Faate laughed. "Mykorian, are you afraid of my mother? Don't be. She wouldn't lay a finger on you. Maybe a spoon, but never a finger. And she needs to be reminded that she doesn't run the world, at least every once in a while. It's good for her."

"I'll put you on the east side that way you have some privacy. And we'll give you a separate door so that you can close it when you need time to yourself. We could have a basement and you could have your study down there if you like?" Studying the drawing a moment, she changed her mind and made the master bedroom even bigger. "I hadn't even thought about them but I think we could start with one and go from there. We've kept Yinn alive and well, right?"

"Get drunk and seduce a boy that's either too young, too old, or she can't stand or that won't understand the way that this is truly going. If she does it because of me, she's going to be upset with herself and not want it to continue but men don't always understand that." Which is what concerned her. "Alcohol is good to get stubborn elves relaxed. It's also a good way to drug."

"unpredictable as the winds you ride, as always."

a slight chuckle and leaning over and kissing his wife, before a shrug.

"I'll go talk to him, and we'll straighten this out or I'll come back in, fill a bag and throw him to the surface."

"Not so much your mother. I know I can out run her if I have to." Shrugging lightly, "You can use my hammock if you want. I can always palette down on the floor. Though you didn't bring anything with you so I suppose you can wear something of mine."

"Basements are good. You can do all kinds of things with those. Yinn would probably like to play down there too and what not." Malikhai gave a laugh, reaching out a hand to run his fingers through her hair. "Yes we have, but elves are a touch more fragile than any draithix. We'd manage though I'm sure and usually, yes you start with one."

"This is why she has runes. Ones she knows and ones that activate based on certain factors no matter how drunk she could get herself. And what do you mean too old? You're guilty of that one yourself." Though he did smirk. "Again, always drugging. It's amazing what we go through in expenses because of that."

"You like it that way and you wouldn't have it any other." Patting a hand against his chest with a light melodic laugh to back it up. "Remember, don't make me have to come out there and break you up or have the urge to soothe. Because I won't do the latter for either of you. I'll take my own side this time and everyone will lose, and then Savryn and I will outcast all you men, recruit Kaelin and kick you all out. Again." Waving him off, after all she had some plans to attend to.

They were indeed outside in the atrium, enjoying the sun and what not. Though she was nervous as well, staying put while her brother never did. "Come away from the water. You're too close..." He had been trying to lure her over by the water that flowed through from the connecting lake but she wasn't going for it.

"You don't have to touch it, just come sit with me near it. I promise I won't let anything happen." It wasn't particularly deep either but one wrong bath experience for his sister and it was like she swore off water when not knowing she had to deal with it. Besides, if she listened hard enough to it, she could be more aware of it. Though he let out a breath and rested his hand on his chest for a moment before tugging at his tunic some.

"Ah, you're afraid of Daddy. He wouldn't lay a finger on you unless you laid a finger on me in threatening manner. And you wouldn't do that so I guess we have nothing to worry about." She settled in a chair and leaned back with a sigh. "That's not a problem. I've worn men's clothes before. Used to steal my dad's boots all the time."

"So yes to the basement, then." Sketching that in quickly enough and then returning to figuring out the layout of their home. "I think the kitchen needs to be in back and it always needs to have a window. Even though there's nothing really to look at." Rambling on about a few more room, she glanced up and smiled at the gentle brush then reached over and gave Yinn's belly a scratch. "I suppose. Your mother and Lady Inthara talked about them like they were a foregone conclusion. Do you have to have a son, Malikhai?"

"Yes, yes, I know. The ever-present and impossible to break, distract, or turn off system that's on every child that's come from my body." A shake of her head and she leaned back against his chest, grinning up at him with her own private joke. "And look at how it turned out for me." Sighing dramatically. "My son is concerned about my husband's age and whether or not he can give me anymore children if I happen to desire them." And she absolutely refused to say anything about drugging. It was necessary and that was all there was to it.

Malik nodded lightly.

"alright, don't make mom have to come break anything up, or we all get stuck at sevilin's house."

before going out to the atrium. no, did not like it out there that much. but that's where he daughter was so that's where her would be foster father was. So stepping into the cursed thrice damned solar light...and walking to his daughter.

"She's fine where she is. You and me, however, are not fine. and we need to talk. now."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:16 am

"You used to steal everything when you were younger. That's what they call taking without asking as you so often did." Not that there was ill intent behind any of it, but it was still borrowing without intention of returning. " Make yourself at home then, I don't know what I have to do today."

"Even if there's nothing to really look at, it's good to be able to look out. Or put in stained glass. That's a pretty something to look at and a view of the outside." Shaking his head as she still couldn't break her formalities. "Zahara. And in marriage they usualy are I suppose. It's just the way things go." He shook his head however, "I'd be happy with whichever we had. But that's a long ways off."

"I think it turned out pretty good if you ask me. Of course we could go back and not do all of this and see how it would turn out but I think you'd be less happy. You'd have no one to constantly cook for, think how horrible that would be." He rolled his eyes however at baby talk. "I'd bet you'd find a way."

She jumped lightly in surprise at Malik's voice, already skittish from water and not expecting him to pop up like he did. Though she smiled up at him in his direction somewhat before sensing out her brother again. She could tell where he was too a little easier, just like with mama. When Dhairiss wasn't feeling well, she knew that too. Probably because those two were bonded closer. "Daddy says no." Which was good enough for her, because daddy's word was law.

Usurper. But he didn't say anything to that effect and merely stayed where he was, surprised that his father was even in here. "Fine, let's have a talk." Getting himself up he brushed his pants off and wandered over to the other two, resting a hand on Savryn's head to mess her hair up. "We'll try later." Thusly giving a look to his father that said he had his attention.

Malik's eyes narrowed, and his jaw set some...before looking down at his daughter, and straightening her hair out a bit.

"You stay right here, we'll be back in a few moments, and we won't be too far away."

Before grabbing his son by the arm not to gently and walking him just out of her hearing range.

"contrary to your belief, you are not her father. Nor is it your place to stand in as one. I grow increasingly tired of you taking everything I say or do that you deem unsatisfactory and fighting on it. What happened, has happened. and you don't have the slightest inkling about it in either case."

letting his son go and positively glaring at him.

"She is my daughter. and while I will admit I have been less open to her as I have been with you and your brother that does not mean you have to make up for anything, nor does that mean it is your place to do so. And it is certainly not your place to question me about her sight, or the methodology I have spent months working out to try and restore it to her in some fashion."

"Your agitation and your restlessness from your wanderlust that you deem you cannot give in to over your sister is making you a thorn in my side and your aggressive behavior toward me concerning her is not something I will tolerate much more of."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 1:34 pm

“Okay.” Plopping down in the grass quite happily as she was told to not wander about the place. Besides she liked to play in the grass and what not. Though while they talked there was the distinct sound of her pulling up grass and using it between her thumbs as a whistle.

“I wish you would stop telling me I don’t know anything about it. Khai’s pretty much spelled it out to me.” For his life, he’d never seen his father worry over his mother and thus he’d never experienced how possessive his father could be of his mother. Khai had and they’d had a few talks. He really wasn’t in the mood for a fight as he was experiencing chest pains today but apparently that wasn’t going to fly as his father started laying down how things should be. “I don’t get why you can’t just hug her once in a while. You don’t treat me like that for what I did to mom.” Admittedly they both knew that he had been hard on his mother as well. Savryn had just been the final straw, he had been a catalyst. And he probably wasn’t the only one who ever thought about how things may be different if his sister was never born or never survived.

But he wasn’t raising his voice or protesting too much as he was trying to avoid as much of this fight as he was able to, arguing was just going to irritate the pain he was already feeling. “Then give me something to make the wanderlust go away. I’m sure Zahara has some drug for that. I’m tired of feeling it anyway, it’s a useless instinct. I have all I need here, I don’t need to go wandering about.”

"even Khai doesn't know half of it. and I pray neither one of you ever feel what I felt, or go through what I went through with your mother. There are things that I wouldn't even wish on my most loathsome enemy and that was one of them."

Frowning lightly.

"The problems you caused your mother weren't nearly as serious, nor as long lasting. your mother still feels the effects of your sister's birth to this day. As for your wanderlust....there's nothing that will make it go away. I've tried drugging your mother about it when she used to get it. it's a genetic trait apparently."

"you either suffer with it till it goes away, or you give into it and travel."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:22 pm

That's because he parents never talked about that all, at least not in front of them. If they ever did then it was in private. Though he neglected to say anything more about how his mother was. She was way better than she used to be, time was all it took to make things better and sure she had a bad day every now and then but those were getting less frequent. He gave a frustrated noise and tugged at his tunic. "I've lasted this long, another year won't kill me." And then it would go away. Hopefully.

"No but I might if you keep being so aggravating."

watching his son a moment.

"Your chest bothering you?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 3:08 pm

"Would you rather me be aggravating this way or by stealing your stuff for the fun of testing your security with what you all call my unique-ness?" Well that had gone better but knowing them, it wasn't over yet either. "Has been since I woke up today." Shrugging though as he said it...some days he merely had learned to ignore the pain when it was there.

"I'd prefer you not being aggravating at all."

frowning lightly at him and pinching hte bridge of his nose.

"Do I need to get Zahara? I don't like when you have chest pains. and I'm sure she'd be happy for an excuse to come over and have girl talk with your brother's new wife."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 4:48 pm

Everything he did seemed to aggravate his father though. The man had been touchy lately and he could already theorize that with Khai leaving the house, him and his sister were going to get more of the attention, perhaps unwanted. "If it makes you feel better you can have her give me a once over. She hasn't poked at me in a while." Crossing his arms though and tilting his head at his father. "We're still not 'fine', are we?"

Glancing at his son.

"Probably not. because I doubt your going to budge much on this and neither am I. I don't like when you act toward me like I'm just some meddling adult and your her father, and you don't like it that I am not as open to her as I am with you and your brother. It's very hard for me, despite how your mother is doing now."

leaning against a tree.

"When your mother had you, I felt her pain, I felt the agony in her as much as if it was happening to me. you hurt her alot...but we expected it. With your sister...everything seemed to go wrong. first that it was a girl, the only girl she'd probably ever get to have, which made her want to keep it all the more. then all the restrictions, walking on eggshells, top that with Zahara's underhanded attempt at murdering her before birth."

frowning a bit.

"then she finally had your sister. and the pain, the tearing her body went through. I know it's a common joke about Sevilin having to rune me to the floor during each of your births but I pushed him to the limit. Zahara, and broog were trying to physically restrain me because Sevilin was having a hell of a time trying his runes without me being able to counter them easy but not make them so complex I'd bleed to death trying to undo them."

"And when she started to slip away from me...I quite literally threw Zahara and broog off me. I called on powers that had you been there you'd probably be terrified of me now, powers that I probably really shouldn't have in an effort to keep Piper with me. I would have sacrificed every person in the fortress, including the intharas, if it meant keeping piper."

Glancing at the ground a bit.

"Afterward...I simply couldn't look on her as I do on you or your brother. I didn't want to be around her. everytime I saw her all I could see was piper's face, her eyes losing their luster, her skin going pale and ashen. She's a living testament to a choice that was made that for all intents a purposes, would have killed my wife."
