I.... Natsumi hesitated, she didn't want him to go after Amber. Her cheek, head and lip throbbed, but she tried not to pay attention to it.
I-I'm fine.... She was trying to surpress tears, she knew that once they got to a corner of the school gardens, and they were alone, Nyx would try to get it out of her, he always did.
She grabbed a tray for them both, and she got hardly anything, and let him get what he wanted. She got an apple, cookie, and a small carton of milk. Theres a small corner of the school gardens we can go to..... She adjusted the hat lower, as it started to hike up, and then she tasted a salty, warm liquid on her lips.
s**t! She thought, almost panicking. The cut on her lip that Amber had so generously given her was starting to bleed, and she had no doubt in her mind that Nyx could smell it.
....just great.....

Taking the tray Natsumi gave to him. He didn't look too hungry at the time, since whatever was bothering her was bothering him as well for not knowing it. Grabbing maybe only an apple and a small carton of milk, he watched her intently as she readjusted her hat. Why would she wear that hat only now, he hair had looked fine before and during P.E. why hide her beauty?
Having the enhance senses of an animal, Nyx turned his head sharply to face her again as he noticed the smell of her blood. It was coming from her lower lips. A small cut but no -the- less made Nyx glower at the idea of who gave it to her. Before he could question her about, he paused to see Natsumi in a panic. Letting out a sigh of surrender, he didn't both to ask. If she was that worried about his reaction then Nyx would wait until she was ready to say something to him.
Once they got out of there lunch line, he slowed his pace until he was behind her. Letting Natsumi walk to her friends table, he followed with a emotionless expression on his face as he sat down beside her and ate quietly.
I won't ask you if you want to keep it to yourself......

Natsumi shook her head, "Let's go sit over there, by ourselves, and I'll let you look. It's fine. I'd rather you looked than anybody else...." They went to their own place, "You have to promise not to do anything lethal....even if what she did was really bad...." she winced, her bruise was throbbing, the one on the forehead, and the cut on her lip.
"Promise me...and then you can remove my hat..."

Following her silently, he wasn't happy. Well of course, who would when your girlfriend try hiding something from you and only now she wanted to tell. They made it to a secluded area of the school where the two could talk. Standing up, Nyx placed his tray on the bench they were sitting as he looked intently at her. Raising his hand to do a gesture that some of the boy did in front of him, he tried to imitate it. "Scouts honor."

Natsumi was almost shaking, and she took off her hat and looked up at him. Her eye was bruised, and there was a small cut beneath her bangs, where she hit the lockers. Her lip was cut, and she pulled up her sleeve to reveal another bruise.
"There.....th-that's what she did. That's why I never stand up to her...that's..." She had tears welling up in her eyes, "But....you can't....you can't kill her....she is not just a popular girl here....she's....the daughter.....of my real father....she's my real sister....and if I do anything...she has a right....by my real father.....to kill me instantly...." She couldn't hold it in, she was sobbing again, and her head really hurt, and blood had started to fall from her re-opened wound on her forehead, and her lip.
"If she knew I had a protector....she'd make it that much more unbearable...."

He was a bit anxious when she took off her hat in a slow motion. Though it didn't show he wanted to know what happen and what she was hiding. His expression grew hard as he looked at the bruises on her face and arm. Small cut on above her brow. Nyx wasn't too happy at seeing this. The more he look at the injuries done to her body the more he wanted to hurt the person who inflicted this on her. One of his hands clenched into a tight fist. He was trying very hard not to look as angry as he felt. Looking at her reminded him of his brother when others would bully him this way.
His now turned yellow eyes turn to her own natural eyes and noticed she had begun to cry. A bit of his anger ease away as concerned replace the hard look he had given her. In one motion, Nyx closed the distance between the two and pulled her into his embrace. Wiping gently at her cut above her brow that started to bleed again, he spoke. "I won't harm her.......just promise me you be beside me when she's near? I don't want to see you get hurt like this when I'm not looking." Looking down at her, he gave her that lazy smile he given her many times before bending down to kiss her. Nyx didn't kiss both her lips just the lower one where the open cut resided. Warmth radiated from his lips but only for a short time before he finally pulled away to reveal the healed cut on her lip. "Please ok."

She curled up in his arms, like a frightened little child.
"Nyx...I....I want to go home.....if we let the attendance office know....we can leave...." She was shaking, afraid, of her own sister. Her sister. Her father. They needed to figure out how they could end this.
"My head hurts..." she mumbled, "Thanks for healing my lip...." she smiled up at him, but winced when her head throbbed again.
"I guess we are lucky today is Friday...no school for two days...." She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep that night, it would be difficult, thats for sure.
She looked at him, her eyes glistening, "or we could stay...and..." Just then Amber walked by and smirked at her, she Natsumi cowered in Nyx's arms, "and...go through the last few classes...and go home...and be alone..."

Kissing her forehead light, he looked into her eyes before letting that smile turn into a full out grin. Pressing her a bit closer to him, Nyx nuzzled his face into her hair like a cat. Yup his feline personality was still there just not to obvious to some. Only Natsumi knew what her truly was, so keeping up this facade as a human was a bit hard for him.
I'm up for anything you want to do Natsumi...and besides spending more time with you alone in the house is pretty interesting. He growled playfully in her mind.
Hearing footsteps come close to the two. Nyx on impulse pulled back to see who it was. Well what do you know, it was her sister. Weren't family members suppose to be supportive with blood relatives. He guessed not since the father was just as cruel as her sister. He had to forcefully change his eye color back so Amber wouldn't see the gold and yellow that glowed brightly with anger. Letting a cold smile appear on his face, he watched her walked past the two with her smile changed into jealous frown as she took the next turn in the corner. Glance back at his frighten girlfriend, Nyx gently pulled her away from behind him and cradle her in his arms. "Only if you wanna stay here.....if you really don't want to then we can go home now." He said with a half hearted smile.

Natsumi giggled softly in his mind, yah....interesting.... She gave him a small, mental smirk, and then continued, Let's finish out the next couple classes and go right home....I am actually looking forward to that alone time now.....besides..... She winced, I still have to get through math....
The next class was an elective, and their last, Algebra....2. She loathed math, and was horrible at it, but stuck through it anyways.

You math won't kill you silly.
A small chuckle came from his lips as he looked down at her with amusement and playful look in his eyes. Kissing her forehead again her whispered in her mind once more. With a soft, dark voice that was sure to make her shiver if she knew what type of intention he might have.
I'll be looking forward to it too.
They speed through the classes quite fast like someone had pushed the fast forward button on a VCR. Though there were a few funny moments in math he had to admit. Natsumi didn't looked to fond of having such a number type of class. It seemed easy for him but that was because he was trained at an early age to do such problems. After the bell ringer for there last class to be over, he out of his seat quickly and grabbed Natsumi bag. A few of their classmates looked in surprise or just with a smug look knowing that the two were very close. Though they didn't know how close if you considered that bounding of souls, it was pretty close. They walked back to the house, he didn't make her overexert herself with carrying thing. Since it seemed she needed all the comfort she could get. Shifting his and her bag in one hand, Nyx grabbed her hand and entwined his fingers with her as they walked. "Aren't you glad school's over?" He said with a smile on his face as he looked at her with his normal yellow eyes.

Natsumi laughed, "Oh, you know it." Her eyes sparkled, and she removed her shoes when they stepped into the house, and she could feel her longing for him strat growing more intense.
"Come on...let's go put our stuff upstairs..."
She stuck her tongue out, teasing him, and started up the stairs, "I bet you can't catch me!" she challenged, sprinting up to her room, and throwing her bag down and flopping onto her bed. "This feels so nice....after such a long day...."

As he took off his other shoes on his left, he glance up at Natsumi. Her back was facing him, so innocent yet alluring. Ok Nyx needed to get control of himself. Shaking his head to try and rid himself of what he was thinking. Nyx quickly went into the house after her only to see her go up the stairs leaving last part of words echo through the house. A smirk played along his lips as he looked up to the now sprinting girl.
Oh I bet I could.....
He said in her mind, before letting his ears, tail, and yellow eyes appear again. Changing back to his original self felt refreshing, not needing to have to put a facade that he was human. Just being his normal alien/animal self. His yellow eyes glowed intensely before he started up the stairs right behind her and headed straight to her room. Natsumi was already in her bed relax. Instead of joining her like normally would, Nyx leaned against the frame of the door and looked at her with happiness. He of course was very concerned but it was better to hide some of it so she wouldn't need to feel like having to force herself to tell him anything.

Natsumi sat up, and she got up and walked over to him. "Nyx...." she smiled softly, "I know your worried.....I am too....and a bit scared....but...I'm trying not to let it affect me...." She turned and walked towards her desk, where there was a photo of her, her now late older adopted brother, and her foster parents. Behind it, was a photo of her, and her real older brother, she was on his back and laughing.
"Sometimes I wish this all didn't happen...but in a way...I'm glad....I did have a foster older brother...as well as a real one...both murdered by the same man..." she could feel a tear slide down her cheek, but she didn't sob.
"If none of this would've happened....then..." she turned and smiled at him through her tears, "I would've never met you..."

It was on impulse that he walked toward her and wrapped his arms around her from behind, like a safe haven. Nuzzling her neck gently with his face, he let himself purr. Yes purr, something that his feline cousins did when they were calm or wanted others to feel calm around them. If none of this did happen....then wouldn't she be happy and always smile? He wanted for her to always not have fear of someone who was still out to kill her. Wiping the tears away with his hand. Nyx let his other caress her cheek before kissing her light on the neck. "Wouldn't you have wanted that Natsumi......to be happy and not go through so much of this pain?" He thought little of himself since having to go through so much on his world made him think of things differently. His black cat like ears bobbed absently as he pressed his face closer to her neck.

"But Nyx....I AM happy....yes, I've had a somewhat of a terrible life...but..." She lifted his head and smiled, "Don't think so little of yourself...you actually helped me by coming...if you had not come.....I would probably be dead....I know I would be...from those wounds on the first day you healed me...." She let him continue to press closer to her neck. "I am so glad you came...."
