Makes life a lot simpler and a lot less time consuming." Smirking at her across the table, "Yet you still pout about being predictable."
"Careful, I may take you up on that offer. See if you've indeed come a far way from stick fighting and the like. I won't lie, a woman with a blade can be quite the enamouring sight." Smirking at her, "Teach me things like what? Or is that hush hush secret?"

"But I like cat and mouse games. And I like trying to figure out just what it is you're after." Taking another bite and then chuckling. "You made it sound bad. Is Piper predictable?" Quirking an eyebrow and waiting to see how he was going to answer this one. It ought to be good.
"I think you'd be quite pleasantly surprised to see just how far I have come, Malikhai. I might not be able to beat you but I'm fairly sure it wouldn't be an easy fight for you to win, either." Giving him a grin and then leaning on him once more. "How light on your feet are you, young Lord D'vinn?"

"I'm pretty predictable myself unless there's the slight occasional outburst of curiosity from me over something new and fun I've discovered." Shrugging his shoulders casually and taking to finishing off his second portion of food. "Piper predictable? Hardly...and mostly why she infuriates me on levels that I can barely comprehend myself. Thus why she makes me cranky."
"Oh really, you're just intriguing me more and more as time passes." Resting his arms behind himself at the small of his back as she leaned against him and boasted. "I can be pretty light. I think I may have to call your bluff. Shall we have a go at it?"

"But your predictability comes from your issues, Sevilin. If you weren't predictable you wouldn't be able to stand yourself." Which should have translated positively in those terms when he spoke of her to her as well, but she was dwelling on other things. "But that makes Piper mysterious. And mysterious is sexy."
"As can I." She laughed at his stance and then stepped back and gave him a curtsy. "I think we shall. But don't say I didn't warn you." She did a double flip, landing at the top of the stairs with a smirk and then gracefully began to make her way down.

Malik was simply enjoying spending time with his wife, and monitoring the bond waves. he was getting better at that, and could tell something had his oldest excited. which made him want to go see and be nosy and curious about it. After all his oldest son was very buisness minded like his father..getting him excited was something unique normally.

A little frown at that. "We don't talk about my issues, remember?" Shrugging lightly, "I like structure." Though she was right, he wouldn't be able to stand himself if he didn't know almost exactly what he was going to be doing everyday. "First off, Piper and sexy in the same sentence doesn't work out in my head. Secondly, I get enough mystery in my life." Watching her. "This...Piper thing has you acting all strange."
Did she just get all fancy on him? Yes yes she did. That made him grin and he followed her before passing her and heading down the stairs, and thus leading her down to the arena. "This is your production, pick your weapon and I'll follow lead. See if you're bluffing or not."

She reached over and gently patted his hand. "I still love you." It was hard for him to understand where her mind was going and she really did understand his confusion. "Well, I'm glad you feel that way but it still gets to me." Shaking her head and returning to her food. "I guess I do get kind of weird when Piper gets pregnant. It just gets me thinking, you know? Not about having another baby but other things."
Her lips curved as he drifted past her and she hurried to catch up to him, testing the ground in the arena. He wanted her to lead this? Very well. She began testing weapons, picking up swords and giving a few practice swings. It was heavier than she was used to but it would do. "I only bluff when I'll get something out of it. Come on, Lord D'vinn, draw your weapon and let me school you."

A blink and light frown for a moment in distraction as Nym more or less jumped over his plate and decided to steal what meat remained there, apparently deeming that Sevilin was done since it hadn't been touched in a few minutes. Rolling eyes back to his wife across the table, he tilted his head. "What kind of other things?"
He studied how she went about picking her weapons and what not, noticing that she was more or less feeling for weight over full functionality. "Oh so there's something to gain out of it, what could that be?" Having his own sword brought to him and unsheathing it, giving it a swing before meandering closer to her and taking a stance. "Teach me then."

She'd forgotten a plate for Nym but he always managed to get some anyway. In the Inthara family it was every elf for himself at the table though she refused to let it devolve into complete chaos. Fiddling with her napkin, she searched for the best way to say such things. "The kinds of things that lead to having babies. Piper has been in a certain state for quite a while now."
Unaware he was scrutinizing her already, she spun once or twice on her feet and then stepped up to meet him with her sword held at the ready. "I think beating the infamous Lord D'vinn is enough of a reason, don't you?" She gave him a respectful bow, holding her sword against his and then stepped back and began to circle. "This fight is not limited to blades, Malikhai. You may use anything you feel might help you win, except magic. Agreed?"

He stared at her stupidly from across the table, momentarily distracted by his bangs falling into his eyes and blowing them out of his vision befor continuing to watch her. "The sex thing?" Was this some kind of odd way for her to be hinting around wanting something from him? Why didn't she just ask?
"I suppose. Not much motivation on my part, I dont' enjoy hitting women." But fair enoug he'd play the game. And he didn't move from his stance as she started circling him. A small chuckle though, only his eyes moving to watch her in her motions, "I don't need anything but a sword."

She really should know better than to hint at such things. Sevilin had never truly been able to get her hints and it had always driven him crazy to try. "Not just the sex thing, Raven, although you know I enjoy that too. The whole thing. The intimacy, talking together, walking together, being together. Malik and Piper have been together practically nonstop. Most of the time they were having sex, but still." Sighing and picking up her plate. "Sometimes I miss you."
She watched him, trying to handle the heavier sword and get used to the shifting sand of the arena all at once. She was light enough on her feet to at least keep him striving to beat her. But obviously he wasn't going to deliver the first blow which they both knew could easily give over the advantage in a fight to one's opponent. She danced forward, swiping her blade low right around his knees, anticipated the block and moved high to thrust once more. "We'll see about that."

Oh so that's what this was about. He wasn't exactly quite sure what to say to that for a moment as he watched her start to be domestic again. "Well it is a bit easier for them to be together, they both practically work from home. You and me are busy all day." Trying to give some rational...did she think that he was trying to avoid her or something? "We can always send the kids to the fortress for a while, so that it's just you and me."
He blocked both moves and fluidly moved to parry her attack, going on the offenseive to her with quick strokes that flowed one into the other, which forced her to keep moving. "So far, I'm proving to be right." Yes he was taking it a bit easy on her right now, waiting to judge her level of ease with this all before he would up anything.

"I know that and it's not like you ignore me." Shaking her head. "We can't do that now, Sevilin. With Piper pregnant the last thing they need is another set of children running around. She's going to be the only thing Malik is worried about for the next year." Leaning against the sink and contemplating the soapy dishes. She really should go ahead and just was them all. "I'm just being silly and selfish, that's all."
She met him blow for blow, stepping back but keeping her blade moving as fast as his was. She was still doing alright. His comment had her quirking a brow, feinting a blow to his chest and using her own momentum to carry him between his spread legs. Knocking her own sword against the backs of his knees, she laughed and jumped back to her feet. "You were saying?"

"Then make Faate and Zykariel watch their brothers and sister, and you and me can go off somewhere for a few days. And don't tell me that we shouldn't push their siblings onto them, they can help out without whining." Though he had the feeling that Malik wouldn't be the only one mostly preoccupied with Piper for the next year. Getting himself up he wandered over to her, slipping his arms around he waist and pulling her from the sink some. "It's not selfish. You look after other people's kids all day and then you play cleric for everyone else. You have to take care of you too."
Did she just one up him and pull the back of the knees things? She did. It was very amusing to him, to say the least. "Touche, I see I'm underestimating you. I'll make sure not to take it easy then." Whirling on her then with blade following down in the motion, this time with more force than he had been using before and continuing to advance on her, she wanted to play rough and he'd play rough as she wished.

That suggestion had merit. "That is why we had the brats, isn't it?" Leaning back against her husband as he decided to take her thoughts to heart. Now might not be the absolute best time to go away but in the near future it wouldn't be such a bad idea anyway. One hand rested against his cheek and her lips gently brushed the other side. "You forgot coming home and taking care of our kids and you. I love my jobs but sometimes I just need a break." Swiveling in his arms, she turned her back on the dishes entirely and encircled his neck. "Think you can take me away for a little while now, Raven?"
Perhaps it hadn't been wise to rile him up so soon into the fight. He had more strength than she did so she'd have to rely on her endurance to get her through. She was fast on her feet, pulling in intricate dance steps to keep her blade flashing far more than it was stationary. Seeing an opportunity, she swung hard to the left, hoping to jar his sword with her own and knock it from his grasp. Then she could finish him off without the blades at all.
