Arcturus? He must have changed his name... Salen thought as he looked back at the man. He remembered him well and that glare certainly showed he remembered him as well. A good choice, I expect nothing less from her.
With a small bow of acknowledgement, he returned his gaze to Lina, "If you don't mind, I would like to do what I can now. Is there anything that needs to be done?"
"As a matter of fact there is," Lina replied, "We are gathering the apprentices who to help us with our quest and among them, we have not yet given notice to Emit's apprentice, Karrot. Retrieve him and we will be just about ready to leave."
"As you wish Lady Lina." Salen replied before moving out of the door.

Arcturus quickly caught up to Salen. Something just didn't click in his head, and there was an odd smell about the man that suggested he'd been to a couple less-than-welcoming places before coming here.
Still, in the interest of time he volunteered some information about Karrot.
"Being a Dwarf, Karrot likes his booze. You'll most likely find him in a bar around this time of day. Ever seen a guitar-playing Dwarf? That's what he likes to do in his spare time and you'll always find him with one strapped to his back."
He didn't bother with any more information about Karrot, since the rest of it was mostly him just stalking out of boredom.
(I have this really strange urge to make Arcturus into a D&D character now... I don't know why. sweatdrop )

"A guitar playing dwarf... Yes, I remember him at Lady Lina's wedding. He made the cake as well as became the entertainment. And if he likes his alcohol, then perhaps the Nocturne would be a good place to start." Salen fell silent after that, seeing as the former Blaydons will no doubt have problems with him going into their club, but as a neutral area it would atleast be safe.
He'd only been to the Nocturne a few times, but he'd never forget the power of the music that rocked your bones just by opening the door, or the hostess who ruled the place. He only hoped that another group of shadowcats would not be his welcoming commitee...

Xavier sat inside one of the buildings used as guard post on the east side of Lower Town, his rifle disassembled, cleaned and layout on the table before him ready to be put back together. The new watch was due to start and he had volunteered to join that night, something that made the other guards feel safe and made him feel a little more human.
Within moments he had reassembled the rifle give it a quick test fire, the click of the weapon echoing off the walls since there was no round in the breach. He had the feeling it was going to be a long night and he slipped a clip into the weapon, loading a round into the chamber and flicking the safety on.

Seven as Kaiser laughed, feeling the flare of magic and aware of what was happening though her eyes had not witnessed the actual change. Quinn managed to go up a few notches in her book as he chose to be a child for the mischief.
"You'll be graced with my true form when I see fit to call upon this debt." She commented, "Bring the kin over, it will be easier that way."

Black Diamonds and Garnet "A guitar playing dwarf... Yes, I remember him at Lady Lina's wedding. He made the cake as well as became the entertainment. And if he likes his alcohol, then perhaps the Nocturne would be a good place to start." Salen fell silent after that, seeing as the former Blaydons will no doubt have problems with him going into their club, but as a neutral area it would at least be safe.
He'd only been to the Nocturne a few times, but he'd never forget the power of the music that rocked your bones just by opening the door, or the hostess who ruled the place. He only hoped that another group of shadowcats would not be his welcoming committee... In all honesty, Arcturus couldn't remember where the Nocturne was let alone being in it. He was more familiar with where humans went..
"Lead the way."-- Artanis took a sniff of the bottle Karrot had poured his drink from. It made him light-headed and his eyes watery. He wiped his eyes then heard a slight chuckle from the other side of the bar. "That's the way any normal person reacts to the stuff." The barkeep leaned in a bit and whispered. "I don't normally carry much of it up front until the later hours and I'd rather not have one person empty my stores. With what he gave me he could have bought all I have under here and then some! Just make sure he can still walk and I'll give you a couple drinks of your choice. What do ya say?""I planned on making sure he could walk anyway. I'm.. From out of town and he's showing me some sights. But I'll take you up on your offer even though I'm not much of a drinker. What would you recommend?" "If the theme is automotive, I'll give you a Screwdriver. Nowhere near as potent as what your friend has but that's not the point."The barkeep handed Artanis an orange bottle and left to tend other patrons. "Automotive? Must have something to do with those cars I guess.." He poured himself a pint and swilled it around for a bit before swallowing, not sure what to make of it. "It's orange and.. Fizzy? At least it tastes good."

Karrot finally looked up from his mug at Artanis. "He said this stuff was like motor oil, you're familiar with oil, but a much less refined form. Anyway I've had stronger drinks with worse taste. No worries about me walking out. So, didn't have much time to talk before I stormed out, but how long had I been missing before we scooped you up in that mess. I'd like to know how much the time offset is. I'm about 50 years older than when you last saw me, but then that still isn't much on my kind." Karrot finished the bottle and pushed back the next one the bartender brought out. "That will be all, keep the change."
(I don't wear the guitar all the time, sometimes I keep it in the bag of holding. Also you'd better not be looking for a dwarf in size, I'm suited up in stone flesh, Human size)

((I'm here... I'm here... ^^; ))
"We are already here." Mira spoke up finally, having slowly been drifting toward Quinn and Seven for several minutes now, "If you need us, we are here."
Stefan was still, very clearly, uneasy about the entire situation. He had dealings with Doppelgangers in the past, and none of them were good. To him, they couldn't be trusted. They were devious tricksters, wanting nothing but to cause mayhem and "have a little fun." Mira was the only thing that kept him at ease. If she felt the Doppelganger could be trusted, if Quinn felt the Doppelganger could be trusted, then perhaps he need not worry.
"Do as you will, Doppelganger." Older Quinn requested, "It is of dire importance that I see Rike and Malen sooner rather than later. The life of someone very close to me depends upon it."
He smiled, trying to stay cordial and keep the worry from his features. He was sure, though, that it wasn't really working.

((Not really here! ninja Stealing Shade's internet connection to make a post.)) "Just stand off the to the side." Seven told the pair, motioning them to Quinn's side.
"Patience is a virtue, child." The Doppelganger chided Quinn, although she worked the magic as she spoke.
Two whirlwinds of sand appeared and whooshed Rike and Malen up to the surface in front of the small congregation, and with a flap of her wings the sand cleared away from them.
The replica Ignorance and Want faded away as the real swords came with the true Nation leader. Seven bowed slightly. "These are the ones that tripped the wards," She explained before anything else could be said, "And they wanted to speak to you two about Signet."

((*the running man*))
Sable jerked and dropped her falafel. She hadn't been paying attention for only a few seconds and....She turned slowly so that she could eye him sidelong, meeting his eyes boldly, defintely an alpha. Her eyes narrowed and she decided to brazen it out, "You owe me dinner." She growled, tossing the napkin away furiously. She'd been hungry too.

Quinn asked me to stay in the Valley for a bit to keep things running and defend it while he took care of matters elsewhere. I'm 40 now though, so it's been about four years for me since we first met."

A short burst of energy like green fire surged around Fenrir for a moment as his temper flared. The latent magics within him sometimes had that effect. How dare she enter his territory and then not only refuse his question but also make a demand.
"You are in no position to be talking like that... I asked you a question..."

"Well firstly you might want to call your boss by his surname or a nickname, there's a resident Quinn in this city, the oldest most mischevious non-immortal ten year old sorcerer you'll ever meet. And second, I've not been gone long by your perspective. But I've changed quite a bit. My darkness... my black armor. This in me changed after Lord Dante died and left this world. Anyone or anything you want to know about?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- "...Yeah, no not shunned at all. Thanks for the talk. Just run out without even telling me where you're going... I hope you know I'm eating your food." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I think it's about time we introduce ourselves" "Of course, My Lady." The mysterious lady and the strange man approached the counter. "Another drink for the big guy" The lady place a gold coin on the table, but as the bartender's eye shimmered at the sight of the gold, Karrot snatched it up, his whole face much darker. "This is Dwarven Gold! I suppose you and your Vile elf mugged one of my kinsmen!?" "How dare you accuse my lady of theft! she is the honorab-" "Quiet Neyre! He has every right to be accusing. After all, a seemingly human girl and an elf are no allies to a dwarf who has seen so much pain at the hands of humans... he and his brother Karrot's human form dissolved and the sand flowed into his bag, revealing his true dwarven self, his face contorted with fury and his hand clenched tight over the coin. "How do you know about that!" "Relax my lord. I am Thespion. I am Half-dwarf, and this is my guardian, an elf of the shadows, Neyre Boku." "Let's continue this conversation elsewhere. The Nocturne. follow me. Bartender, you didn't see or hear anything, understood?" Karrot dropped a handful of gold on the table and the bartender nodded and snatched the gold and hid in the back room. the black sand flowed out of karrot's bag and wrapped him up, solidifying him back into human form. He strapped his armor back on and strode out the door, the half-dwarf woman and her elven guard followed.

Artanis sat watching them with a rather confused look on his face. The man was the same one who told him that Karrot was in here, but his first impression of him still held. Still, since Karrot was still his guide to the city he figured it would be better to follow than to try and find his way around without an escort.
Why do I always seem to get dragged into these kinds of things?

Sable folded her arms, unimpressed. She finally sighed and released the dampers she'd been holding in place for all she was worth and let him see the power that only came with an alpha female, "You owe me. Dinner." She repeated a bit more slowly, "While I eat, I'll see about answering your questions. But not before." She eyed him, "A steak sounds nice, know any good steak houses around here?"
