She looked to him, then to their youngest...whom seemed more interested in his milk than anything else at the moment, before turning her eyes back to Malik. "Let her be for a few days. Despite all that's involved, you don't need to make her cry by bringing up things she'd rather not talk about just yet."
"But that's no fun sometimes." It was weird to hear that kind of thing from Zykariel but he'd go with it. Kit concentrated on brushing the horse, trying not to do it too hard but hard enough to do it right. When she shied, he did as well, which probably made for a cute sight. "Why do horses like sugar so much?"
Pulling away from her, he got her a glass of water and brought it back, sliding it into her fingers but not letting go until he was sure she had a good grip on it, slipping the other arm around her to help her sit up some more. kept himself quiet though, since there was no reason for stupid questions at the moment.

"I may need information sooner then a few days, but I'll refrain for now."
though a slight smirk.
"I thought I was working your appetite up to match mine. what happened?"
Yes, poking fun just because he could, though he noted she was still flushed and giggly. and if anything it seemed even more aggressive. like her body thought the usual wasn't good enough it needed more.

Carrying on his own conversation with his horse, he glanced over to his little brother and gave him a smirk. "Well, sugar is sweet. You like sugar so why should a horse be any different?" Stepping up behind him, he gently guided Kit's hand to be a little more firm but also gentle enough. "Do you want to go for a ride, Kit?"
She tightened her grip on the glass and shifted to sit up with his help, then carefully allowed the liquid to trickle down her throat. When she'd taken her fill, she let him reclaim the glass. "I'm really glad you came when I called, Khai. Really glad."

Food was thus flung from her fork at him. "Your information can wait. This isn't something that puts the whole of your empire in peril. She's upset, she's hurting, you don't need to add emotional things on top of it. If I have to distract you, then I will and you know I have that capability right now in vast amounts."
"Ew, I thought we weren't supposed to talk about that. Children in the room. When are you going to quit that anyway, it's kinda creepy mom."
"Hush you. And I am eating, you're just distracting me from the food." Punctuated of course by a giggle and another fork full of food flung at him.
"Some people don't like sweet stuff, but all horses seem too. It's kind of weird." Shrugging lightly but letting him brother help him all the same with a smile, seeing as he did enjoy every moment of attention from anyone he could get. "Destyny is a racing horse, not a riding horse...right?" There was a difference to him, he hadn't figured out too much intricaties yet.
Taking the glass back from her, he set it aside before sitting on the edge of the bed, giving her a once over. "I'm just really glad you did call." Shaking his head lightly, "I shouldn't have let you go home last night."

Children often noticed things adults missed, which was once again being proven true. "Maybe because elves can have all sorts of sweet things but horses only get one. They can't have Popsicles and chocolate cake like you can." He couldn't resist letting his fingers tickle at the much smaller elf's vulnerable sides but stayed right behind him to catch him in case he fell. "Right, but she still likes to be ridden sometimes and we could take another horse out, too."
She probably really didn't want to know how badly she looked but having felt all of the blows, slices, and other tortures, she also knew it couldn't be good. Then again, Zahara was supposedly one of the best healers in the Underdark so maybe she didn't look as bad as she thought. "No, I should have let you talk me out of going home last night. But...it's never been this bad before, Khai."

He gave a chuckle at her food throwing, and tossed some right back at her...before rolling hsi eyes at his youngest.
"You're old enough to know about it, then your old enough to hear referances of it."
And back to his wife.
"You can eat and be distracted by me at the same time I've seen you do it before."

"I 'spose." that made perfect sense to him. Besides, horses were picky and vain creatures as he had come to learn. Continuting to brush the horse he tried not to fidget too much as he laughed at his brother's tickling. "But then she gets left behind." Petting at Destyny, "She doesn't like to be second in anything."
Wasn't this always the way? Blaming themselves but each other not letting them blame themselves. It was a weird twisted concept but somehow it worked. "Either way, you shouldn't have gone home last night." That was the fact of the matter now wasn't it? "Things tend to get more intense with age. I suppose that's a way to look at it."
"Yeah, but it's no necessary to talk about it." He was just happy his parent's room was soundproofed...not that they used their room all the time but that was where the majority of things took place.
Just to make a point she tended to her food some and completely ignored him. "Just because I can do it doesn't mean I want to do it all the time. Besides whenever you distract me these days in the way I want, we never get anything done."

"We do, we just don't get as much done as we would like. and you being content and happy is important too, you know."
taking to his own food, and ignoring his youngest son's comment for the moment, and finishing before settling back just a bit and letting the rest of his family enjoy themselves.

Zykariel watched to make sure Destyny was really being brushed and then chuckled. His brother was quite the sharp little elf, really. "No, she certainly does not. She's like most women, Kit. They really like to come first in your life. Just like Mama does in yours."
"No...it's something else. I don't know what, I wasn't really paying attention to the yelling. I was too busy trying to get away." Still sitting up, she rested her chin on her covered knees and pushed her hands through her hair. "What am I supposed to do now?"

"Yes I know. It's one of those top priority things that you so do enjoy. And that I so benefit from. Everyone goes home happy."
"Girls are funny." Because he was at that age right now where girls were still weird and icky. "I gotta fight daddy for mama sometimes. But I win a lot." Beaming to that fact before handing the brush back to his brother.
"At least you were trying to get away. That's the important part." It made him feel better to at least know that she didn't just sit there and take whatever they wanted to dish out. "You let me take care of it. That's what you do." Resting a hand on her shoulder, "You just concentrate on you. Whatever you need, I'll get it from there for you, and I'll handle the rest of it all."

Malik gave a nod, letting his family that was here eat, making sure that some was sent to his oldest so he'd have something as well, since he'd probably not think to eat while she ws recovering. that boy was more like him then anyone knew, indeed.
"Indeed. Just like with your solarium."
A chuckle at his wife and a kiss on the cheek for her.
Cerrilia was lightly drumming her fingers on her desk. some of the students other then lyssie had failed, and failed miserably. But, at least they were willing to work on it and study harder. several even asked for advice, to fix what had found them out.
But right now she was waiting for one of the inthara parents to show up for a parent/teacher/teacher conference.

"That's because you're so cute." Ruffling his hair, he took the brush and put it back on the shelf, then lightly patted Destyny down to assure himself of her strength and wellness. "What do you want to do now, squirt?"
She glanced over at him and took a deep breath. This always caused a fight. "How do you plan on taking care of it, Malikhai?" This time she was feeling more likely to let him take care of it but still. It was hard to know that his ways likely involved violence to one or both of her parents. "And I suppose that means I stay here from now on?"
Zahara's linkstone flagged her with a reminder that she had something else to do and she sighed then left a message with one of the many servants roaming about the place. She and Sevilin had a meeting to have. Heading back to their own piece of land, she walked inside and stood in the foyer. "Raven? Are you ready to go? We have to be at the school in ten minutes."

Of course for Dhairiss, food only kept his attention till it was gone and when his milk was done he was getting up. “Resume your fluffy talk, I’m going elsewhere.” Stretching his arms above his head with a noise and going to go fetch that dagger he was going to show to Kelligrin.
She shook her head as their flighty child let his wandering nature get the better of him once more and once food was gone, so was he. Piper had to smile at the mentioning of the much loved anniversary gift and the kiss that came with it. “You always did say you’d drag the surface down into the underdark for me if you had to. Sure, I never believed you but you sure showed me that you do keep all your promises, mo matter how silly they may seem. And that thing gets put to good use everyday.” Which was true, at least an hour a day she was out there.
"I'm the cutest." Giggling lightly before giving his brother the pick me up gesture. Zykariel was an inch or two shy of his father and thus by Kit's shandards could pick him up when he was feeling extra clingy. "Tell me a racing story?"
"I'm not sure yet exactly how I'm going to take care of it, just what things need to happen first. Like taking care of you and making sure you don't get tangled up in that any longer. It's a step by step thing...but don't worry about it." Looking to the door a moment as there was a knock and someone came in with some food, setting down the tray that he assumed had been sent up for him. "Well...not have to stay here necessarily if you don't want to. I'm just not letting you go back to them, or any place they can even try to come to you. There's plenty of places under Twilight's watch you can stay if you'd rather not stay here." The answer should have been 'yes'...but he was still eggshell walking here.
"I thought we discussed that I didn't have to go?" Or rather he had tried to get himself out of it, but Zahara wasn't letting him. He didn't like that woman at all and didn't enjoy being near her. Coming out of the kitchen, snacking on something or other she had made earlier in the week, he meandered over and stepped into his boots anyway. "But fair enough. Sooner started, sooner finished. Thusly letting Faate know they were going and to watch Kit when Zykariel brougth him back in, he wrapped an arm around her waist and with a quick rune they were where they needed to be and walking into the classroom of one tier'dal he'd try not to hurt.

The kid weighed absolutely nothing and Zykariel lifted him up easily, balancing him on his hip. "A racing story, hm? You know dad doesn't like you listening to those. But if you really want one, I'll tell you about the time I discovered Destyny has magical powers."
He always said that. Don't worry about it, he'd take care of it. She was inclined to let him do so this time but she wanted to know before he got himself mixed up in something it was better that he didn't and ended up hurt because of it. "Just promise me you won't confront them." Settling back against the pillows, she glanced at the food but her mouth was too swollen to eat anything. "I don't want to go anywhere else."
"Not quite." Zahara knew better than to talk to a teacher alone, especially this one. She was like a mother bear when it came to her kids and while she didn't believe they were angels, some teachers seemed to have a negative opinion of her babies for no reason at all. Her children were as well behaved as any others. And she also didn't want to get fired or strain her working relationship. Cerrilia wasn't going anywhere either. Stepping in, she quirked an eyebrow at the teacher and shook her head. "Are we late? We're the Inthara's." Not that any introduction was needed but formalities were important. "I'm Zahara and this is my husband, Sevilin."

"All the horses are special. You want me to think that she has extra special magical powers?" Skeptical look from the boy at his eldest brother. "And he only doesn't like me to because he says I get too overexcited. I don't think anyone can be overexcited."
Granted, he wanted to really badly look those people in the face and tell them exactly how horrible of people they were...but that was for his own need he supposed. "I promise I won't." Letting her settle and glancing at the food, which he would have tried to get her to poke at but that was the 'I don't want to do anything' look. But a little nod. "Then you'll stay here, and I'll get your things from Vesendar. If I can't do that, then I'll just get you new everything."
