One hit the the knee almost took him down from the sudden pain and Malikhai had a good idea what was about to happen. He was trying to disable him rather than just beat him to a pulp now. He'd deal with the pain of that hit but he wasn't going to let Valten win by crippling him. Thus Valten would find his own jaw in trouble as the pommel of Malikhai's sword slammed into it from the side to knock him away, and the blade following suit.

Valten felt his jaw crack, and blood splattered on the ground and even he fell on his side from the force. But his hand grabbed the blade of the weapon, burning or not, and held it from doing anymore damage, though one could hear the sizzling of flesh and blood from the instant cauterizing of the injury. As he held the weapon, he started to get back on his feet, keeping that grip, and gritting his teeth at the pain even though his jaw was clearly broken.

It was probably considered a feat by the crowd that the both of them were still going at it hard despite the battering they both had taken. As Valten was finding his feet, Malikhai was planting his despite the blood pooling in his armor and the pain in his knee. He pushed as Valten pushed back, trying to force him back to the ground. "If I have to break every bone in your body, I will."

"Not going to give you the chance."
Standing on his feet now, even though the pressure between them on the blade was threatening to cut his hand to the bonee at this point, before letting the blade go and grabbing the armor around malikhai's neck and headbutting him, before staggering back some holding his other hand...that amr was nearly useless now, between teh weakening of bloodloss and the gouge in his hand...and started heading for the axe that lay in the dirt.

That left him reeling and with even more blood on his face than before, but it wasn't entirely unexpected. They had been literally butting heads likes rams before with helms on, why would now be different. He stumbled back a few steps shaking his head trying to get his wits about him as he saw Valten going for his axe. All it took was a shadow step to beat him to it, appearing before the axe and the rushing Valten, grabbing the other elf by the face with one blood red hand and holding tight for a few moments before throwing him backwards to the dirt. Reaching down he picked up the axe himself, staring colding at the other elf, more or less daring him to get back up.

He got beaten to the blade by a fraction of a second...before a loud scream was ripped out of him and he collided hard with the ground, and didn't move, his eyes rolled back in his head.

Malikhai stood there, merely watching. Really now, all that bragging and posturing and such when he couldn't even handle him. Malik would wipe the floor with this one, but at the same time he felt it better they never encountered each other. "That's the flaw of Norrath. Every one of them who come here think they are the biggest and baddest thing to appear on the plane. Pity they're all delusional." Spitting out some blood onto the field before he sheathed his sword and hefted up the axe, heading toward him. "Shame for you, I have a fear of the undead." Which meant he was getting killed, twice.

Malikhai got to feel fear. a real strong fear, when as he came forward, Valten heard him. the Harm touch wasn't fatal...but damn near. So he laid there, recovering, reorganizing his mind. trying to remember the layout of where he might be before the blinding, searing pain had riped into him. He'd been prepared for a harm touch...he'd expected one from Malik though, not his son.
Once Malikhai was close enough...Valten's eyes rolled back, and he lurched up, grabbing the axe handle and shoving back as hard as he could, using surprise and fear to get to his feet, The Father trained the child to be quite formidable. a power all unto himself.
Cold eyes reguarded him as the ruined hand flexed it's fingers, clenching to a fist, and opening again. despite the pain. Valten was using fear as a weapon now. make the boy believe he was undead...that he felt no more pain.
Valten shut himself off from the waking world. to a world of blood, battle, and death. a mediation if you would, of pure bloodlust and combat. this was the holy ground for Valten. this was his temple, his church. the battle field...as a true follower of the Warlord, Rallos Zek should be. This boy was proving his strength. and his hardened body.
But could he overcome his fear. a true warrior felt no fear to death, undeath, or anything else. battle was the decider. if you were worthy, you lived. unworthy..you fell.

Admittedly he was surprised that the guy was going to get back up. “They never stay down either.” Indeed backing off a few steps as he watched the other, trying to make sense of things at the moment. Either he was dealing with newly undead things, the guy was close to death…or something much more sneaky. Yes he was fearful of the undead, but in a certain respect as well.
This guy was trained to feel no pain, he had taken beating after beating today and kept on going. Sometimes it had seemed that he was purposefully getting a beat down just to come back stronger when his opponent got cocky. Planting his feet in the dirt he let out a breath and closed his eyes, calming himself. He let his ears tell him the truth and all the while weaved his magics behind the scenes as he stood there, calculating and waiting.

Valten could feel the shift that said someone was playing with magics again. his eyes were closed, but Valten knew about blind fighting styles...he came forward, grabbing the handle on his axe...and jerking it, attempting to pry it out of Malikhai's hands. in his condition a fistfight was not going to get him anywhere...he'd need the weapon.

Bingo. It was an intricate work of his, magics webbing and netting to help slow and constrain, while he was able to feel out anything else for himself and what he was feeling for right now was most important to both proving things false and proving them true.
"If you're going to play dead ...you need to get rid of that pulse to be convincing." Tht said he gave a hard shove forward on the axe between them and shoved Valten back to the dirt, his own body following down in a clash of armor with Malikhai ending up straddling the other with the shaft of the axe pressed hard against his throat and all the weight and power Malikhai could muscle pressed down on the axe.

Aella shrugged as she walked away. "This is a Colosseum. People are here too watch, they'll be watching me too. One more isn't going to bother me." Not meant to be an insult, just stating what she felt was obvious. With that, she somersaulted her way over to the agility challenges.
On the whole, she was glad this place was big. The battles going on everywhere seemed large and intense. Can't say she was too interested in all that though.

And down he went again, holding the axe from putting to much weight on his throat, and watching the young boy.
"And you need to learn to use your head more."
On the ground now witht he boy straddling him, his destroyed hand reached up and locked on Malikhai's throat, constricting tightly shfitng his other arm to keep the handle off his throat. He'd choke this boy out...and if he pulled away, he'd break his other knee and force him to withdrawl since he'd be unable to walk.
Onyx shrugged lightly and followed off after her, before waiting in the stands and watching for her agility performances. of course, in his young adult mind...that kind of contest took on all sorts of connotations.

Rather than grab for the hand at his neck, he merely pushed down harder on the axe shaft. He was either going to break his arm at the elbow and it wouldn't matter how much he was blocking, or he was going to die trying. He was not going to give up to this elf. And if all else...well his sword would end this.

Valten saw what he was doing, and shifted his grip slightly, threatening to rip his throat clean out.
"It seems, young D'vinn. we are at an impass. I can't stop you from breaking my arm and possibly killing me. but with all the weight on me, you can't stop me from ripping your throat out."
Narrowing his eyes lightly.
"How bad do you want this. to face your father on the field of battle? to challenge and try to topple the one who has given you life?"
