"Yes, yes I would. and you have a deal, I'll do my very best to make sure your hair is as well cared for as you want it to be."
running a hand through said hair. while waiting for the jousting to be all setup and ready to be used.
Cerrilia was regarding Valten carefully, though not saying anything. they'd both had thier glory moments, and she knew that Valten was already preparing himself for the joust.

"I don't need to make a fool out of myself in front of everyone by proving I can wave a stick around or impress with parlor tricks. I'd much rather be on a equal footing with my competitors and prove that I have the grit, dirt, and stamina to win." Not that he didn't respect his sister for competing or his best friend or anyone else. He just didn't see the point when everyone knew who the winner was going to be. And his best friend's refusal to fight his father was just...something. Malikhai called it respect; he called it something else.
"Your back is a wreck. It took more stitches than I'd like to mention to close some of the gashes your armor put in you. And I'm pretty sure you messed up some of your vertebrae, too. All that's fixed now, of course. Just be careful. Jousting brings everyone back in pieces."
"If she doesn't, I will." She slowly walked over, licking a finger and wiping at a smudge of blood next to his eye. His bag? She saw it lying on the ground in one corner of the tent and bent to swoop it into her hand then rifled through and pulled out a fresh pair of pants and a clean tunic. "Here we go."

"Crazy man." Letting him play with her hair though and merely waiting just like everyone else was, though her eyes were keeping tabs on people, like Cymarron, out of preoccupation. After all, if Cymarron was his good old self...well yeah, problems. "Appease my curiosity...who are you looking forward to fighting more out of those two? You know it's going to be one of them."
Jostling Faate lightly he nodded to her brother. "And that is why me and your mother don't compete and don't care what anyone has to say about it. Honestly, I don't care what anyone says behind my back anyway...if they mean their words, they'll say it to my face and prove it to be true."
"Yeah, make that a week instead of a few days. I promise I'll be good when tournament is over." At least jousting involved more sitting than standing. Just more chest pain usually. Did Kaelin just mom spit clean him? Though considering she wasn't his mom...well that made it better. "See Zahara, you'll have Kaelin tying me to the bed and making sure I stay here." Taking the clothing and changing out of bloodied attire. His armor he wasn't worrying about, seeing as he liked to change sets for jousting to a lighter smaller version. Less weight on him and his horse, but still protected.

"I am not crazy. and I think I would rather fight...Cymarron."
A slight grin.
"It's a hard choice, 'Chev. this Valten guy seems to bemnroe eager to prove his strength in some manner then anything else, and from what our youngest said was an admirer of the elf I used to be long ago. Malikhai I want to see him show his potential to me, on the battlefield. he's my zon, and I want to see him do better then his father. adn this would be a prime chance for him to do that."

"You don't go to that school. Mom does but all the boys want to...play with her so they wouldn't dare say anything nasty behind her back." Ever mindful of small ears and bigger mouths.
"Someone needs to. Your mother is in no condition to do so and your father and I have a bone to pick. He's been letting her take his energy even though I told him he couldn't do that."
"Is jousting dangerous? I've never seen it before. I usually have to be back home before this part of the competition."

"Don't even joke about that. I worry enough when you two are within sight of each other. And with his own worry tendencies, it's a whole other issue." Rolling her eyes, "Well...you're not who you used to be anymore. Yet you do like people to still believe that you are." Brushing some of her hair out of her face, "Well...I'm not taking care of any of you when you all get home. Remember that."
"I know what the boys think and I also know they're terrified to do most things anyway. You all may think I don't know what's going on but I know more than you'll ever be comfortable with."
"If you'd let me, I'd let her take mine. She needs all she can get right now and it's only going to get worse." Yes that was a sore spot for him as well, as he didn't like to think of his mother having bad days with worse yet to come. "It's pretty dangerous I guess, if you're not protected. One of those things that looks worse than it really is. Basically two guys sit on a horse with lances, and ride at full speed toward each other. The objective it to hit your opponent or better yet knock them off their horse."

"you mean you're worried if he found out you're having a hard or bad pregnancy he'd go nuts? have you strapped to a bed feeding you elixirs and teas and hanging fetishes all over?"
A slight grin.
"Yes, I know. you wouldn't help the beaten and battered boys if they go after eachother. but what if it was valten? would you take care of me then?"

Zykariel laughed and reached over to mess with his sister's hair. "I told you he knew." He got a tongue stuck out in return and that only made him chuckle even more.
"I can't let you do that, Malikhai, for the same reason I told your father not to do it; it's against the tournament's policies. If you give your energy to your mother through magical means it leaves a mark on you and you will be disqualified from the competition for cheating. Just like he will be if he walks onto that field and he's defied my orders."
Yeah, that sounded a lot worse than she was originally thinking and she really wasn't sure she believed it wasn't as dangerous as it sounded. "You're supposed to knock each other off your horses? Why would you want to compete in something like that? What does it prove? That you're a better a horseman?"

She blinked at him before a flat look. "Is that your way of trying to be subtle in affirming facts, A'mael?" Regardless of who his fact throwing was at, he was trying it. "But yes. That would be one concern." Grinning lightly before a light snicker. "You never want me to take care of you. You just complain that I keep you in bed too long."
"Yeah, but I can do it after tournament. Couldn't I?" However he knew one of the reasons why. When his father did such things, it make him temporarily weak as well. Someone had to be trusted to be able to protect things." Blinking at Kaelin's questions, "You know...I really don't know. I know it's a good show of balance and hand eye coordination, trust between horse and rider. A show of who has guts I suppose."

"and I told you last time that my foot was perfectly fine, even walked on it and you still cuffed me to the bed."
Frowning lightly.
"Maybe. you know I am concerned for you."
Jousting was not easy for Cymarron. not at all, even using his son's mount, Ironsides...his advantage to it though was apparently he was thick enough to make him a hard target to dismount.

"And the time before that, and the time before that, and oh the time before that. You may not complain about cleric like I do but you can't follow their orders either, even when it's best for you. Excuse my caring." Still holding an amiable look to her despite his frowning. "Yes, I know. And no, I'm not in denial about this. I'm just trying to get away with what I can right now before trying would be useless."

Sometime latter, Aella had proved that she could touch the back of her heals with her fingers tips...while bending backwards. Impressive to others but all too commonplace with her. An odd encounter with a crazy orc shaman had left her with a spine that was practically made of rubber. After this, she partook in a few sparring matches. There was a lot of spinning and jumping involved, but it was mostly just pretty moves.
Aella's form was all about avoiding and evading, waiting for a single moment to deliver a critical blow.

"You know your mother won't let you, Khai. I wouldn't have a problem with it as long as you were eating the proper amount and getting your reverie and not apt to go out and do something stupid with my offspring. But your parents have strict beliefs about you kids and what you can and cannot do. I can't break their trust with something like that and your mother has to be willing to accept the transfer or it's pointless anyway."
"Just don't show them those guts all spilled out on the tournament field." Because honestly, that's what was flashing in her head. The only reason that two men would go riding toward each other like that would be to slice each other to ribbons and spill the other's innards. "Please be careful."

Cymarron had forfited to Valten...mostly because he was aching and sore from the previous jousting and really didn't care for it. he'd proven to himself what he wanted proven, and went to his son for medical treatment..though he kept also close to Zahara, giving her a warm smile and a purr as moonstone examined and treated his father.
Valten stood high in his saddle, waiting at his end of the field, in thicker armor with a heavy half shield, and the lance tipped with skull. just waiting now, for D'vinn to come forth.
Onyx was most then aroused at her flexibility. and it showed in the way his eyes dilated and his tail swished...but he was also enjoying her martial practice, favoring speed and precision over brute force. He was more a brute force type himself, but his body was built for it. agile, quick, yes....but muscular and strong. In fact, if Cymarron took the time, he'd find some very disturbing similarites between his son, and the former Ward, Midnight.
Malik caressed her hand lightly.
"I worry, you know I do. but I'll do what I can, and anything I can to make things as easy on you as possible."

"Yeah, I know." It was frutrating that him and his brother really weren't allowed to help save for making things easier on their mother and helping out more. "Thanks anyway Zahara. Be my favorite aunt and mix me up a potion that can kill almost all pain?" Giving her a grin before turning his attention to Kaelin's...awkward statement. Right. Deciding to leave it alone, he kissed her cheek as his horse and lance were brought and he mounted up. "I will." A passing look to something familiar nearby before thusly heading out the the field to staring position, plopping on a much less dented helm.
"I know you will. You just need to start being more constructive about it. Unfortunately, we both know how this will go, but that's a blessing at the same time as we'll be prepaired." Nodding down to the field then at the two who were on it. "Any idea on Khai's new friend there yet? Usually you recognize people quickly but you seem just as puzzled as the rest of us this time."
