"I'm so sorry," she coughed again, attempting to stop the water works, "it's just that no one has shown any friendship to me at all since the day....since the day when.....oh, Lord, since the day I killed her. I've been so scared that someone was going to pop out of thin air and kill me too that when you showed such hospitality.....you're willing to hear my story?" she finished the ramble in a question, shooting Ryu a dirty look for the "pull yourself together" remark.

Ryushi glared back. Insolent little girl. Who was the one who brought her back here?
"That is what we are here for," he said, gesturing to his house. "You may tell me anything without fear of undue retribution."
Ryushi looked around him, growing sleepy. He hadn't slept all night, and it was almost morning. This incence wasn't helping him at all either. It filled his nostrils, invaded his mind. It had too much of holy feel to it. He detested it, and could see why his father loved it. That just made him hate it more.

Iro looked at Ryu from her seat-pad, knowing something besides the fact that she kept rambling was bothering him. She knew she couldn't force him to stay in a place that obviously made him uncomfortable, but for some reason she didn't think she could stand having to be infront of the one who would judge her alone. "Ryu...." she whispered, knowing the High Priest could hear her, "if you don't want to be here...." She bit her lip.

"Oh, no, I'm staying right here until I find out just what's going on here," he said quietly, his voice a harsh whisper. He wasn't going to go through all this trouble without finding out what the big deal was. Reitoku waited patiently for them to calm down.

Iro flushed at his harsh responce, then looked at the Priest. "Sorry for stalling," she said to him, bowing her head low. "Well, I suppose I should start by telling you how it started...." she whispered, the memories semi-painful. "The woman took me in when no one else would. My parents had died, you see, and no one would even look at me. But she, she took me in...."

Ryushi raised an eyebrow at her at these words. Was she still talking about the woman that she killed? That's an odd way of repaying the woman that took her in.
Reitoku simply let her go along, motioning her along.

Serenity smiled down at her younger sister Rose. "Don't be sorry...Rose I could never be angry at you...you did your best and I am happy about that." Serenity looked down the road and sighed. "So how far is this place you found the job at...I guess we should go back there...its rude to keep them waiting." Rose smiled back at her sister and laughed. "Well I was kind of rude enough. I kind of barged in pratically. The job is at a temple...I got lost and met some priests..I almost attacked them." Rose blushed and tried to smile. Serenity gasped and looked at Rose in disbelief. "You did what!"

Iro looked at Ryu and continued, "In the village I come from, everyone is extremely superstitious. When someone's family dies, it is beleived that they are destined for a bad end. So, when I was left alone, everyone disowned me, even my closest friends. The woman though, she was our town healer, and apparently she had a bit of pity," she looked sideways, "looking back now, though, I see she just wanted to use me...anyway, she took me in, taught me how to heal, and even started teaching me a few simple mana tricks. Then, she started telling me about a mana well nearby, something about 'using those stupid creatures that betrayed us to reap the glory that we need.' It all sounded corney to me..."

Reitoku remained paying complete attention to Iro. If any of this information was new to him, he showed no sign of it. He leaned forward, folding his hands in front of him as he listened, giving no indication for her to stop.
Ryushi was zoning out, staring at the side of Iro's head. If any of this made sense to him, he was sure doing a good job of acting clueless.

"Anyway," Iro said, attempting to ignore the fact that Ryu was staring at her in some sort of fogged over state of mind, "I went along with it for a while, thinking maybe helping her would be benificial in some way. Then, one day, she just went on an all out, underhanded, murder spree. She'd corner people every night, kill them in some grotesque sort of way for a reason I couldn't fathom, it had something to do with the well......" She stopped for a moment, the memories getting to her again. "Ryu," she whispered, "would you mind not staring at me? It's hard enough to remember this as it is." She turned her attention back to the Priest. "That's when I knew," she continued, "I knew I had to stop her somehow....so....so I....I killed her....and now the people think it was me who did all those other murders....and they're after me for killing thier healer..."

Ryushi grunted in response, not really having anything to say. He shifted his weight, and continued to look at Iro, but with attention this time, without zoning out. He was listening, and wasn't liking what parts he understood. After a moment, he looked at his father, waiting for him to respond.
He didn't though, for a while. He was thinking. It wasn't unheard of for conflicts to arise over mana. Sadly enough, it was common, and had almost killed all the humans, after all.
"Did you every find her motivations behind the killings, perhaps the connection between them and the well?" he asked, looking sharply into her eyes.

Rose blushed once more and shook her head. "Oh forget it...we should go back before it gets late once again." Rose started walked down the street skipping and humming to herself. In this light she looked like a mere child but if you knew her you knew she could turn into a murderer. Rose looked back at Serenity with a coy look on her face. "You coming or what." Serenity smiled and shook her head in disbelief. "Yeah I am coming." she ran after Rose and looked down at her sister. She was glad her sister was forgetting about what happened and was not gloomy anymore.

"I'm not completely sure..."Iro said, returning Ryu's stare, "all I know is that I had to stop her. I couldn't let more people die...." Iro looked Ryu directly in the eyes, grey meeting grey for the zillionth time. There was something soothing about his eyes....

"Hm," Ryushi grunted, holding eye contact for a second before looking towards his father.
Reitoku looked at the two for a moment, then spoke. "Where is your village?"

"On the smallest southern island," she said, reluctantly pulling her gaze from Ryu, "why?"
