Catch-22s abound! Poor bastards. And that explains our earlier chapter nicely, which is good. 3nodding
Ian's ability is certainly interesting, and I'm with Hammond. Materialising inside objects is painful. gonk

Rowan picked well...Alas, it's for a horrid purpose.
Now we know the reason behind Rowan's mission. My curiosity is over Rowan's internal issues, or lack of them in the assassination now. Her codename may reflect her internal world.
Even more interesting is the second-gen folk, Laura & Co. understanding what's happenning and setting up their own parameters. I feel like I'm watching Col Mustang's team.

Pryce strikes me as, and I'm just generalizing here, a cross between Gendo Ikari from NGE and Mr. Sinister from the X-men comics.
Rowan scares the living hell of of me. crying
Another great chapter, Gendou. 3nodding

Wait. From the profiles: Quote: Gendou's abilities are utterly unique among the 'control' Aberrant population. Control? Is this a reference to Project Blue? gonk Harris? Rommy's first guardian and last kill? Dang. That's gotta hurt. And they're only restarting Project Blue now... I wonder if there are any subjects from the old project still around? Ian's power is almost as scary as Sandra's. Time travel is always tricky, and I wonder how Gendou's going to handle causality: Will the two Ians be able to interact? Does the old Ian have to survive to preserve causality? How much stamina does it take? How much mass can he take with him? Jacob can shift to a ghost form? That's extremely interesting, from an espionage point of view. Not so good for combat, but between him and Sandra, Liz and Amy, and maybe Gendou, they could pull a Sam Fisher and be in-and-out without anyone being the wiser. Practical question: Can Sandra project her ability on something else, or is it limited to her? Quote: STORMTROOPER #1: What was that noise? STORMTROOPER #2: I dunno. Better check it out. STORMTROOPER #1: Boy, that spot on the wall sure is pretty. SANDRA: twisted The pictures are sweet. Roth looks very debonair, Pryce looks surprisingly youthful with the hint of age in his eyes, Hammond just looks scary, Gendou is very Gendou, Rowan looks extremely no-nonsense, Weston looks nicely scruffy, Robin carries an air of innocence, and Meghan looks kinda flirtatious. Very nice, all. Arcadian Also, I kept on expecting an Order of The Stick version of Gendou - just a gradient, with red eyes instead of yellow. Were you also expecting the umbrella? surprised

Westonian Control? Is this a reference to Project Blue? gonk Negatory. It's used to describe Aberrants who 'control' objects or elements through their abilities. Quote: Ian's power is almost as scary as Sandra's. Time travel is always tricky, and I wonder how Gendou's going to handle causality: Will the two Ians be able to interact? Does the old Ian have to survive to preserve causality? How much stamina does it take? How much mass can he take with him? The two Ians can interact for the thirteen second duration. If either Ian dies, they both die. Also, the nature of his ability effectively prevents him from leaping back to avoid a fatal wound, unless he can somehow prevent the old Ian from being wounded in the first place. Quote: Practical question: Can Sandra project her ability on something else, or is it limited to her? It's limited to her.

Gendou Negatory. It's used to describe Aberrants who 'control' objects or elements through their abilities. Whew. That's a relief. I was kinda worried that our Aberrants were the control group to be contrasted against an experimental group that was undergoing gene therapy. Gendou The two Ians can interact for the thirteen second duration. If either Ian dies, they both die. Also, the nature of his ability effectively prevents him from leaping back to avoid a fatal wound, unless he can somehow prevent the old Ian from being wounded in the first place. But if Ian is wounded, then back-steps and prevents his younger self from being wounded, does the time-travelling Ian remain wounded? Or did the unwounded Ian then pop back in time to prevent himself from being wounded? Time travel's crazy, man. @_@ Excellent.

Love the new profiles and the profile art... (Kinda wondered what Shadow-Gendou looked like heart )
Now, I don't mean this in a bad way, or anything, but when I saw Mr. Alex, the first thing that poped into my mind, was that he totally looked like a used car salesman, or some such thing. 3nodding question

Love the pictures - very cool. heart
The story is coming along beautifully and I think I'm finally getting a handle on who all the characters are, though that took a few read-throughs. My only complaint is that Laura so could have wiped the floor with Alex. razz
Seriously though, this is great. The introductions are coming at a nice clip but we're also getting the story setup at the same time so the story isn't bogged down by all the character introductions. And you're not doing what a lot of stories do - fall in love with the mechanics behind how function and spend too much time clogging up the narrative and killing the flow of the story with unnecessary details. I love how you're only lightly touching on those details, enough so we understand but not so much that it feels like a pop quiz may follow. wink
