They were dancing around the bushes with this weren't they? ot that she really understood what that meant because it was weird but she assumed it fit this situation. Okay so we had a box...and something that felt stuffed, and one was wrapped. Using her toes to feel out where her brother's feet were she edged around him to the bed and set the things on it, picking up the wrapped one first.
Pulling the paper off, she let her hands feel the little object out. Hm...this one was tough. Giving it a squeeze it made a purring noise that startled her but she settled quickly. Hm, lets see here..."It's...like Rawr, but not. Right?" Guessing games were so difficult these days. But she set that one down and moved on to the box, feeling it out for the latch and opening it. Reaching in tenatively she let her fingers graze over wood and...what were those? Tight strings? Tugging at one her ears twitched at the sound the vibrating string produced. But clearly the look on her face said she was at a loss. "What is it?"
"The soft one is a stuffed draithix, yes just like rawr save he purrs. The other is a lyre. It's something that makes music. You could learn to play it you know, you don't need to be able to see. Musicians play with their eyes closed all the time."

Watching the child use her own special ways to feel things out, she nodded approvingly even though the child couldn't see. It was good for her to try to puzzle some things out. "And you can learn something that none of your siblings know." She picked the lyre up out of the box and gently ran her fingers over the strings. "I only know one song that I can teach you but you can make up your own songs or I'll have Isleandra send some music that you can play." Reaching over and tucking the loose hairs behind her ears. "Try it out, Savryn. See if you like it." Handing it over and positioning it in the child's hands.

The instrument had been Kaelin’s idea, and a brilliant one at that because she had been right when they were talking about it. Music hardly meant you had to use your eyes and she could learn by counting strings and such, memorizing what sound went with what number and well, why not at least let her have a shot at something?
“But I can’t read anymore.” Which she really really missed as she had enjoyed reading a lot. Granted they had been trying to teach her lately again with a thick ink that was slightly raised off of what it was written on when it dried so that she could feel the letters out, but thus far she hadn’t made any success with it as her brain wouldn’t put two and two together from what she knew in the past. Cause of a tantrum or two.
But she let Kaelin fix her hair and straighten how she was supposed to hold such things. A superficial look down at what she was holding before she let one hand pull fingers across the strings, making them sing. A few passes over before she had started picking at the strings she found she liked the sound of most. If anything, it got a smile out of her.

Watching the child, Kaelin knew it had been a good idea. Malikhai hadn't been sold on it and she'd wondered a time or two herself if she wasn't setting Savvy up to fail at something, but the look on the child's face made it all worth it. She leaned against Malikhai's shoulder and watched Savvy playing deciding she could always teach her a song or two later. "See? Khai and I bring back good presents. And once you learn to play a song you can even play it for your parents."

"They won't be annoyed, right?" Because she didn't want to annoy her father at all, as she knew he had a low tolerance for things. But it would be nice to be able to play music. It made her ears and fingers feel all tingly. However she gave them both a smile, gathering up the stuffed animal and clutching both objects close to herself. "Thank you!" Because manners were important now weren't they? But she took a moment to find the box with her free hand so that she could put the intsrument back in it as she had a sense of what was delicate and what wasn't...well, most of the time. Living things always threw her off. "Can you put it in my room where it won't get broke?"

the trouble with blind people...is that they don't always sleep with their eyes closed. after all...everything was black to their vision. so while they were waiting for her to talk..she had obviously fallen asleep from the long trip. Malik gave an annoyed frown but shrugged lightly.
"Seems our guest has fallen into slumber from her trip. would you like to see what I'm working on?"

She bat at him on his bad manners of the moment but humans were humans and well...they had their weaknesses in other areas. Though she didn't comment on it herself, seeing as with what brief time that they been around each other she didn't sit too well with Delta. But Malik did get a raise of an eyebrow. "You mean I get to know right out of the gates?"

"Yes, you get to know right out of the gates this time. Unless you'd prefer not to know and then yell at me later for doing it anyway?"
smirking lightly at her batting on him and tapping her nose in response, before getting up and offering his hand to help her up.

A glance up at Malikhai on that one. Kaelin was hesitant to answer because Malik was such a wild card to her. Honestly, she wasn't too fond of her father-in-law. He yelled and he seemed to know things that he shouldn't know. But it really upset Kaelin the way he treated his daughter. Even though she understood it to a point, it made her quite angry when Malik refused to give the little girl the affection she so desperately craved. Especially since he'd always been free with it with his sons. And Savvy had seen the difference when she was younger, too. "Your mama will be very excited," she said honestly and then took the box from the child. "Of course I will. I'll put it on your shelf where you can play it anytime you want, okay?"

"As much fun as it is to torment you for your wrongdoings, I think I'm going to go the other direction this time." Taking his hand and letting him pull her up from where she sat so he could lead on to...wherever. "You don't seem to concerned, as if this is something I'd like more than hate."
Khai gave a pat to Kaelin's hands before he let her go to help his sister. It was nice that the two go along. Kaelin seemed to take to his sister quite quickly and tried to spend time with her when she could. It was nice. "All elves enjoy music Savryn. They won't be annoyed." Reassuring his sister on the matter.
That got another smile from her as they both soothed her worries on things. Letting her take the boy, she snugged her draithix plush before she started out of the room. "Come on!" Yes she was excited, but she rarly ran. Made her balance feel off. "Don't put it up high. Mama doesn't like me climbing things."

Since their wedding a week prior, she'd gotten in the habit of kissing Khai when she left the room so she pressed her lips to his briefly and then was being tugged by a very insistent little elf's voice. "I'm coming." She held the box carefully and made her way into the nursery, setting the box on a low enough shelf that Savvy could reach it but high enough that animals and accidents couldn't get to it. Taking her hand, she led her to it and allowed her to feel around and learn where it was. "Will that work?"

Even at her young age, she was a neat freak. Born of course from her memorizing things and not wanting them to move at all or else she was all confused. While Kaelin put the instrument up, she wandered to her other toys, felt out a place for her newest one and then set him in there accordingly, taking a moment to remember which ones he was inbetween. Letting Kaelin redirect her she did the same with the box. It was between the music box and the clay butterfly. With enough space so that if she pulled the box, it wouldn't knock the other things down. "Yes, that's good." Looking up at Kaelin, as she still tended to do with most people but was usually off target, "You're not leaving tonight, right?"

a small grin and leading her downstairs, to the necromancers and his daughter's accident that was 'fixed'.
"this animal won't work well for the method, but we've found a way we think to give my daughter back her vision..at least in short terms of time. with an animal companion that can never die."

Her fingers slid over the painted butterfly wings for a moment as she was taken back to that long ago day when she'd made and painted it with Dhairiss when he was just a little boy. Had it really been so long that she'd been around the D'vinn house? Her gaze slid down to the child and she kneeled down and took the little girl's face in her hands gently so she could ensure she had her attention. "No, sweetheart. Malikhai and I will be around for a long while. Our house isn't even finished being built yet. We aren't leaving anytime soon. I promise, okay?"

Well, she was hardly around his necromancers, mainly because Malik liked to keep them away and she liked it that way. His daughter? Usually that was 'our' or just 'the' daughter. That made this all the more intriguing but she merely tilted her head at the little draithix pup that was sitting here...he didn't seem quite right though from a visual perspective...he was quite pale and what not. "Exactly what do you mean by that? It would be cruel to give her back something and then just snatch it away again because it's temporary. And all animals die...unless let me guess, that one is already dead."
Okay we were supposed to be paying close attention. The information she was given only gave birth to a wide smile and a nod between Kaelin's hands. "That's good. I like it when you're around. It's quiet when you're not here." And the boys got rowdy and when they did she didn't have fun. "You gotta convince daddy to have a fancy dinner becaue you're back." It seemed special enough and she liked it when they were all together at the table.
