Wait he won? Well honestly that was unexpected. After all, he was just a kid with a few well practiced tricks and had nothing on an elf way more than twice his age and with a fancy bow and what not to boot. Thus the flighty self came back some with gracious acceptance of such things. Cool. Which meant heading back to his seat in the stands, though he wasn’t bouncing and bounding back as he would usually. Eventually he came to his friends and family. "I thought I was beat there for a minute. I mean come on, he could have beat me easy."

She gave her own concerned look to Malik before letting her eyes drift back the things. Dhairiss of course she was concerned about, his body wasn’t trained up to strenuous standards like his brother’s was. It stressed easier. Khai on the other hand…she had long stopped worrying like she used to when he was in tournament and regarded him taking a beating much like she did Malik taking one; they were just fine.

"Yeah, let's hope that he doesn't jinx it for me, hm?" Chuckling lightly and pressing a kiss to Kaelin's cheek before getting himself up and stretching some despite his armor. Finally. Getting to the good things and he could start creaming the competition. But he playfully presented his cheek to Kaelin, "Luck?"

"I'm almost as old as you are, you can't say I don't know anything about girls. I know plenty." Adjusting his sitting some for comfort as Zykariel then took to explaining the complexity of his sisters. "Oh...well that clears it up. But why would Faate care if Lyssie is flirting with me? She knows I don't like Lyssie that way."

"Faate!" Colliding into his sister in a hug around her waist. "You won! You won Faate! And you looked so pretty doing it too!" Still hugging.

"Indeed, when were you going to come let us celebrate such things? Have we gotten that boring?"

Malik leaned back some, proud of his son. but he knew that bow, and where it came from. before looking to his wife and patting her hand.

"Want me to request him to see Zahara? I don't like the way he was holding his chest after those last two shots. makes me nervous about his condition."

there was the usual fanfare that was the begining of the martial competitions.Malik of course was given his just dues though he didn't go down to the field as he had his wife to take care of at the present time.

but there they all were all walks of life and all ready to try and prove themselves a great warrior without the bloody wars that usually did that. and there was even one there that was furred with large wings. and his fur wasn't black or white.

"Impossible." She felt her cheeks heat as a bunch of people turned to look since they all knew the ceremonial sending off was taking place. She pressed her lips to his cheek then caught him around the neck. "Good luck," she whispered in his ear and then kissed him long and slow and deep. "I'll be right here cheering you on."

"Then I wouldn't have to explain this to you." Yes, Zykariel was still an arrogant know it all. Age hadn't tempered that one bit. "It doesn't matter. Lyssie outdoes her in flirting and she knows she can't compete. If you even gave Lys the time of day, you upset Faate. And now you have to go make it right."

She leaned down and hugged him tightly against her legs, ruffling his hair. "Well, thank you Kithaan. Girls like to hear that they look pretty." Glancing up and giving her father a smile. "Hi Daddy. I was just going to get something to eat first. Do you...want to come?"

"He held back for some reason. And then he tried to show off with a move that didn't really do anything. I didn't like the ice encasing thing at all."

Malik leaned back lightly, and waiting to hear piper's excitement. though the old cat definately was showing his age a bit...malik seriously thought he'd been dead by now. apparently the conduit had given the feline an elvish lifespan. which was good and bad for him. good that things he provided he could still get, bad that he'd have to put up with him.

the darker furred feline was watching as well, though being quiet and unobtrusive. his twin was here to play healer...he didn't know if his mother was here or not.

in the early fights, Valten was showing his raw power...many of his opponents were simply beaten brutally into submission with his hands. he was ruthless, violent, and had no problem apparently breaking bones simply to break them and cripple his opponents against him. At least two had to be carried out of the arena. though he wasn't invulnerable, and had taken some heavy hits himself. had even dislocated his shoulder in one contest, but simply had it put back in before the next.

His early matches were a showcase of age over youth. mant opponents fell to simply underestimating him. he wasn't quite as fast as he was in his younger years, or as strong...but he knew a great deal more about anatomy and leverage then his younger, in most cases, opponents.

"He'll be fine, he just needs to sit for a bit. He'll just fuss otherwise because he doesn't like to be labeled sick of any kind. You know that, pickier than me with healers. Even Zahara." One kid down and one to go. Turning her attention back to the field to occupy her mind elsewhere other than thinking about getting sick, she blinked a few times. Wait a moment..."Okay, sanity check. Am I hallucinating from whatever Zahara gave me, or am I really seeing who I think I'm seeing. And don't play with me about the answer, that'll get you hurt." If she was hallucinating, she wanted to know.

He was a little surprised by the amount of luck he received but at the same time, it meant Kaelin was ever coming out of her little shell. Which was always a good thing. "Wouldn't have it any other way." Thusly it was on to seeing how many people he could crush and how far he could go. Frankly, Malikhai never went into the ring with the mind dead set on winning it all. He wanted the competition...and winning was a perk. Besides, when he won it meant he didn't because he bowed out to his father.

His own matches were clearly him playing with the competition that he knew he could play with. Rarely did he showcase his magics, as those were for later. Anyone who wimped out on him, he let go easily without hassle and continued to rank climb to the bigger and better competition. Which was the good part as that meant pulling out all the stops.

"Shut up." Rolling his eyes at the older elf but then giving a frustrated noise. "But that's not fair. I didn't even do anything." Looking over his shoulder. "Are you forcing me or asking nicely?"

"I know, Zykariel told me they do." Taking advice from that one was questionable, but hey it worked in this case. "Yes! Can we daddy? I'm hungry."

"You're always hungry." Faate wasn't really going to get something to eat, but he knew that. She did to, but now she was going to have to live up to her lie. "A little something won't hurt. You need your strength after all."

"Well I don't know why, but he seemed happy enough." A little shrug, "It was pretty impressive, if not just pretty by itself. Maybe it's because I used the less popular elements?" Tugging at his tunic some still and taking his own measured breaths.

"Yes, that is who you think it is."

grinning lightly at his wife.

"And no, I didn't request him to come here...I don't know why he's here."

Onyx was nodding lightly watching his father dispose of competition. He'd asked his father to come after a visit home...he thought he father would enjoy the tournament to get him out of the den and back into some excitement. he was well aware of his father's age as well, and though it would do him some good.

Valten was waiting his turn, watching Malikhai. he would find the weaknesses in the younger D'vinn. and then he'd take on the older D'vinn.

"It doesn't matter when it comes to those two." Turning his attention back to the field. "Lyssie is just like my mom and Faate is jealous of her. You're going to upset one of them no matter what you do. You just have to figure out which one you don't want to upset and not worry about the other one." Turning to look at him. "Suggesting. But that's only if you want anything to do with either of them."

Zahara was quite busy with Valten on the field. People were coming in all torn up right and left. She was familiar with Dhairiss' issue but knew better than to push it though she did have one of her younger healers keeping an eye on him. The moment his face lost color or he looked sick she was pouncing, regardless. She had another intern keeping an eye on Malik and Piper. And she was so going to kick Malik's a**.

She led the way to one of the small taverns open for business since she really wasn't hungry but it would be easier to sit down and try to eat something than stand within the crowd. "I suppose." Keeping Kithaan's hand in her own, she slid into one of the chairs at the table. "I'd love a bowl of soup and some ale, please."

He shrugged. "I don't know. Tournament rules are weird anyway."
PostPosted: Thu Apr 16, 2009 4:35 pm

"What's that supposed to mean, 'if I want anything to do with either of them'?" making a noise and shaking his head. "All I know is that Faate can still hurt me and Lyssie...well she can but not as much."

He was happy to follow around, order more than his stomach could handle and then try to put it all down as he sat with the two of them. "When are mama and the others gonna eat? Should we bring them back something?"

"Just ale for me." Turning a look over the table then to his daughter. "If you keep this up, you're going to have a nice title to go home with." Looking to Kit, "Eat slower."

"Now I have to wonder if I should worry about him being here or not. Granted, any leaping with joy is out of the way. Wouldn't want to slosh anyone around and pay the price for it. I hate sitting still." Hm, must be where Dhairiss got it from.

Coming back off the field from another match he took off his helm, wiping some sweat from his face and grabbing him something to drink. Oh it was grand competition this year, but his eyes were being drawn to who was who. That being the Tier'dal from earlier...and someone he wasn't quite sure he knew but at the same time did. At the very least, he looked like Onyx.

"I don't think you have to worry...if it was somethign to worry about I'm sure he'd informed you himself by now about what it was."

though a slight grin at her and a pat on her hand.

"I guess now we know why your youngest is so flighty, don't we."

Valten was again breaking bones. at present he had his opponent on his knees his hand and wrist twisted a round and forcing him tot he ground further, to make him submit before he'd forced his throat along the blade of the axe he carried.

Onyx was quietly talking to his father, while he made sure his twin was taking care of any injuries he might have gotten. Though he was also keeping a look on the competition this year as well.

Cymarron for his part was relaxing between rounds. he was enjoying himself, the feel of combat and the old days. He was more a teacher now then a warrior. So it felt good to get to do that again.

It had been a long time since she'd been in this part of the labyrinth. In fact, she'd kind of skipped out without telling anyone. Typical to character, Aella was dressed in layers of silk wrappings; some opaque and some transparent. She had years to work on her skills, and here for the tournament she was ready to test her studies.

Malik shook his head lightly, though watching the other Tier'dal combatant. and nothign his armor and weapon.

"He's part of the Indigo Brotherhood. the warrior's guild. he hasn't displayed any magical prowess at all but a great deal of physical endurance and power."

Onyx's head perked up...and he looked around, scanning. for the moment his brother and father were forgotten, as his nose told him someone very special had shown up...who he was already looking to find.

Valten threw his opponent backward after forcing his submission, and walking past Malikhai, giving him a meaningful look, before settling down by Cerrilia who was watching over things.

Cymarron watched his son go off, but said nothign on it while merely enjoying the comany of his children. Rand had opted to stay home with his other three daughters, calling this his 'vacation'. she knew he missed the thrill of combat outside of his Hunting he had to do.

((Must....stop...animating...scenes running together in...non-cross dissovle ways....))

“I suppose so. He seems rather content to just play with the other children, to turn a phrase.” Giving him a grin and a shake of her head, “We’ve always known that much.” Of course when it came to Valten…such things happening weren’t really frowned upon. Tournament in the Underdark was tough and if you slipped up enough or weren’t ready enough to get yourself killed, well sometimes there weren’t any penalties. Age a factor and what not, but still…killing and maiming without any taste to it all was frowned on. "I don't remember that one, you must not have been too concerned about it if you weren't lecturing me on them." Jumping lightly though as a young elf popped up next to them.

"Mom, dad, what are those winged cat things?" After all, he had never seen those things before. And of course them being new and him being flighty and curious...yeah it was taking all his restraint not to go poke. And there was that other thing, "Did I do good?"

Malikhai watched, studied , learned in the short span of time he was allowed and he could already start to tell who was going to be slated into the finals and who wasn't. It happened pretty quickly but everyone knew that jousting could tip the point in favor of anyone who was good at it. Till then it was merely maintaining the average.

"the indigo brotherhood is just the warriros guild. the military might of Neriak, loyal to the king. highly trained in all manner of fighting styles, they favor brute force and endurance over magic."

glancing at his son, nad giving a slight grin.

"Those are winged Vah Shir. a feline people native to Norrath. they are a new species of that race. Cymarron is thier Adam, and Rand the Raven thier Eve. you can talk to them all you want. in fact I'm sure cymarron would enjoy it."

Onyx caught up to Whirlwind, lightly taking her arm and pulling her over for a hug.

"where have you been hiding out? I've been worried to death about you. I've been trying to find you for...heck I don't know how long anymore."
PostPosted: Sat Apr 18, 2009 10:57 pm

More than a little surprised as she wasn't expecting to suddenly be engulfed in fur. Aella's hug back was delayed, but she returned in nonetheless. "Onyx! My goodness..." She has only half expected to find him here, thought he would have moved on by now.

"I've been sailing, more or less." She gave a half shrug, "trying to work myself out."

"In other words, nothing to worry about as far as you're concerned because you're in good with them." Ruffling Dhairiss' hair in old mannerism as he was being perky again. "You did grand." Shaking her head lightly, "Don't tell him that he'll go down there now. I'm sure you'll get your chance to inspect things when there's a break for food and such later. And yes before you ask, we do know them."

"How come I have to figure things out all later than everyone else?" Plopping down and scratching at his hair some, mostly to watch his brother. "I don't think he's going to win this year. Something is on his mind." Flightly, but observant.
