Junko was a tad disappointed they had lost out in the first round, yes, but she didn't blame Malodore! Accidents happen. And she shouldn't be surprised, because she herself couldn't dress. It had been the cackling from Her that had bothered her most out of the entire situation. Junko was closely inspecting the small tear in her sleeve with a thoughtful hum; it was small and easily fixable, and it was at the seam anyway so she could hide it when she did mend it. No big deal! She was okay. The night was still young, and the party was still fun! She looked up to see who was still dancing. She saw Yaya and Sharra and gasped, raising an arm and waving to the couple. They were dancing though so she wouldn't bother them yet seeing how they were both in the contest still. Her gaze moving from them to the rest of the competitors, she blushed when she spotted Christof and his date. Whoa! She...she was...uh...that sure was an interesting way to dance with the boil! Junko forced herself to look away, not wanting to be thought of as staring, and noticed Riley fawning over Malodore. She smiled, tilting her head a bit and watching them quietly. That was cute!
When Riley walked away Junko watched her, humming and carefully following after her. She wanted to give her compliments! It was one thing to read their interactions on groanspring, but it was much nicer to actually see them together. By the time she got to the mindflayer she was texting something on her eyePhone and not paying attention, and so Junko got curious to see what she was doing and did something she wouldn't normally do! She stayed quiet and peered over Riley's shoulder. Oh! She was sending a message for her Critter! What did it say~?
Is this.. what I think it is? No. That's absurd. Our kind don't feel love.
Junko blinked. "What's wrong with love?"

Smerdle ROUND ONE MOTHAFATHAClearly. Clearly Holly didn't wear her pajamas all the time. Who knew? Certainly not West. He opened his mouth a crack, poised to pelt a thoroughly scathing chunk of mockery at the fox ghoul, but thankfully he was distracted by the return of Tsetsiliya. Dancing. Right. Now who was going to be mocked. Still, the hilarious shock of seeing Holly in a dress currently overpowered any shame he felt about the fact that his sense of rhythm was and probably always would be in the toilet. "Nope," West replied. The laughter that had threatened to bubble over in reaction to Holly's dress was still present and it colored his response, making him seem happier about the prospect of dancing than he actually was. "Not interruptin'. Holly, uh, I'll b'back."West offered Tset his arm once more and led her to the dance floor. "Now'ai can't dance'r nothin', but dun worry. If any'n'makes funna us I'll kick their asses." Reassuring? Probably not. Once he was close to the center of the dance floor, West held out his hands, positioning them on Tset's person like he had seen on Dancing with the Bizarre. A couple of shimmies and a handful of hops later, the demon found that not only was he still upright, but he wasn't doing half bad. Surprising, but not entirely unpleasant. Perhaps he could claim he was drunk or something if anybody asked. West's words, surprisingly, did bring some assurance to the poludnica, who ducked her head at Holly. "P-pardon us, we are being right back.." she said to the ghoul, before allowing West to lead her to the floor.
It was assuring that both of them were horrible at this (at least if what her partner said of his dancing skills was true), but then why were they doing this? West probably had a point to prove to somebody, somewhere, but Tsetsiliya was happy to follow along.
"A-alright," she replied to the wrath demon as he began his dance of sorts. She followed along, moving with whatever dance he was doing as best she could. This wasn't so hard! It was, daresay, a little bit fun. Tsetsiliya had not done much dancing outside of the strict dances of the ballroom, so getting to improvise a little was a nice change of pace. She stumbled a little from time to time, but managed to right herself as the dance went on. Not the most graceful dance, but she was enjoying herself at least.

ROUND 1
LW tilted her head towards her friend. Alessa hadn't been too happy with the boys. The she-wolf couldn't blame her too much. But she didn't want Alessa to not have fun! LW poked playfully at her side. "Come on, rabbit! You know that they will come crawling to us soon. Let's make them regret having made us wait so long!" An enthusiastic grin was turned towards Alessa and LW tugged her along to roam the crowd.
Red tail flicked from side to side as she watched more and more couples make their way towards the dance floor. It took her a few minutes to realize there was a dance contest! Oh skulls! LW chewed at her lip, not sure if she should drag Alessa out there with her. Though she had promised to teach her friend how to dance.
She turned to ask Alessa if she wanted to join her on the dance floor when two very familiar faces suddenly appeared in front of them. LW snapped her mouth shut and blinked. They both looked quite handsome right now. LW was finding hard to pull her gaze away from Gabrian, who was bowing in front of her. The she-wolf worked to follow his words and not admire how good he looked currently when he was taking her hand to place a soft kiss on it. Her cheeks started to burn and the she-wolf finally found her voice. "Th-that was very kind of him." Almost a squeak. Almost. "I...would be honored, kupcake." A giggle escaped.
And then he said that magic word. Violet eyes brightened and she stepped towards him with a big smile. "I'd be more than happy to grant you such an honor." She slid her arm through his as she spoke, gaze darting towards the dance floor before moving back up to his. Still with a stupid grin on her face, she walked towards the dance floor with her date.
Once out there, she was almost shy as she turned to place gentle hands along him. The she-wolf's tail swished as she met his eyes. "Shall we dance, dear nix?" She started the dance, but let him take the lead.

ROUND 1
"Ahhh..." he let out a dramatic sigh of pleasure, his good mood quite obvious, "That is but music to my ears, little wolf," he drawled out softly, "Absolute music to my ears," he took her hand gently in his and guided her to the dance floor, where he let go and bowed before her again, his movements dramatic and perhaps over the top. In his defense however, he was feeling rather happy and content with the world around him. As such, he had little to no trouble with actually letting go for once; he was going to have fun if it bloody well killed him!
Straightening up from the bow, he guided his hands to her waist and began to dance, slowly at first, mostly because he'd noticed the shy smile she'd offered, "We shall indeed," he twirled her and brought her back to him, smiling as his gaze lowered to her tail, "I like the way your tail moves. I also very much enjoy your dress; it looks lovely on you, and I'm most callous for not having mentioned it right off the bat," he was managing to keep the beat slow at first, if only because quite honestly, for now... he rather much wanted to feel her frame against his, "You must forgive me, I'm ..." he paused and seemed to consider this, "I assure you I am not drunk by the way."
Turning her, he took a moment to dip her and then right her, "How about... we up this just a notch? I know it's usually the boil's job to lead, but seeing as how it's you, my little wolf, that is the expert where dancing is concerned... maybe you should set the pace for the next dance, yes?"

Kuro-Mizuki "I was not being submissive," Ren replied, somewhat peevishly, to Gabrian as they moved further into the room. "I was being normal. Besides, you started it."
That was a rather childish way of dealing with things, but considering what had happened up in his room earlier...well, Ren wasn't exactly feeling all that mature at the current moment. His mind was already working to figure out a devious plan to get back at the nix - which he would. Soon. Somehow.
"I am not SULKING," he said - sulkily - turning bright red when Gabrian leaned closer. "WHO enjoyed WHAT exactly? HMMM?"
Ren would have probably said more, but he swallowed back the snarky reply he was going to say, instead letting the nix take him by the wrist and tug him towards the ghouls, the pair stopping briefly when Gabe found the dance sign up sheet. "Nerd," he said, but there was nothing mean behind his words, and Ren was smirking. He rather wanted to sign up himself, but that would depend on Alessa.
"WHO released WHO?" he said, casting what he hoped was a withering stare at Gabrian. "I never said I released you - "
Ren trailed off, eyes landing on the two ghouls. Who looked...well...
"Jacking hell, you two look incredible," he blurted out, and then grinned somewhat sheepishly, reaching a hand up to rub the back of his neck, his face tinged a light pink. "Sorry. That was loud. But, really. You both look...amazing."
Leaning down, Ren pressed a quick kiss to LW's cheek, patting her on the head and giving her a wink. "What did I tell you, hmmm?" he said, voice low. "Stunning." He still had to give her that thing, but he'd do it a bit later.
Ren turned to Alessa, tilting his head. He could tell from her expression that he was probably in trouble for messing around with Gabrian instead of escorting her to the dance like he should have, but his mind was still stuck on the fact that she looked...
"You," said Ren softly, stepping close and taking her hands in his and ducking his head to give her a quick kiss. " - look absolutely beautiful.
"Come on, darling," he said, tugging her forward with a laugh. "Let's dance."Ren and Alessa will be dancing like we've never danced before! Round 1!When Alessa saw the boils in the distance, she didn't hide her miffed look. Really, the two of them couldn't have goofed off some other time, for some other date? When the boils reached them, she was fully prepared to remain at least slightly annoyed for part of the evening. And yet...how was she supposed to do that with Ren staring and looking like he did? Jack damn, that wasn't fair. She couldn't even be mad for a few minutes? When he kissed her, despite it all, she had to relax. Well, alright, there was no use trying to be irritated if she wasn't anymore. He needed to stop being so charming, especially when his face got red under his freckles.
"I suppose you don't look too shabby either, even if you were dressing up for Gabe," she said, but it wasn't biting, only teasing, showing that she'd forgiven him for it.
When he pulled her forward she hesitated and warned, "I've never really danced like this before, so, um, just watch your toes." So she let him take the lead, because she honestly had no idea what she was doing. That was clear by her missteps, though, and perhaps the conservative nature of her moves. She really was trying not to step on him, because she doubted her heels would feel very good.

West continued gallivanting around the dance floor, his beginner's luck starting to fade the longer he went on. He still didn't fall, but not a one of his moves was remotely mambo worthy. Hell, they weren't even suitable for a hoedown.
He looked down at his partner, then smirked and shrugged. "No one seemsta care 'bout us," he remarked. "Ther'all too busy makin' idiots of'emselves." a** kicking would have to wait.

ROUND 2
The hunchback froze his bobbing the moment the Imp had suddenly wriggled her way around him. What... what was she doing?? His heart raced, hands going rigid at his sides, unsure of where to put them. Eyes wide like a deer in headlights, his mouth (unused to being free and functional) hung open in a mix of horror and shock. Was... was... was that dancing? It... it was to the beat of the music so it had to be a dance but what was she doing so close and he felt knees where there weren't supposed to be knees and hands caressing and her chest wriggling practically under his nose- up until the heal of her shoe suddenly failed on her and he instantly had a whole lot more Demoness on his person than ever before.
Instinct took over, and before he could even think, his uneven arms were around her, wobbling to get the taller, pinker creature up to her feet again- or foot at least. He trembled in place, locked as he tried to remember what lungs and intestines and heartbeats were. Finally, his eyes tore away from her embarrassed expression for just a moment and he managed to catch sight of Calder's Thumbs Up- but.... but... but what should he do now?? His expression towards the kelpie was terrified and desperate.
Unfortunately, it seemed Calder was preoccupied, what with the yelp of pain and the crumbling to the floor. The hunchback's eyes darted back to his date again, an anxious noise in the back of his throat.

After shooting a quick groanspring off to Jericho - not that she expected an answer until they were done dancing - Riley found her job a little boring, and had in fact been typing away on her eyephone into her Critter account. She liked her Critter account, because no one in the school read it, so she felt a little more comfortable airing out her grievances. Or her feelings. When she had them.
Of course, writing in it while sitting in a party may not have been her best decision.
Riley's finger froze after it pressed enter, and her head slowly tilted up to glare at Junko with wide eyes. She tilted her eyephone just slightly, to keep it from the ghoul's view - not that it mattered anymore. It was clear she'd read what Riley had written.
Nothing. Riley almost spat out in an high pitched, overly-quick response. I mean. Well, that's not true. Love is actually very troublesome. That is why we're taught to disregard the emotion. Our lives are in a constant flux on the cusp of death - being in love is foolhardy. It's.. She sighed, and put her eyephone away. It's not a good idea.
Her eyes refused to look up. She'd been particularly good at finding herself charging headfirst into some bad ideas, lately. There was no mistaking how she felt - this was no different.
And don't read behind someone's back like that. She quipped at the ghoul, finally looking up. Her face had turned a healthy shade of purple. It's rude.

Well. No use being shy, Siddie supposed, even if they were a little late. (That might have been her fault. She hadn't thought she'd spent that long dressing, but, well ... ) At least they could still try dancing. "Let's try the contest," she said, and dragged Sammy along with her to sign up.
Siddie and Sammy will be dancing like we've never danced before!

ROUND ONE
Ren lifted a brow. "Now, who said I was dressing up for Sir Snake?" he said lightly, interlacing his fingers with Alessa's and leading her out onto the floor. "Perhaps I dressed up for some beautiful nagual named Alessa who I probably owe for making her meet me at the dance instead of escorting her like a proper gentleman should."
Grinning at her, Ren spun Alessa up into his arms, easily maneuvering the two of them on the dance floor. He had been taught growing up to dance; his parents had forced him into taking lessons to put on appearances at the various parties and gatherings they had dragged him too. He had never before thought of putting it to good use; in his mind, it was all very useless and way too frivolous.
However, he was thinking quite differently at the current moment. Ren's arm slipped around Alessa's waist, gently turning her into a loose spin sliding his hand to rest lightly on her waist. His other hand held her fingers gently in his own, as if holding something delicate.
"Have I mentioned..." Ren said softly, stepping closer as he slid a foot back, moving both of them simultaneously. "...how beautiful you look tonight?"

Dark Fire Angel Morton pulled slightly on his clothes as Coralie spoke, "Yeah well... I was sorta expecting you to answer with a three or two, so I guess that a seven ain't all that bad," after a beat or two of trying to rearrange his clothes, he let out a frustrated sound and reached up with a clawed hand, loosening his tie and tugging a couple of buttons open of his shirt. He was just so used to baggy, opened clothes that this was entirely uncomfortable. "They do?" he blinked and brought up a claw to his mouth, as if pondering something, then smirked at her and tugged at her wrist, "Got an idea then. Watch this," technically, he needn't have told her to watch anything, seeing as how she was going to be dancing with him, but alas, it was the thought that counted, right. His green gaze switched from couple to couple and then after a few beats, he began to lead the dance. The style was all over the place, quite frankly, but that was mostly due to the fact he was taking hints and pointers from the couples around them. It didn't exactly look bad. It was just... different. He'd not worn shoes to the ball, yet despite that, it didn't quite seem to matter to him when Cora messed up; as she'd mentioned, he barely even felt it. By the end of the extravagant dance, he felt the poor ghoul trip over his foot, which he'd placed in a bed position during a twirl, but rather than give up on the stop, Morton's wing shot out and he just barely managed to catch her. In fact, in the process, they'd managed to execute a rather... strange, yet elaborate dip. His face was mere inches from the reaper's as he grinned, "See? Wasn't that bad, was it?" that said, he straightened himself up and tugged her to her feet. Round 2Coralie almost laughed. She had meant on a scale of one to ten in the bad direction he was a 7 in that outfit, not that she didn't like it, but...you know what, she'd let him take it. And he just didn't get it, did he? He was cute when he was oblivious. And he didn't get the cute bit either.
She danced with him, following his lead, no matter how ridiculous. If anything, her talent lay in the fact that she didn't mind doing a strange move or too either. They suited each other that way; they didn't care if they were doing it wrong, as long as they were having fun. And she was. When she was dipped, quite by accident, she found herself laughing. Once they were righted again, she put a few fingers against the side of his face. She leaned in just a bit, saying with hooded eyes, "I don't think I've ever danced quite like that before."
Within an instant she pulled away, tugging at his hand, "Let's go again. You did said you wanted to dance tonight."
Though she still let him lead, she let herself make a few more directed steps on her own, a twirl here, a chacha there, and anything else that seemed appropriate to the beat. It was all about moving and about moving with him, no matter how silly they were. As they moved about she passed wicked and energetic grins to Sin, who was dancing with a demon it seemed. She supposed she shouldn't have been surprised there. And she raised her brows a bit at Ren and LW in turn when she spotted them. Hu! She hadn't known they'd been dating other people. She'd only ever seen them together. She clasped Morton's bony hands tighter, spinning closer to him and giving him the smile he seemed to like.

It probably helped that she had a knack with using her feet; she'd learn to fight with them, and it seemed it meant she knew how to use her feet well, because after a bit of spinning and following Ren's lead, without stepping on him thank goodness, she started to catch on. She'd take a step, move with him, back from him, around, and while she wasn't suddenly an expert, she was doing quite well.
She turned rather pink at his repeated compliment, diverting her gaze briefly, though she couldn't keep it away for long, not with they way they were dancing nor with how much she wanted to look at him. "You did." She paused, and then added shyly, "Did I mention what a wonderful dancer you are?" She'd never danced like this before. You like, flustered the poor guy xD lawwwwls)) "I don't think I've ever danced before!" came Morton's chirp of an answer; granted, he needn't have told her as much, seeing as how... it was actually quite obvious that he'd never set foot on a dance floor before. All what he was doing he was picking up from what he saw the other couples doing. His gaze fell on Morrigan and Christof as they er... was that dancing? "They sure look like they're having fun!" he offered the pair a grin before he turned down to face Cora. Turns out he probably shouldn't have looked down, because that smile was waiting for him. That smile which he so loved; that jack-damned smile, and it was ultimately his proverbial undoing. He felt himself trip over his own feet, and this time, the dip he performed was nowhere near as elaborate or nice to look at as before. In fact, he only just barely to catch them both before they crashed on the floor, but he ultimately ended up with one knee on the ground. To an onlooker, it might've looked like the gargoyle had just been really clumsy, but Cora had a better, clearer view of his face, and his features betrayed the fact he'd been for some... odd reason, flustered. He didn't stay flustered for long though, finally offering her a smile before leaning his head in until their noses touched. He closed his eyes and rubbed his nose against hers, like a kitten or a puppy might've before pulling away, "I really like that smile..." this was murmured as he gave her arm a tug and pulled her back to her feet, "M'sorry about that by the way. I just.. yeah that smile. I really like it."

Round 2He had caught Coralie's gaze; Ren threw the orange haired ghoul a quick wink, eyes shifting towards her dance partner, Morton, and Ren gave a low whistle of amusement towards them before turning back to Alessa.
He shrugged noncommittally, a smile twisting his lips upwards. "Well, I thought it necessary to repeat it, then," he said breezily, sliding sideways. "And thank you, dearest; it's all of those lessons my lovely parents gave me growing up.
Flashing a teasing wink in her direction, Ren's feet moved easily, sliding across the floor. He stumbled a bit, but managed to keep himself from falling, and quickly turned the fall into a playful twist of his body, spinning Alessa out before pulling her back in against his chest.
"Forgive me?" he said, fingers tightening around hers. "I promise next time I'll escort you and won't mess around with Gabe before the dance."
Ren cast a glance over his shoulder towards Gabrian and LW, giving the others a playful smirk.
"If I can beat you at Scario Kart, I can beat you at this~!" he called to them playfully, spinning Alessa around again so that her back was against his chest before twisting her out again. His back leg moved out, and one arm around her waist, Ren slipped smoothly into a dip, leaning Alessa back.
"Be my Scarentine?" he whispered with a grin and kissed her quickly before pulling her up and spinning her around again, twisting her up into his arms.
After which he stumbled again, nearly toppling the two of them over, but overall he felt pretty good about how the night was progressing so far.

For a moment or so, Jericho stared at Arachne as she danced away after having nudged him. Slowly, he looked back at Lizzy, who was looking rather red now because of all of this.
"I... I see..." he said while shifting his wings a little uncomfortably. That was quite a way to make this dance all the more awkward, and he really wasn't so sure what to say after that. He just kept trying to move along with the music, in some attempt to ignore the awkwardness here.
It didn't work all that well.
He had to keep reminding himself this was all for the safety of his treasure.
