Zahara's attention was on Piper and she glared at Malik. He'd given her energy, she could see it in the guilty look in Piper's eyes. "He'd better hope the judges don't figure out that he defied me. I'll stick up for him but as tournament champ it'll throw a pall over his victory." Wrapping an arm around her waist and gently leading her off the field. "How much water have you had today, Piper?"

A raise of an eyebrow as he was thrown new weapons. Was that even legal? Not that it mattered at this moment, reigning champion seemed to enjoy and be amused by it which meant to the judges that it was all well and dandy. As for Malikhai’s opinion…he enjoyed a good challenge. For all intensive purposes he had more or less bested Valten with an axe, it would be fun to see how good he was with a blade.
Second pauses were over that fast as he found himself dodging a cold blade that he could feel the temperature cool where the blade has been. A throw up of his blade against the other and ducking under it while strafing around Valten’s back to his other side, using his sword planting in the dirt as a pivot point to slide around. Pulling his sword from the dirt, he again went after Valten, hitting him with fluid strokes that all fell into one another, banging up at the jointing in his armor. Would kill that evasive abilities a little.
“I suppose then that it is a good thing he isn’t looking to win this time. He’s honestly hoping that Khai will.” Giving a sigh and letting her friend lead her away, leaning on her some. “Well…I don’t feel slosh-y and according to you, that means not enough.” At least she had learned some humor to this all, or else she’d be driven crazy.

Valten took several blows to teh back, while malik was working to his feet...before he whirled around on Malikhai, a flurry of red adn blue streaks where blades were swinging, catching him more then a few times with heat or cold, before tripping him with swift just ot his armor foot behind his ankle, just in time to whip up both blades to collide with Malvolence to keep himself from being beheaded and was on defense again as Malikahi's denting on his armor did indeed counter some of that flexibility against Malik's own red glowing blade.
Malik was keeping Valten on his toes, though he did give Malikhai a boot while he was down. it was simple strategy. when all three where o thier feet, blades swung everywhere, Malik and Malikahi were defending against eachother as much as Valten. when one was down, they tried to keep that one down while getting the other that was standing.

Down on the ground was never a good place to be and you got pummeled while you were down there. Thus they made efforts to not be on the ground. A roll out of the immediate path of the others and behind his father, flipping over on his stomach he flipped his blade in front of Malik’s ankles and grabbed it with his other hands, pulling towards him. Which meant Malik got his ankles taken out from under him and yanked to the ground. Though rather than go after his father this time he jumped up quick as he could and literally pounced on Valten and throwing them both to the ground, beating on his chest and helm with the pommel of his sword. This wasn’t all fancy swordsmanship after all. Someone just had to go down. Though now he knew to watch his back too as he father was actively looking to take both younger elves down.

What she should have done was remember thier last fight, as he got another dagger jammed up under his chestplate around his hip this time, while he was banging away at Valten's head and chest...before being flung off harshly with the heated blade leaving a hard dent on his breastplate... only to get his shoulder impaled where the armor met by Malik's own blade who was fixing to throw his son aside anyway...Malik receiveing a cold blade in his hip for his trouble.
Now all three had bleeding injuries in various spots. and Valten was up and while favoring his arm was still using it to fend both of the D'vinn's with one blade each. and doing a fine job of it. though Malik jerked the blade out of his son, flinging it aside into the dirt. which could be seen as dad helping son, or dad taking an advantage to make sure his son was bleeding from his wound not being stoppered by a blade.

Though annoying and on the short end of the stick here, he did enjoy the unpredictability of battle, even if it meant getting injuries for it. Adrenaline was his friend and once he was used to a pain, taking it a second time didn’t matter too much. Wounds healed. A growl was all that escaped him at receiving the ends of blades to his person from both parties. No his father was really leaving no space open in this one.
Forcing himself up again quickly, despite blood and bent armor that he was very close to throwing off but didn’t to not give himself a serious disadvantage at the moment, he turned onto his father, forcing Malik’s attention away from Valten. A split second of steely gray eyes meeting an almost identical pair and Malik would know what his son wanted and would go through to get. A hard shove to Malik, bolsetered by some magic in it to throw his father back off balance enough to make him give a moment’s pause before he was after Valten again, looking to take out the favored arm now. He’d just dismantle him more than he had the first time.

Watching some of the action, Zahara frowned and then nodded. "It's about time someone forced that boy to take what is rightfully his. He would have continued to give it up to his father until one or both of them were dead and off to the spirit world." She led Piper back to the booth where she'd come down from though if she had her way, it would be away from this competition completely. Piper would go insane not knowing who was winning or getting hurt though. "It's never enough." Procuring some, she handed it over and then gently checked Piper's forehead. "You ought not to give into all the babe's cravings, Pip. They only get her all excited and then she sucks off your energy faster."

Malik got thrown back a bit, twisting on his injured hip with a wince before the weight on it tore the injury more. Valten had picked that particular spot for a reason. and down malik went, blood splattering on teh sand some more from his own injury, and was recovering as quickly as he could, using Malvolence as a support to get on his feet.
Meanwhile Valten had his hands full with th eyounger D'vinn, though he was finding it much harder to try and 'dismantle him'. his uninjured arm and blade made up a great deal for the slack the other one got, and Valten had no tourble striking that injured area more the a few times with one blade while occupying Malikhai's with the other. not that he didn't take some heavier injuries to his arm and shoulder, but he was going pretty much blow for blow on malikhai's injured side as well...before shoving him off and down in the dirt with a shoulder block on his chest adn a headbutt, before turning his attention on the older D'vinn.
Both he and Valten had that look about them. that movement that spoke of enjoyment despite thier injuries, the thrill of combat, the enjoyment of holding your own against a worthy adversary. Valten's blade collided with Malvolence, and Malik dropped the blade, setting Valten off kilter a moment, which was all he needed to force Valten to drop one of his by jamming his hand in the dented and torn armor to physically rip at the open wound, elicting a howl from Valten that was counter By a cry from malik as Valten's other blade went in, and through, Malik's armor looking like he'd impaled the other eld though the injury wasn't nearly so fatal or bad, but certainly not pretty.
Both were locked together, blood spurting and pooling a bit. neither wiling yet to pull back form the other and chance a heavier injury. though occasionally Malik woud move a foot or attempt to shift them toward Malvolence to be stopped by Valten twisting or jabbing his blade a bit more, which made Malik tear harder into Valten's shoulder.

"Malik had him sign a contract this time saying he couldn't concede. Not that Khai paid attention to that...though it seems things have turned out to not need a contract as such." Trying to watch but not watch the tournament going ons at the same time. After all, she didn't want to see either of her men hurt or the like. Taking the water though, she sipped on it while being reprimanded. "And when I don't she only gets fussy and I end up getting sick. I swear I've lost more weight than I've gained with all of this."
This was turning into more of a knock down fist fight with each passing assult they made on each other. He could feel his shoulder taking more and more punishment and starting to give out on him, making him weak to his left side along with the other injuries there from dagger shanking. Thus he was down to one handing his sword.
However, there was a golden opportunity if anyone ever saw one. The two older elves more or less locked up and though to the spectators it looked more serious than it was, he knew the angle of blades and such from his studies. His eyes moved down to the dirt next to him and he reached out as he got up, his own sword in one hand and Malvolence in the other. A blood drinking sword of course, was always something nice to have.
Forcing himself to hold the two blade together with both hands he took a split second stand before bolting at Valten's back, Malvolence being shoved up under Valten's sword bearing arm right up through his shoulder and armor alike, and as Malikhai was falling from his own momentum in the movement he swiped his other blade across the back of one of Valten's knee before scrambling to try and get back up before they got him as well.

Valten couldn't do anything to stop what happened, being locked in with the older D'vinn who kindly let go when his sword jammed up through his shoulder..mostly to avoid taking the blade in his face probably as Valten hit the ground hard.
Malik wasted no time in retrieving his weapon out of Valten. who surprisingly was still trying to get up and use his less injured arm and sword in hand, though he was bleeding profusely. Malik took the time to shove him forward into a stumble, effectively getting him to his feet since they both knew he was pretty much out of this fight now.
Valten hit the wall, and turned on his 'helper' lifting his sword...and realizing his situation, knew he was beat. but he'd got what he wanted. he'd stood his ground, and held his own against the Butcher of Bloody Kithicor...and his son, for that matter...and had the battle scars and experience to prove it. so he gave a salute with his blade, before staggering off the field a bloody mess.
And then there were two. Malik lifted Malvolence up, resting it lightly on his shoulder and turned to his son. his expression was a poker face, except for the slightest grin. No, his son wasn't about to be given the chance to concede. but he'd at least let him get to his feet after the elimination of the other competitor.

And Valten was out but he wasn’t dumb enough to think this was over. If his father was going to let him out of this, he wouldn’t have been actively beating on his son through this all as well but focusing on Valten only. It seemed there was a moment of pause however in the arena, as one waited and the other was gathering himself back up.
Khai was finding it hard to breathe, what with his armor pressing in on him, his side aggravating everything and the already present exertion. He was battle trained, but not as hard as his father who was still standing on a more or less maimed hip. Letting his eyes slide over to his father he spit out some blood and straightened his posture, giving a cough or two but that was all. What he wanted to do, put him in more danger…or could spur an interesting situation as his father had a flare and enjoyment for battle in the most dangerous of terms.
Planting his sword in the ground for the moment he stripped off all of his upper armor, save his forearms and hands, letting it plop in a pile in the dirt, follow by his helm. Well...now he could breathe. A look up to the stands though, seeing how everyone was waiting for something. Usually this was the part where he bowed out.
But this time he cracked his neck, cleared his mouth of blood again, slicked hishair back from his face and grabbed his sword from the dirt, turning to his father and giving a nod. No, this match wasn't over yet.

a slight raise of his eyebrow while his son stripped armor off, showing the bloody injury at his side. though a careful look saide that the armor had been causing more trouble then protection after the damage done. His hip wasn't faring all that well with rent armor poking in it, nor was his side. now the question was should he press an unfair advantage, or somewhat level the playing field.
Alright, he'd level the playing field. taking off his breastplate and shoulder armor, tossing them aside. now they were relatively even. his sword came down, blade pointing to the dirt stained in blood, before he went after his son, in hard, quick strikes.

The displays of both of course got a reaction from the crowd. Malikhai wasn't going to back down and Malik wasn't going to let him go either and they had both just upped things. Sure, they would never hurt each other enough to maim or kill, but they were still only half armored.
As prepared as he was, he still wasn't prepared for his father all the way. Letting himself getting forced back and defend against strikes he was taking the time to adjust to the situation. This was just another challenger, that was all. Planting his feet in the ground, he locked their swords and pushed back, gaining back some leverage before he went on the attack of his father, using all the knowledge that he had been taught...and even some of the things his father didn't know that he knew.

Leverage was one thing, and he did force Malik back. and it became in interesting trick and dance. blades were nearly missing fatal or potentially so strikes, and Malik took several new injuries to feints and such that were usually reserved for much lighter, swifter blades. obviously some things he picked up from his mother or his grandfather.
But Malik had experience on his side...and Malikhai took a few hits of his own on some of his tricks that left places exposed that normally the bulkier armor he would be wearing deflected or covered. they both knew they had tricks magically up thier respective sleeves..but they both seemed fine right now just using natural skill and the blades themselves.

Spinning to avoid a strike he caught Malik in the jaw with his elbow before bringing his sword back to follow the stroke. When he saw opportunities he took them, knowing that his father would snatch them if he didn't. Though he knew he was going to have to get his father on his back in the dirt with sword at his throat to win this...the question was how to get him there and let his endurance keep up. After all, he had been through a whoel tournament now and Malik was fresh in the game. Thusly he looked to exploit already present injuries till he thougth of something.
