see."

"I thought you were kidding. At least a little bit." Though he couldn't say that he wasn't interested in the thing. After all...undead things had a usual way about them but this one was unlike any he had ever seen or knew of. It was....lively, even for it's state of being. Curiosity had him crouching down to get a better look at the thing as it was looking around. "So she just...taps into him?" That would explain the lack of slight wandering over to Zahara.

"it's a more advanced version of a mage technique from norrath referred to as 'bind sight'...where they bind their vision to that of their constructs. however, that version usually lasts only a few scant moments at best and is really only useful on thing like stone gargoyles that remain immobile. and action against a minion breaks the link."

Gesturing lightly.

"with 'bumbles' here, the effect is as long lasting as she can keep it. with practice and talent she should eventually be able to do it for days at a time. and the best part is this effect can be used to hijack the sight of others. She proved that with Dhairiss. so it also makes an interesting defensive tool. she can literally strip someone of their sight and see through their eyes."

giving a slight grin to his daughter.

"Perhaps she'll even take up the 'dark art' on her own in time."

"I'm not sure if I would ever be able to make it at my house. My mother isn't fond of non-cooked food. She thinks it's bad for the digestion. Some forms truly are but not all. This is one that I don't think will cause any problems." She picked another one that looked like it had more green in it than anything else and took another bite then made a face and shook her head. "Nope, not that one. You can have the rest of it."

"If I can. I don't mind other people having my artwork, I'm just surprised is all. I suppose it's better than leaving them around the house. Eventually we would run out of room." She glanced over the kissed shoulder and grinned at him. "I knew there was reason I liked your father." Flipping the page in her sketchbook and starting on the top floor in more detail. "Who is building the house, Malikhai?"

Squeezing the child gently, she pressed a kiss to her forehead and then reached down and gently pet at the draithix. "Yes, we have to. But it doesn't look like you have any new bumps or scrapes from the outside. Besides, I'll let you have a cookie afterwards just like always."

Straightening, she tangled her fingers in Savvy's hair gently then studied Dhairiss carefully. "Have you been doing anything strenuous lately? Been out of breath or having trouble doing normal activities?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 29, 2009 2:30 pm

"It's not like she can control what you eat. If you want I'll give you my usual ingrediants and fish types and you can just make them whenever you want for a snack." Though he did laugh as she disapproved of one and he took took it from her regularly and ate it down. "Lots of seafood is good for this...though some things you want to cook and then just chill."

"Makes sense that people would be interested. After all, half the things you paint are of places that are beautiful and no one has ever seen before. Who wouldn't want a little of that gracing their walls?" It would be good for Kaelin's self esteem and what not, give her a little business of her own perhaps. He'd just show her how to run it and all. "My father's staff, most likely. I know Sevilin can easily sculpt things with runes and such, but dad has a good number of masons and what not."

Cue smile. More so for the poking most likely not being too invasive and less because of the cookie. Sweets just weren't her big thing...though she would do anything for a peach, or anything peach flavored. More so actual fruit over flavor variant. Though letting go of Zahara she did grasp the fabric of her dress and pull up a little, showing off her knees which were a tad scraped up. "I fell outside today." Dhairiss had informed her they weren't too bad and thus they hadn't done anything and continued to play.

"Nothing out of the ordinary I would think. I mean...stress has been up a bit lately but that's all." What with the fighting over Savryn that was going on right now. "Apparently I have wanderlust too." Shrugging his shoulders at that as his brain didn't think it could be a factor at all, despite how it was stressful on the body when resisted against. "Though you know when I get like this I more or less have to back off on everything."

"Well well, isn't that a surprise and quite nifty as well." Poking at the little draithix who only batted at him. "Though I can see the hitches as well, pardon the pun. If she sees what this little thing sees, and it doesn't want to do what she wants then she could be completely granted something useless in her vision, rather than what she needs to be paying attention to." However he knew that could be an assesst....ears and other senses in one place, eyes in another. "Considering everything, it wouldn't be a surprise."

"I am hearing intriguing conversation that I'm not part of." Familiar voice of one Kieran Silvercrest, or perhaps better stated Silverfeather, as he had walked into the room with Piper and Fianna as well.

"No, she can't but she will lecture and those are usually followed by some kind of potion. Trust me, it's usually better just to avoid those entirely." Giving him a grin. "I'd rather come here and eat them with you. It'll be like my guilty pleasure when I feel like bucking the system of health and breaking the rules. You won't tell my secret, will you?"

"They never were before but I suppose it makes sense they would be now. I like being able to introduce other drow to things they've never thought of or seen before." She leaned back against his chest and pulled her knees up then balanced her sketch pad on them as she put the finishing touches on her sketch of the second floor. "Are they going to be able to understand my plans?"

Her attention was caught by the tug and she dropped back down to Savvy's level, nodding. "That's alright. We'll get those taken care of in no time at all." Kissing her palms and then gently covering the thin scabs that covered her knees from where she'd fallen.

Concern was really about Dhairiss and his heart problem. "We'll go inside and take a look, Dhairiss. I want to make sure it's not getting worse." Her ears perked at Kieran's voice and she gave a wave. "Welcome back to Labyrinth, Kieran. Piper didn't tell me you were coming. Come along, Dhairiss."
