"You can pet him, after all he did what he was told and he should be rewarded for that. But you shouldn't pet him in the way he wants. He wants his belly scratched and he only gets that if he does what he's told and keeps at it until otherwise told. Give him a scratch and pat between the ears instead, briefly, and then no more. He has to earn his belly rubs."

She glanced down at the creature still lolling about by her feet and shook her head. He was probably going to be upset with her if she didn't rub his belly but Malikhai was the boss. Crouching down, she gently patted him on the head between his perked ears and then straightened and crossed her arms. "I can't give you anymore than that, Yinn. Now, come up here and lay down." Pointing the bed and even adding in a snap of her fingers to enforce her ruling.

Delta waved a hand. "People want what they don't have. The power they currently have is irrelevant."
"Their purpose..." she sat a moment, her pupils twitching as she thought. "Something to do with the whether perhaps. They're big, there's more than one." She messaged one temple. "It is difficult to discern. I have difficulty seeing beyond my own time."
"One track mind, like a dog." Aella gave Onyx a little kiss on the nose. "In the mean time, I need to go get the acid." A smile, 'it's not sometihng I generally carry around with me."
With that, she twirled her staff and used it to pole volt to the next roof, off to a small nook in the walls around the city where she hid such useful items.

"weather? that doesn't see overly dangerous. at least not plane collapsingly so.."
rubbing his chin lightly, before glancing at his wife and daughter.
"Well the only one in my service who is an expert in arcane devices would be Wist. maybe he can find out something if you can provide us anything more on the nature of these devices."
A smirk.
"Am not."
Though purring at her kiss on his nose, and waiting like he knew to while she got things..keeping an eye on the streets and the people below. listening for any tidbit of useful information.

Yinn seemed confused and rolled himself back over, looking up at her as if expecting more and not getting any from her. His ears twitched as she was telling him to do things again. He got himself up and hopped up on the bed, laying down where she pointed and duly presented his head for scratching.
“Irritating perhaps at best, though quite the damage causer in the right ways.” But it didn’t surprise her that it was something of the sorts one really was at mercy to unless there was a source that could stop such things.

She'd expected him to snap at her or paw at her or even bite her but he didn't do any of those things. Instead, he actually hopped up onto the bed and laid down like she'd asked. Surprised, she stood there unsteadily a moment and then bent down and gently pushed her nails through the short fur on his head, curving beneath his ears in a spot she knew he really liked. And then it was a turn to Malikhai with a huge grin. "He listened! I told him to lay down on the bed and he did it! Oh, thank you, Malikhai!" Throwing her arms around his neck and plopping a kiss on his lips with another grin.

He always did like how such seemingly simple things made her so happy. She could appreciate the little things and enjoy them when the rest of the world expected grand things for them to bask in and what not. Nuzzling at her lightly he gave a grin and a nod. "See, told you he'd listen. You know he'll behave for a good scratch and the right tone. Just work with him more and you won't have any problems with him. He'll mess with you from time to time, but that's just him."

"Kind of like you. I see why you two get along so well." Another scratch or two at the draithix who wouldn't purr but was at least listening and letting her touch him and she stepped away once again. "We should go find your parents and your sister. I promised her I'd come see her the minute we got home so she could have her present."
She plopped a kiss on his cheek and headed for the nursery to find the little elf. A servant informed her of the child's location and she moved downstairs, frowning at the small group of adults gathered. Coming to a stop, she gave a short, low whistle the way Malikhai had taught her to get his sister's attention.

Savryn's ears twitched at the sound she was getting very familiar with. It wasn't used much but it worked when needed. She blinked at the feeling of her mother picking her up from where she sat and setting her on the floor, giving her a gentle nudge. Hm, this must all be grown up time.
Thusly moving toward that sound of earlier, feeling out in front of herself some of course as she tried to reorient. Soon enough she wandered near Kaelin, but wasn't exactly her happy self yet. She still didn't have her friend back anymore. "You're home!"

Surprised her knees hadn't immediately been clasped, Kaelin dropped down to the child's level and took her hands so she knew it was her and not her brother. "We are and we brought you a present, too. But you'll have to make Malikhai give it to you because he's got it." Kaelin glanced down expecting to see chocolate or candy or even glue on the child's hands and her blood ran cold at the sight of blood. She recognized it easily enough and it was bright red against the child's pale skin. "Sweetheart, what happened?"

Oh hey, it was Kaelin. She still couldn't tell people apart when they just made sounds. It was a little frustrating at times as she didn't know who to address. "I get a present?" That got a little smile out of her happily, even if she was going to have to get it out of her brother. A blink of confusion at the change in tone but feeling Kaelin's thumb brush her palms, she knew there was something on them from before, she just wasn't sure what. She knew when it got there though. "I had an accident."

"Yes, you do. Something we both thought you'd like quite a bit." Actually two things but she hadn't been able to resist. Her brow furrowed at the stricken look on the child's face and she brushed her hair out of her face and noticed the tear stains as well. "Did you? That's alright, accidents happen. Let's go wash your hands. You don't have to tell me what happened if you don't want to." Scooping the child into her arms, she headed for the bathroom and set her on the stool then turned on the water and guided the child in the process. She knew pretty much how to do things on her own, just needed a bit of help when things were moved.

"Daddy made it better." That was all she had to say on the matter as she let Kaelin cart her off to wash her hands, doing that with little effort herself. Though she was quick about washing her hands as she didn't want to hear the water running for two long and waited for a towel to be handed to her so she could dry them. "Are you two leaving again?"

"That's what Daddy's are for." At least that's what Malikhai had told her. Aware of the child's fear, she wet a washcloth before turning the water off and began to gently scrub at the more stubborn spots of blood on the child's hands. "No, not for a while anyway." Handing her a towel and washing out the cloth. "Are you afraid we're going to? Must have really missed us, huh, Savvy?"

To her that sounded more like a yes than a no on the leaving issue. That didn't make her happy at all. However she took the time to scrub and face and hands dry before folding the towel and setting it on the edge of the sink. "Uh huh. Dhairiss went camping with Kelli and said I couldn't come. I didn't have anyone to play with while mama and daddy were working." And well...her friend broke. "Why would you want to leave?"
