She had indeed realized something. In that moment it had become blindingly clear that she would have given up her life for Malikhai had her 'mother' asked her for it but she would have done no such thing for either of her 'parents.' And then she remembered that fluttery feeling that had welled up inside her chest and what Malikhai had said beforehand. He loved her! It all fell into place and she understood now why he'd been so upset with her. Her eyes rose to meet Isle's, her own shining with the discoveries she'd made silently within herself. "Like love. I didn't say it back, though. I didn't know how to..."
He'd found her... She'd retreated to the library because it was the last place he'd think to look for her but if she wasn't mistaken, and he hadn't done anything to Galesen, it had been the first place he'd looked. She gritted her teeth to keep from defending herself, crossing her arms and reigning it the temper her mother had given her. "It's just sex. I don't see what the big deal is!" Glaring at him and crossing her arms then gaping. "What?! You...can't do that!"

And more good had just happened, or so she thought according to what else the girl was doing. Wow, she didn't expect to be good at this. But she had learned a few things on her own too. A blink as love came up...well Isle was anything but an expert on that. "It's easy to know how to say such things. You just speak from your heart."
"You don't even know what I'm yelling at you about! It's not about the sex Lyssthyren! You can go have as much sex as you want long as your responsible, I don't even care with who. But you are not going to parade around as your mother and do it and you're not going to continue acting like a child. You're grown and need to start acting like an adult. And yes I can do that, you need to stop playing Queen of the Kids so that they pander to you."

"Yes, I suppose that is easy. I do love him so it should be easy to say it, right?" She glanced around and frowned as she suddenly remembered that he wasn't in the room anymore. He'd brought her mother back, too... He'd mentioned to her that she was supposed to be resting so she really didn't think it wise to head downstairs to find to if he was done yet. "Have you ever done it?"
"I do too!" She shook her head and mumbled something under her breath then faced her father as her temper ignited. "I can't, okay! I tried! I tried seducing Nadai and that didn't work. He patted me on the head like a child. Then I tried seducing some of the boys at school but they're too young to really know what they're doing. And then I saw Galesen and thought I'd try my luck and sure enough, Mom had a thing with him at one point. And that's what you're so pissed about, Daddy! And if I knew what I COULD do, then maybe I wouldn't have to go back to that school. You're too busy with Faate to even find out about my life so don't even give that crap to me."

"then why don't we add I'll buy her off you to option one."
watching her a moment.
"You aren't getting her back. if she was your real daughter, I wouldn't give her back for your abuse. as a slave girl, she's more valuable to me then you anyhow, seeing as she's infactuated with my son and vice versa. I can give you a slave that will do the work you need done. But this is a fight you can't win. the deck is stacked against you so many ways as to make this continued problem a foolish endeavor at best."
Cymarron's tail swayed back and forth, and he titled his head lightly.
"We will help. make her body strong...call on the ox, the rhino, the elephant."

Whomever 'him' was, she was quite hoping that it was indeed Malikhai, as she'd seen the two being quite close. Otherwise this was going to be awkward later. "Tell someone I love them? Aside from my family, no. But I'm not ready to be in love either. If you can say it, then you're ready."
"They did that because they could tell what is an illusion or were too imtimidated to try anything as you trounce around in your mother's guise. Galesen didn't know if was an illusion. Detecting them is not his strong suit. What happens with after you lie to him, as you mother, sleep with him as your mother and then make him think it was all well and dandy. Next thing you know, he's hitting on your mother and trying to sleep with her because you made him think it was a green light, despite the fact of me." She probably didn't even have and idea how he personally felt about it either, not care.
Lyssthyren! I've always been there to listen to what you have to say, but you don't want to say anything! Faate comes to me. I love all of you, every single one of you. Even though Zykariel can be a b*****d, Faate can be a so dead inside and out sometimes,Kelligrin can try my nerves with his obstinance, Kithaan can annoy me to no end. It doesn't matter. And that doesn't mean I feel any different about you. I know you think you can't do anything in this family because you aren't tip top strong with magic. Magic is not the be all and end all of the world. Other than that you won't say anything. Going back to school every year doesn't help you at all! It's just stunting you and keeping you back from finding what you want."

"He said it to me first and I didn't really say it back which might be why he ended up so upset. But he was upset with my mother, too." Frowning then as she had to restrain the protective urge she'd always felt toward the older elf. "I've been lied to my whole entire life. I wonder where my real mother is..."
"I don't know if you can, Cymarron. There aren't very many things that she can actually take potions-wise and other magics will interfere with the baby growing inside of her. She's a sucker. Gets as much nutrition, magical energy, and reverie as she needs and then some."
"No. She's worth far more than you could ever pay, Mailk D'vinn. She satisfies a debt I'm owed and her life is mine. Nothing else will suffice. And because she's payment, it's not up to you how she's treated. You're just going to have to learn to tell your son no. A nice slap or two helps to stop the whining."
"A child could see through my illusion. Kithaan would have!" It wasn't her fault if Galesen had thought she was real thing. She just thought he was playing around for his own benefit. But if he didn't know then that presented a whole new string of problems, mostly the one her father was now mentioning. "No, they did it because they don't want to have sex with me. And I'm still a damn virgin." Shaking her head and sighing. Here they went again.
"Fine. Tell me what I'm good at, Dad. It's not just the magic, it's everything. I don't have any talents other than seducing and apparently I'm not even good at that. I'm no good at potions, I'm only passably fair with almost every weapon you've ever put in my hand, I've never had the patience to sit down and tackle numbers and facts...what else is there? And I absolutely refuse to be someone's plaything, regardless of the amount of steel I can make."

Malik shook his head lightly.
"You are seriously overestimating yourself. I have told my son no on many things. things that you and most of Vesendar are not privy to. but I don't have to raise my hand to have my son's respect."
a light smirk at her.
"Tell me...you seem to think that you can actually get out of here if I choose not to let you out. I know your connections in Vesendar. I also know your 'husbands' and what he was up to and I'm even know working on who it leads to. I've enough evidence though, to paint both you in very, very bad light."
kneeling down again.
"Deals with the Llothian empire are not well liked by me, or vesendar. and I'm especially sure the idea of them raiding your city easier for a cut of the spoils won't fly well."
Cymarron snorted a bit and flicked his ears...before perking up.
"then we weaken one and strengthen the other. we can make the kit lethargic. and make the mother stronger. kit won't consume as much, and mother gets stronger, yes?"

"You know, sometimes it's better to not go looking for your past. Eventually in reverie it may come back to you and then you'll know things you may or may not want to know. But if you're sticking with the path, you never move forward."
"You can't assume that your magic is so low in potenence that everyone can see through it. It never takes much when trying to look like someone else and I have no idea why you've cut your hair like that anyway." Frowning some, "Oh yes, being a virgin is such a horrible thing Lyssthyren. Woe is you. I'd give anything to be a virgin at your age."
Giving back an equal sigh of frustration as they started into the same thing they always did. "I don't know Lyssie, I don't know. But you don't know either because you keep going back to school and settling for that. Maybe if you spend some more time in the world with the adults you would find something that holds your interest and that you like. And if you whore yourself out, I'll kill you so be thankful you absolutely refuse already."

And that was the other confusing part. Why didn't she have the reverie of when she was born? Why didn't she know in some instinctual part of her that her mother was a fraud? She should have known...really. "You know a lot, don't you?" It was a mere statement of fact, not a putdown or insult. "Who are you anyway? I don't think I've ever seen you before."
She gave him a look of disgust and then shook her head. "It wasn't my fault. There was an accident in potions and it was singed. It smelled awful and I couldn't fix it so I chopped it. I even lost my braid." Which was the one thing that defined her as an Inthara. "I have nothing to occupy my time with. You and Faate do runes all day, Mom does whatever the hell she does, I'm not babysitting Kit, and Kelligrin is well on his way to mastering every weapon in the Underdark." She plopped into a chair wearily and crossed her arms. "So, Daddy, throw out another suggestion."
She threw her head back and laughed. "You think to use what is mere hearsay against me? Malik D'vinn, I thought you were better than that. Don't go spouting off about what you don't understand until you get all the facts. I don't think you'll get the reaction you're looking for in Vesendar either. So why don't you just give me Kaelin and this will all be over."
"I'm already doing that." She didn't add that she was poisoning the baby on top of it. "I don't know if it will work but it's worth a try. Thank you, Cymarron but I don't think there's anything you can do."
He'd finally figured out direction and where he needed to be. Magic was rather good for that. His flames reaching out once again, he flew through the terrain, leaving scorched earth in his wake. Landing once more, his fire died in intensity but still covered his face. Yes, that was the place. Just over the next rise lay Twilight. He felt the sensors go off and backed away slowly, just out of reach. Now they knew he was here. All he had to do was wait.

"I like to think I do." Grinning at the younger elf whom seemed to be in some better spirits right now. "Isleandra Rainsong. I'm Piper's friend, came down for a visit to see her as she's been feeling a bit down lately, and that only leaves the mystery of who you are young elf."
"You could have asked before you chopped." But she was impulsive like that just like her mother. Sevilin pinched at the bridge of his nose, "How about you go out to Vesendar, or Honorsfield, or some place and take a look around? There are dozens and more trades out there if you were willing to look. But I'm serious Lyssthyren, I'm not having any more of this from you. Least you want me to treat you like a child then you can act like one again." And she was very aware that he wasn't treating her like a child. Though something spiked his attention and turned it from the girl. Talk about magical pyre. "What the hell is that..." He didn't like the feeling of it.
Piper steadied herself against the dresser in their room as something washed over her, making her feel worse than she ever had. The air had practically lit up like a flare of magic seeping off from something powerful and very close. "Oh Gods..." Feeling her knees give out from under her, she sank to the floor with a pained noise. Okay whoever was doing that better stop right now.

As Galesen ran throughout Twilight looking for Malik he suddenly collapsed onto his knees as if something struck him at the joints to knock him down. Whatever it was, it was really powerful and yet it put pressure on Galesen gently as if it wanted to bother him, poke at him in annoyance. He had to find Sevilin, at least he could easily find him. So after thinking of the possible places he could be Galesen took off and walked in on Sevilin who was talking to Lyssie. He gave the girl one brief look before turning to the drow. "Did you feel that? Wait, dumb question, of course you felt that." Shaking his head Galesen pressed his hand to his forehead and sighed. "Whatever it is, we better get Malik in on this before Twilight is on fire." He didn't wait for Sevilin as he took off again. After a moment or so Galesen finally found Malik with some woman who looked like she went through a fun time with the Breakers, he would not of been surprised if that was the case. "Malik, forget her for the moment, something is here at Twilight."

"Thank you, Galesen, for stating the obvious."
before looking at the woman.
"I'll give you some time to think over your real options."
before motioning to the breakers and leaving her and them to thier time alone.
"I want my wife taken care of first and foremost. Get sevilin on that. I don't care what he has to do I don't want whatever it is poking and prodding in her room. Second, this is your task. find my youngest son and get him here. I'll get my oldest."
Grabbing a passing serf roughly by the arm.
"Send word to Honoursfield, Deepwater, and Vesendar of a highly potent magical flare or entity, since we don't know where it might head or what it might be up to. and bring me Malvolence. I want any and all arcane experiments halted. I don't care the costs or results. Other the Sevilin's runics, I want this place magically dead to the best of our capability."
before letting that one go marching himself right toward his bedroom where the distress signals from piper came from.
Cymarron nodded lightly.
"We do what we can for our pack and our friends."
Before a sniff. was something burning?

Kaelin smiled pleasantly and nodded. "I'm Kaelin..." Frowning, she wondered if she could still use her last name since she'd basically left her family behind. "Just Kaelin. I used to live in Vesendar but now I live here with Malikhai, I suppose. He's been really worried about his mom lately. She's been having a hard time with the baby."
"Like I was going to walk out of that lab with singed hair." Her father ought to know her better than that. She scoffed off the idea of looking for a job and decided she'd consider it another day. At least now she wouldn't have to deal with the illusions b***h. Men would still want her, she'd just have to go looking for new prey. "Twilight is having a crisis. Surprise, surprise."
Zahara's own magical senses were instantly perked and she paused a moment, trying to figure out which one of her children was responsible. If It was Zykariel showing off, she'd take a spoon to him regardless of how old he was. He knew better. But that wasn't her children's signature, she could tell that even from here. Which meant that Twilight was likely in trouble and she patted Cymarron's arm. "It's appreciated. Why don't you come with me and see if you can help us with a different matter?" Leading the way downstairs to find her husband and figure out what was going on.
The intensity of his flames were causing some kind of havoc with whatever magical defense system the owner of the fortress had set up. He couldn't be harmed by the arrows being flung at him but they were annoying. He decided it'd be better to step back and await his quarry out in the field. He'd come....when he couldn't stand it anymore. And just to drive the point home, he whispered "We have the answers you seek" into Galesen's ear where only he could hear the faintest of whispered words.

"Everyone is worried about her lately and it's not hard to see why. They love her and she's not doing so well right now. Some tough decisions have to be made." Even Isle knew that much. Though she did perk up at the feeling of magic lighting up the air. "He could use your support right now."
She was impossible, that's all there was to it. She complained about no one listening but she wanted to be obstinate and not take any suggestion anyway. "You're impossible." Turning his attention to Galesen and giving his daughter the shush motion before further orders came back frome downstairs. "Go find Kithaan and stay with him, and don't question me." Turning on his boot heel and leaving her at that to tend to his own runics, shutting down some and diverting more focus to others...more pointedly the extra ones Malik had him set up around his and Piper's room as that was first, before moving onto more defensive measures.
Still on the floor and in an immense amount of pain from mind and body not reacting well to such a flare that normally wouldn't bother her at all and she'd merely shrug it off. Oh but not this time, even as it seemed to slack off slowly for whatever reason it was still tangible. Felt like overload.

"I hope she'll be okay...for Khai's sake." She'd never seen anyone dote on his mother the way he did. And it wasn't upsetting to her either. She understood how he felt because she'd had that same no holds barred love for her own--at least until she found out her own was nothing more than a tyrannical impersonator. "I'd have to find him to give it to him. He told me to go rest and then he took off. I don't know where he went. But I do know where he was. I could check there."
"I'm not a babysitter!" she called back but her father was already gone and that didn't change the fact that she'd been ordered to do it. He was still using the 'don't push me' tone and, despite her advanced age, she still feared it. Her father had never raised a hand to her but he had other ways of making her feel just as chastised as if he had hit her. Thus, she climbed the stairs and plopped down in the nursery with the two boys, watching them play.
Destyny came to a stop next to a rock outcropping and began pawing at the ground. Zykariel slid off his horse, patting her flank and then crept through the Underdark, keeping a wary eye out. Seeing the lone figure in armor sitting on the rocks, he frowned then stepped forward, dagger at the ready. The stranger's back was to him but there was still something familiar about him... And yet, it never hurt to be careful. "State your business on my land, stranger."
