"Well not in good with them...more like they don't concern themselves with the Dead unless they have to. and warrior born I've led in battles and conflicts, so at least I was relatively well respected."

glancing at his oldest son.

"No..what on his mind is winning. he's gauging the competition, seeing what a warrior sees. see Dhairiss, when you wield the sword like your brother does, you learn to see thigns others don't notice. right now your brother knows who to put effort into beating, and who to slack off against to conserve his strengths for later."

Onyx gave a slightly concerned look, and gently caressed her cheek with his claw.

"I was frightened I drove you away. I never intended to, and well..you know how I felt. adn I still do. I looked all over, followed every whisper. I just never found you."

Aella took his hand from her face, held it in both of her own. "You kind of did. But I didn't help things either." She smiled so that she didn't bring him down. "You couldn't have found me, I didn't want to be found." She shook her wind staff, it jingled pleasantly.

"I want to start fresh with us, and try again. I'm...well...older now. I'm not so confused anymore." Her smile became playful. "But I'm also a whole new person. And fresh," she patted his hand, "means from the beginning. So none of this," she tapped her cheek. "Okay?"

"I call that being in good with them." Shrugging her shoulders lightly and shifting some where she sat. Hated it when she suddenly decided to be uncomfortable.

Dhairiss turned a skeptical look to his father. "That...or something else. I know that much. I mean I get the method...there's just something else on his mind. Has been since he talked to what's his face."
PostPosted: Sun Apr 19, 2009 12:39 am

"What's his face? and what did he and waht's his face talk about?"

giving a slightly curious look to his youngest. one trait he learned form his mother he rather liked. to not be seen when he didn't want to be. made him a great informer on his oldest in times like right now.

Onyx looked at her hands, and glanced up at her...a bit on the confused side...and used his other hand to scratch his head between his ears some.

"Start over as in trying to become friends again or start over as in back to first dates? Either's fine...just want to know my boundaries before you hurt me for stepping over them."

Cymarron was back on the field again, and taking on his last competitior before the jousting. which cymarron was not exactly comfortable with. the idea was just not to his taste. but he was holding his own against a much younger and quite strong Minotaur at the moment

"I think becoming friends again would be a little silly." She let go of his hand, leaned on her staff a little bit. "I just want to take things easy. I live a long life, I'm in no rush to upset it again with a relationship that is moving too fast."
PostPosted: Sun Apr 19, 2009 12:51 pm

"Yeah, what's his face. The Tier'dal. They just kinda exchanged some banter but he's been thinking about something since then, don't know what though. They were just being cocky with each other, and what's his face mentioned being able to take you on too." Yeah he had no idea what his brother's issue was with that, just that his brother was off kilter.

It was easy to weed people out until the handful of them were left, fying for top spots that would go to jousting competition afterwards. Five of them would get slotted up there, it was all a matter of who got first place and whot got fifth to call extra bragging rights. Though he was looking forward to facing Valten...if not just to soothe his own nerves about Norrathians. He sideglanced the other as they waited patiently as the other two fought it out, the fifth and weakest that was already slotted.

Cymarron got his victory, and soundly by using the minotaurs own weight and momentum, combined with his own considerable strength, to fling the other into a wall hard enough to crack it...rending the other unconcious. before leaving the field while they started to prep for the jousting.

Okay that got a more interested look on his father's face.

"How did he mention being able to take me on? just that he wanted to, or that he knew for certain he would win?"

Onyx grinned lightly, though any lewd looks at her clothing from passer bys got a violently hard look and a slight showing of claws. still possesive, at least some.

"alright. back to the begining. well...um...want to wander about a bit made get something to eat?"

Valten caught the other's eye, be said nothing he seemed anxious. maybe he was just eager to face the slightly older Tier'dal...maybe he was worried about it. who knew. but Valten was planning to go through him, to face his father.

"Well first he referred to him as the son of the Butcher of Bloody Kithcor, and that didn’t make Khai too happy to start off. On the inside you know, not the outside. What’s his face had waited a long time and worked real hard to be ready to face you, you were an idol or something. I mean, it didn’t sound too bad to me but Khai just kinda had a different look after he walked away.”

Piper tilted her head at her son’s words and tried to put together her own scenarios with old events. Things pieced together in her head pretty well, or at least her theory did. “It’s because he’s from Norrath.” And well…Khai had developed a complex about Norrathians.

Old things haunted even young elves, that much was true. But a mere nod to the other as they were called to the field. This was the battle he wanted at all costs. This one opponent. He didn't plan on losing. They'd have to carry him off the field half dead before he gave up.

"Exactly what you think it does, Mykorian. I know the way most males think of my sisters and I'm okay with it. As long as they don't get hurt. But they both hold grudges." He pondered over what Mykorian was saying and mentally shook his head. His father was going to be pissed. "Then you need to apologize to Faate and leave Lyssie be in her snit. She'll get over it and probably avoid you because you chose Faate over her."

"She'll have someone bring her something when she gets hungry." She was stirring her soup more than eating it and she'd only had a few sips of ale, too. Once the sour drink had come, she'd changed her mind. "Same one I get every year. It doesn't mean all that much." Shaking her head and clasping her fingers to keep them nimble. "Are you worried about me?"

"It's not really a surprise considering what happened before. Khai was beaten pretty badly by him and he knows what he wanted more than anything else. The same thing that the blue-skinned elf wanted when she came. And now there's another one in the competition and Khai's got to face him." Kaelin had been kicked out of the tent down below and was back up with the D'vinn's, settling onto a bench in the back to watch.

Malik gave a slight frown at the title. Biut from a Tier'dal...it wasn't the spit in your face you monster connotation...it was the you are the most impressive shadowknight I know connotation. A glance at Kaelin, and then back to the field.

"This guy, if he knows the title...either served in that war, or even in that battle...or has been told the story enough times to memorize my name and maybe my likeness. If he's lookin gto face me to somehow test himself to an ideal..he's going to try to run through Malikhai as fast and as hard as he can."

leaning forward.

"He's going to test my boy. and test him hard. he'll expect him to be good, to be a real threat. Malikhai has an edge in magical talent. but this guy is definately stronger and probably more resiliant. it's what the brotherhood teaches and beats into them. to withstand magic, blade, arrow...and keep pressing through."

Valten stepped out onto the field, armored from head to toe. the younger D'vinn would be his first real test against the potential strength of his father. He was ready for this. he'd been training for decades to become the most steadfast, the strongest, and most aggressive warrior the Indigo Brotherhood had produced in centuries. and he would prove his worth by best both D'vinns.

Aella looked around with a raised eyebrow. "Not really the greatest time for that." She picked up her staff, threw it over her shoulder and started to walk away. She glanced back and waved. "I have some agility events starting soon."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 20, 2009 10:19 am

"Agility events? you mean your more flexible then you were before? that might be something to watch."

A slight grin at her as she started to walk away...glancing back toward his father...then to whirlwind...a shrugging lightly, walking over to fall in step with her.

"Mind if I watch or would you prefer I didn't? my father came for tournament, So I could stay by him if you'd prefer.."

"I hate women somedays." They were so nitpicky about thinngs and couldn't ever be simple. "I'll talk to her when your dad isn't with her. Last thing I need is her getting upset in front of him."

"Then why do you even compete if it means nothing to you?" Honestly asking her the question, after all it had always been her choice to compete. A light smile, "When am I not ever worried?"

A look to Kaelin as the girl joined them. She apparently was on Piper's line of thinking. "Malikhai's never forgiven himself for his forced fordfeit to Rainmare. You know how important that was to him, to keep you safe from he found a threat. However it seems anyone from Norrath looking to challenge you is cast in the same light the Koada'dal was...and Khai has your flaw of protecting his family before all other things." Frowning lightly. How would Khai take another defeat from someone looking to get at his father, even if it wasn't the same motives perhaps?

Slipping on his own helm he followed out to the field on his own side, silvery eyes having gone cold and focused on the task at hand. He was not going to have a repeat of things. Not now, not ever again. He'd play every dirty trick in his book if he had to. This guy had excellent stamina and endurance, but at the same time they had been fighting for a good while now. Drawing ebony, he took his stance across from his opponent...he would win this or die trying.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 20, 2009 6:33 pm

"That's the most intelligent thing I've heard you say yet."

"Competition is important to keep the Inthara name formidable. Zykariel races but isn't known for his magical prowess so it's up to me. Kelligrin and Kit are too young, and Lyssie is just a slut and not known for anything except that." Shaking her head bitterly. "You're always worried. Just can't help it, I suppose."

"Rainmare is the warrior he couldn't beat and the threat he couldn't protect his family from." Piper understood her son quite well, didn't she? "He'll do his best but he won't back down unless he absolutely has to. I don't want to see him get hurt that badly again..."

Valten hefted his axe up, and the edges sparked to life with flame. and he came hard and fast that blade was a searing, whirling weapon of destruction, and he was first intended the simply plow over his enemy. he picked up dirt at Malikhai's face, moving like a cloud of dust to help try to impair his vision.

He knew this boy had probalby been trained to wield magic like his father, and he was trying to keep the pressure on hard enough to make him unable to get to use it.

"I know that. but that doesn't mean that he needs to do what he'll do. I want him to win, of course, but I don't want him to be bedridden for weeks to claim a victory over a norrathian elf. at least this time he's not so obviously outmatched."

A small smile at Kaelin.

"So...did they throw you out for fretting and worrying, or becuase they just thought you were in the way?"
