Immortal Nobody Okay, I apologize. I just watched the last replay I uploaded. Are they all that boring? gonk Probably not. A few reasons I haven't been too active recently - Trying to find a real job (not a min wage dead end) Trying to become a much better player myself Holidays recently Had friends come over/went over to friends a lot recently because of said Holidays. =/

Well it didn't have anything to do with anyone being active. Like I said, I watched it but I watched it from my opponent's view. He didn't do s**t. >.< Good luck with the job hunt.

Well, not being active is a reason I wouldn't have watched any replays =/ (was more or less why I stated it.) I'll have to see if I can't watch the replay later, if they really didn't do much lol.

Starting to watch it.
Imo, the only reason to do an extractor trick is if you are going for an early pool (like 11 pool). Making the drones after the extractor trick kinda defeats the purpose, at least from what I've gathered. If there is real evidence that it helps compared to 9overlord, I'll change my mind on that.
When you saw him FFE, you should have stopped making lings and just grabbed the tower and keep a ling outside his base. Then expo+drone up. When a toss does FFE, there literally isn't anything he can do aggressive other than a cannon rush (which he can't do to your main since you have creep, and if you watch your expo while buildings, he can't cannon that either.
When toss FFE, the usual responses from zerg are either grab a quick 3rd (since he can't punish it for a while), or some of 2 base all-in (roach/ling, or all roach all ins. Which either win or lose you the game depending on if he scouted it. The only way he can really defend an early roach/ling 2base all in is if he throws down more cannons, but he doesn't want to put the cannons down unless he needs to, otherwise it puts him behind if you take a 3rd instead)
His wall off isn't that great, and would let you run a couple lings by if you had a roach to soak, or just enough lings. But that's just because his wall is terrible. His wall placement at this time also indicated to me that he doesn't want his 3rd since he kinda walled himself away from it instead of at the ramp.
You fell behind in workers a lot. He had 32+ while you had around 25 at the 8 min attack. You built a lot of lings like you were expecting some sort of ground aggression. If you let a protoss pull ahead in workers, it makes life so much easier on the toss.
You took an awkward third. Imo anyways. The one behind the rocks next to your main would be easier to defend, since it is literally steps away from your natural, and just a few air steps from your main for mutas. o.O
When you killed his army at ~13:30. He pretty much lost there unless you let him recover by taking bases (still watching)
Against toss, you should always try to be 1 base ahead of him if you can help it, and of course the obvious keep making drones. After you killed his army, you should have teched to something he couldn't muster up enough to d against (like broods or infestors) and/or taken another base. You literally had him on the ropes, but you waited quite a while to get an infestation pit.
You should have poked around with the mutas. Even if you don't kill anything, having the presence to come into his mineral lines whenever you want hurts a protoss a lot, and forces him to overcommit to cannons, and/or stay on the defensive until he knows for sure he can move out safely. (Just don't lose any of the mutas when you do this, unless you get really efficient trades)
Be careful around archons with mutas. If you just a-move them or tell them to attack the archon, they'll bunch up and be eaten by the splash. If you "magic box" them, the archons are literally a waste.
He probably could have killed you after you pushed up his ramp and lost the fight. You also had ~7k mins and a lot of gas to spend. Spend joor money! That's probably the biggest issue it would seem. You could have easily overrun him if that 7k was into army. You had tons of larvae saved up, so it wasn't a inject issue, you just didn't really spend your larvae, and then you hit 200/200. You could easily have pretty much just thrown your army at him and lost it, and do it over 3 times with the amount of larvae and money you had saved up. More hatches = more units as well. Sometimes just taking expos for the larvae is worth it (not to mention you can drone up when possible, and xfer old drones when they mine out)
10k+ mins and ~4k gas at ~26 mins o.O
And then the game kept going after the toss lost 5 times over, but you just didn't commit when you had all that money and he couldn't expand.
If you had more hatches and kept making units when your money was stockpiling, you could have ended it much much earlier.

Well like I said, I'd just come off a horrendous losing streak. So I was playing it safe. :3 And I took that particular third cuz my creep was spreading that way anyway. xD

I still probably would have taken the other third, since you could just divert another tumor that direction to cover the other side of the map. But it kinda worked out for you, since he went looking for it with his army there, and you had the third elsewhere. Playing safe is one thing, and I understand that. Just need to learn how to only commit what you need for offensive units if you're not going to use them that much, and macro/tech up as much as possible in those situations. But that comes with practice and really good scouting. I'm just now kinda getting into that >_< (You still had tons of money later on. I would have just dropped some more hatches for production capacity since I had all that delicious money sitting around =p)

My three games of the day.

1v1 League Season 5 - Platinum Biohazard vs Platinum Commander
ZvT on Tal'Darim Alter. Marines are OP. j/k

1v1 League Season 5 - Platinum Biohazarvs Gold Markuverse
ZvT on Shattered Temple. Random opponent rolled Terran. Attempted to use a fast Reaper which got shut down. Baneling Bust ftw.

1v1 League Season 5 - Platinum Biohazard vs Platinum MrKitty
ZvP on Shattered Temple. I messed up in the beginning by doing the Extractor trick before building my Overlord and thought I was toast, which I usually am when I mess up like that. Fortunately he went for a FFE and didn't pressure me but he didn't wall off correctly. I was able to execute a ling runby and kill off a few Probes and otherwise distract him. I took a fast gold expansion and macroed up for a ling/Roach/Muta comp and proceeded to trade armies with him. Lost my gold in one engagement but quickly got it back up and running. I need to remember to get Adrenal Glands from now on cuz I think that upgrade is what helped me do such terrifying damage and take the game so early.
