humble_gypsy_traveller Sammirah Well, I have a happy announcement. Today my boyfriend and I decided we want to get married. We basically proposed to each other. whee We might even do a courtroom wedding before I fly home in two weeks, if it will help his immigration process. We're not telling a whole lot of people just yet, but I wanted to share it with you guys. heart Oh wow...that's awesome Sammie! *huggles* Do you know how long it would be before he would be able to come back with you? SOO HAPPY FOR YOUS!!!!!! Thanks everyone for the well wishes. whee @Humble: Not sure yet. We'll be leaving for the capital next week and then spending about 10 days there before I fly home. In that time, we're going to look into all that's necessary, all the legal junk, for him to immigrate. I've heard the process can be a big b***h, which is worrying, but hopefully we can start doing everything the right way once we get the information. It's possible that it would be best, legally, for us to get a marriage certificate now before I go back home. (It's not easy or affordable to hop back and forth between the two countries). Oh well. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Exxos I got a call from my father. They did another scan in preparation for my grandmother's hysterectomy and there are two other masses in her abdomen and one on her ovary... After the surgery she is going to be on chemo. Sorry to hear that, Exxos. And sorry I'm so late in saying so. My best wishes to you and your family.

Sammirah (It's not easy or affordable to hop back and forth between the two countries). $1500 to $3000 USD and anywhere from 25 to 32 hours in flight just to get from the Dhaka, Bangladesh (this was what kept coming up, does Paro not have an airport anymore?) to Vancouver apparently. *cringe* I don't know where in Canada you're heading beyond that, but anything more than a single stop and 8 hours in the air is enough to make me shudder.

Keeping my fingers crossed! I would imagine that it wouldn't be easy or cost effective. Well as long as you have the best legal help and it would help to have the support of family, I'm sure you'll both get through with it fine no matter how long it takes. You two will be in my prayers and I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hopes up for the both of you! *hugs*

Yup, Vancouver/Victoria. No, Paro still has the airport. I'm flying through Bangkok though, not Dhaka. But yeah, it's about two and a half days travelling. And not cheap. Plus, if I want to return to Bhutan as a normal person (now that my work contract is up) I would more than likely have to pay the daily $250 tourist fee.
