"Indeed it is. it's liched. if it 'dies' it disspates in a cloud of ash and reforms as long as the phylactery is intact, which I'll keep in one of the vaults. the one I keep other sensitive things. and by temporary I mean it lasts as long as she can maintain the link. the draithix won't work well...though for a first attempt it should b fine. we'll need something that uses eyesight as a primary sense. like a bird of prey."

"for this to work, she's going to have to learn the necromantic techniques to utilize it. it's essentially a modified bind sight spell, designed specifically to give her the animal's sight for as long as she can hold it. the draithix isn't the best canidate because it uses its nose and ears more. and those she doesn't need help with. but a bird of prey would be perfect as their sight is their primary sense they use. and where the animal can go, she can see. the further it's sight. so to is hers."

She laughed and couldn't resist pressing a light kiss to the child's forehead. "Are we that loud?" That was amusing, now wasn't it? Then again she and Khai had gotten into the habit of playing around with each other shortly before the wedding. Of course Khai didn't seem nearly as eager to play now...which kind of made her wonder. But she turned her attention back to Savvy. "We can ask Malikhai to ask him." Because she didn't like Malik and she knew Savvy didn't like to ask her father for things. "What do you want to do now, sweetheart?"

"Of course it is. These guys wouldn't be around if it wasn't." Gesturing to the necromancers nearby but she at least heard him out on the matter...which was highly interesting to listen to. However while believing thier daughter wasn't necessarily limited from most things, she did indeed have her limits as she had only learned so much one way before she was back to learning basics in a whole new way. Perhaps Piper worried more than she needed to, but who could blame her for doing so.
"Next thing you know, I'll have an exhausted little elf on my hands because she'll want to do it all the time and depelete everything she has at one time." Necromancy schooling was the least of her concerns. He seemed awfully confident about this. "You think she can even learn what she'll need to know?" Savvy got frustrated rather easy...just last week they were indeed having meltdowns over boot laces.
"I like the noise." But she gave a little shrug as options were thrown out to her again. She tended to amble onto things and get involved somehow or another that way. However something else seemed to cross her mind. "Guess what? Mama said I can have my own room soon. Can you make it look pretty for me?" For whatever reason, she cared if her room looked good or not, even if she couldn't enjoy it. It was just nice knowing.

She reached out and took the child's hand in order to walk her back to Malikhai so she could ask for what she wanted. "Your own room? That's really neat, Savvy." She was assuming that by making it pretty Kaelin was supposed to paint it. "Sure. I can paint anything you want on the walls or the ceiling or even work with Lyssthyren Inthara to find you some really neat bedspreads and things." Entering the room she shared with Khai, she settled on the floor and nudged Savvy. "Go on. Ask him."

"My daughter can learn anything she chooses to learn. in her blood is centuries and generations of magical talent, from both sides. and I have assurances that she will be taught how to do what needs be done. or certain other people are going to learn whole new definitions of the words 'pain' and 'suffering'."
a hard look at his necromancers before a light sigh.
"While I still may harbor hard feelings. and I know I am far colder to my daughter then I am to my sons, this accident could and should have been prevented. My anger, my indifference, cost her her sight. and I have found a method to give it back to her in some degree. I'm not saying that I forgive what happened. I'm not saying this will fix everything. but it's a start. a foundation if you will."

"Mhm, I'm almost old enough to have my own room now." Or so she was told. Another place to memorize, but that wouldn't be too hard. A grin though, "You can make Lyssie visit?" She didn't come by often either, as those Inthara kids were rather independent and nest flee-ers. However it seemed she was tasked with asking her brother things and she wandered back to him. "Khai, can you ask daddy if we can have a big dinner, since you're back now and before you leave again? You'll starve because you're hopeless sometimes when you're all about." Mama liked to say that.
He rolled his eyes as his sister was picking things up from his mother. Grand thing that, wasn't it? Yeah no. But at the very least it was amusing. "Big dinner hm? You just want to be all fancy with food, I know you. But hey, why not. I could use a good home cooked meal so I'm not objecting. Besides, I saw we had company and company should always be fed properly am I right? Let's head down."
It always amused her to a degree how he threatened such things. It was second nature for her to hear such things now. But indeed he was confident about this all and apparently was connecting back to things neither of them liked to talk about much. "It was both our faults, you know that." He hand less than child friendly things, and she dragged the girl everywhere...she had never blamed just him for that accident. But she understood where he was coming from...Khai had the touching attitude at that age and Malik had always been quick to grab him away from things he shouldn't touch, as well as Dhairiss. "I suppose it can't hurt to try. If it works, then great. If not...well, we go back to the way things are." Turning a look to him then, "You're eventually going to make me find a bird, aren't you?"

"I can make many things happen, little one. Just think about what you want on your walls so I can start figuring out how I'm going to do it." And it seemed Khai was all over the idea as well which was a good thing since Savvy seemed really excited about it and it was important to Kaelin that the child be happy. "I'm sure your mother wants to have some kind of celebration now that we're back anyway. She didn't really get a lot of time with us after the wedding before we left." She let Khai lead Savvy this time and brought up the rear as they all traipsed downstairs.

"That's how wedding are. You're supposed to ignore everyone else after it, have them leave you alone for a while and then let them bother you for however long they want." But he didn't take his sister's hand as he knew she didn't like hand holding and stairs and merely let her take her time down them as they all headed downstairs. Hm, the parents were in the basement? What were they doing down there? Let alone together and not angry at each other. "Ugh, they're in the basement."
"I went to the basement." Because she felt like she needed to say. "Daddy made my friend all better after we had an accident. I made it down there all by myself."
"So that I don't hurt you when I found out things on my own and frowned on it all for you doing it behind my back? Because you know that would get you kicked out of the bedroom and such. Possibly the house itself." Crossing her arms lightly with a slight contemplative look. "Prove to me this will work and I'll get you a bird."

"then how about we test it after dinner. well let her have her friend back, we'll do a little transfer attempt and see if it works. if she can hold it, then we go for it. if she can't or it doesn't work at all, back to the drawing board. but at the very least she'll have a friend that can't have fatal 'accidents' with."
tilting his head up toward the doorway.
"I think the newly weds are out of hiding."

"Then I guess we had a completely normal one." He knew about weddings, she didn't. In fact, she hadn't had a clue what happened next after Malikhai had proposed. That's where Piper had come in and Kaelin had grown rather close to her between taking care of Savvy and planning her special day. She frowned at the child's words and wondered if Malik had been annoyed with her for going downstairs when she wasn't supposed to. "I think we should just wait for them to come up."

"Fair enough...but you know how I feel about your staff and their training methods and I'm not going to have them torment her on end because she won't be snap quick like the boys were." Yes she had the potential to learn, but they both knew it would take her longer. Slow and steady did tend to win races though. Looking up as well she gave a not and turned on her boot heel, starting out and up. "Time to torment them then."
Not completely normal but he wasn't going to argue that with her as it wasn't worth the ire that would come of it all. Things moved at different paces for all people. "Did you? Those are some tough stairs to get down. I've tripped down them half a dozen times." Nodding in agreement with Kaelin and it wasn't long before both his parents came into view. "Both hiding in the basement hm?"

"Because they're so steep and long." She kept an eye on the stairs and watched Malik and Piper come up then glanced sharply in Malik's direction. How would he know that? It was yet another instance of Malik having information that he really shouldn't. "We had a really good time. Andal was beautiful, but you knew that already. We stopped in and saw the grandparents and they gave us the keys to a cottage in Torea."

"Yes we heard. You made him all better." Not that they still had any idea what that accident had been, only that things were better and she wasn't upset so it apparently wasn't anything to worry about. "Big dinner works. Nothing like the taste of home in your stomach." And look at tht he didn't even have to ask. Or his dad was playing with swords and such again. "It was nice. Get away from it all, have some time off, spend some time together, all that great stuff. I'll tell you what though, since those two got off the throne I swear they're more laid back than any elves I know. They're coming for a visit soon by the way."
That pleased her extremely well and she rocked back on her heels with a happy sound and clapping her hands together once. She was going to get him back! She though she was going to have to wait longer. And they were going to have big dinner too! A habitual look up however as her mother tapped her on the head and she grabbed onto her hand, equally happy.
A smile to her daughter before looking to the older kids. "Well, good. That means you're ready to get back to the grind so I can make your father take a vacation of his own." Petting at Savryn's hair before nudging her off toward the dining room, "Those two are nothing but trouble makers. Didn't know they'd gotten a place in Torea though too. Though I shouldn't be surprised I suppose."
