"That's okay. He'll talk to me and you won't get in any trouble for disturbing him." Zykariel would make sure of it. He wasn't about to have his a** handed to him by letting his brother do something he wasn't supposed to. "That's a good sign, Kit." He took the empty bowl and washed it out, then walked over to his father's training room, lifting his fist and giving a knock. "Dad?"

"Don't give me that look or that sound, Dhairiss D'vinn. My kids try it and get whacked with a wooden spoon. I won't hesitate to do the same to you." Chuckling at that and then reaching out and tugging him closer to her. "I think I have a pretty good idea what it is but I'm pretty surprised it hasn't been noticed before now. Or did you just not tell anybody?"

"Yay." Sitting at the table obediantly and kicking his feet lightly as he waited.

Sevilin was just finishing up his little morning ritual of meditating to balance his runic energies. Sometimes Faate joined him, sometimes not. Getting himself up, he canceled out runes and opened the door to his oldest son. "Well, didn't expect you to be up yet. Need something?"

"Where do you keep it..." Blinking at that moment before shaking his head as if he was letting that notion go. "I just didn't bother anyone. Really, what's the big deal? Everyone has a quirk when they overdo things.

"It'll curb stress because it'll distract you. I'll even feed you strawberries with that cream stuff you like by hand."

Smirking lightly and whispering to her.

"I'll even sneak you some cinnamon if it'll really help."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 10:20 am

"No, it won't distract me. I'll be thinking about how it all could mostly use some cinnamon." Though of course he was being evil and playing her nature against her at the moment. Because anything that flushed and giggle recognized as affectionate attention, it went after. "Aren't you loving. Make sure something gets up to Khai, I doubt he's being social at the moment."

"I know. and that situation is going to be taken care of. I don't like being lied to, and there's some other things involved. I sent a notice to your parents as well expressing my displeasure at being kept out of the loop."

before settling down to the usual arrays of food, and yes indeed, cinnamon was available in a shaker. though making sure a plate was arranged and sent to his oldest as well whom he was sure was going to be on vigil over kaelin.

Rune pockets were wonderful for moments just like these. She pulled a spoon and brandished it in the younger D'vinn's direction with a chuckle. "Don't push me." Shaking her head, she quirked an eyebrow at him and moved her attention to his parents. "Don't you dare go feeding her things like that, Malik. If you want to find out what it is that's causing her to be like this constantly, you have to stick to a single diet." Honestly, they were like children plotting to steal cookies before dinner when mom was standing there listening to every word that was said.

But her gaze swung back to Dhairiss and she frowned. "My son has a problem with his heart, too."

"Just your permission. Kit wants to go out and help me take care of Destyny but since he's sick, we knew we needed to make sure it was okay first."

"Careful love, she won't hesitated to smack the backs of our hands with the dreaded wooden spoon either." Piper was going to be grumpy for a few days, she knew that much. No cinnamon made her that way. "I'm sur you requested a visit from them in there too." But she did know what Zahara was talking about when it came to Dhairiss, and she didn't like her mentioning things either...Dhairiss didn't remember any of that. "He's fine Zahara. Besides, I don't think you can possibly handle another person to look after right now."

"Right...you people do indeed pull things out of nowhere. I don't know how I feel about you carrying that with you all the time but I do fine it funny so I'm just going to smile." Goofy grin before sitting down. "Which one? And why are we calling it a problem? It's not a problem. I'm not sick in any shape or form." Digging into his own food...and taking the shaker of cinnamon from in front of his mother and setting it off to the side of the table, just to help out. However, shor attention span, "Grandparents are potentialy coming? Awesome."

"Honestly he's not really sick sick...his head is just stuffed up." And in Sevilin's book that wasn't sick, but a lot of things in his book didn't equal sick like they did in his wife's. "He can go, just don't bounce him around too much just in case, okay?" Blinking then as if he had just remembered something, "How long are you going to be staying this time?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 8:57 pm

"They better be. someone has some explaining to do....despite Lateef's letter."

before a glance to Zahara, and getting a inch of cinnamon to put on piper's food just because he said he would...before noting his youngest back to flopping between subjects like a fish on a boat deck.

"Besides, we'll see how things go. I'll sign you up for tournmant in teh archery competitions if you want. at least it would give you something to look forward to while we're there."

Grinning lightly.

"I think this year is going to be particularly enjoyable."

"Very well." Obviously such things hadn't been completely discussed which really didn't surprise her. "Just be careful and try not to overexert yourself." Thus, giving a nod to them both and heading upstairs to check on Kaelin once more. She rested a hand on Malikhai's shoulder, settling into a chair beside him. "Watching her isn't going to change anything."

"Promise." Turning to leave, he was stopped by his father's voice. "I hadn't fully decided. I probably won't head back until Monday. Have to make sure Kit is feeling better and able to go to school." Giving his father a grin. "Haven't decided to get rid of me already, have you?"

It really was cute how he defyed doctor's orders sometimes for her sheer delight even when he knew sticking to them would be best. A sweet smile to him before looking at their youngest who was intent on trying to do several things at once as tournament came up. She didn't like to remember those personally, two things happening was more than enough for her. "You talked him into signing up for archery?" Turning her look back to Malik. "You're not going to cause trouble to make it particularly enjoyable, are you?"

"I figure I'd give it a shot. Pun intended." Chuckling at himself on that one before a little shrug. "I'm still trying to talk him into changing the rules so I can use magic." Because it would just end up being awesome. "Oh you mean, something to look forward to besides all the neat stuff that's buyable and often hazardous to someone's health?"

"I know that." Turning his eyes over to Zahara as she decided to come check on things again. "But when she comes to she's going to be all disoriented and what not. I don't think she's ever stayed here long enough to know the un-personalized rooms." And they could get the whole 'I hate you' thing out of the way.

"Have I ever tried to get rid of you? I try to get you to stay but you're just too damn fidgety to stay put in one place." Chuckling lightly and clapping his son on the back. "Besides, your mother has to have someone to fawn over for a few days. Makes her feel better."

Making sure the girl was still breathing and the swelling was dropping as it should be, she resettled into the chair and studied the boy that she considered as her own. "You're afraid, Malikhai. I can see it in the way you are trying so hard to hide it. Another wouldn't realize the fear was there, but I knew you when you didn't know how to hide it. Why are you really up here and unable to leave her side?"

"I can't have sex here." Glancing behind him to make sure little ears were not listening in. "I can't have wild parties and be a reprobate as I do so enjoy doing." Giving his father the Inthara grin and nodding. "Precisely my thoughts. I don't much like what's going on between Cerrilia and Lyssie, either. Has she said anything to you lately?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 10:23 pm

"She's going to be so angry with me." He was sure this was ironic somewhere. He cared for her, they were best friends, her family treated her like hell and she fought againt him to stay in her little life and would not appreciate that he had taken some liberties here. Now, a cycle would start and she was going to loathe every moment of it. Shaking his head lightly with a sigh then, looking back to Zahara once more. "Still don't understand women." Men would eternally be confused, he was sure of that.

"Right right, you can't do anything fun here or your mother will slap you across the ears with a spoon." Shaking his head lightly to that with a laugh, even he had that spoon swept across the tips of his ears for something or other. Sighing to that other notion though, "Nothing, which is when you know something is wrong because she loves to keep talking all the time. Care to fill in some details?" Still did not like that his son associated with that woman...but there wasn't much he could do about that.

"Not doing anything horrible. I just altered a little bit on malikhai's entry and he didn't bother to read over it before signing it so this time there's no throwing in the towel right away."

Piper would know what he meant, and that got a grin.

"Granted the first two times were fine, it was a healthy respect, adn I admire the idea. but after the fourth and fifth..it just gets a bit annoying and it starts looking life fear then respect."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 10:44 pm

"Malik..." The tone slightly chastising but not at the same time. After all, she understood it. Malik wanted to see his son succeed and Malikhai never raised a blade to his father, save in training sessions. Malik retained his champion title because his son refused to take it from him because competition said that's what he had to do. That boy still adored his father after all. "He's going to be furious with you...maybe that will help spur him on, yes? But please dear don't hurt him too badly." Because if they did get into it, even if it was a competition, they would both give their all. "He'll be so disappointed if he loses."

There was more to this story than he was sharing, but she was steadily putting the pieces together through all the things he wasn't saying. It was a talent moms had. "You probably never will, Malikhai. Your father doesn't understand them either." Silence lapsed for a while until Kaelin coughed and her body shuddered. "She's reacting to the magic in her system. She'll be fine." Getting up, she moved into the bathroom and wet a cloth then carried back out to the boy standing vigil. "Sponge her brow, it'll calm her down. It might help if you talk to her, too. Let her know she's not alone."

"And that's not fun." He leaned against the doorframe on the opposite side of his father and shrugged. "I don't know the whole story. There was some kind of test at school where Lys had to take on one form and get some kind of object from another person. Illusions and fooling people, you know? I was the one she was supposed to get something from and Cerrilia was her illusion. I was drunk...things took a turn they shouldn't have."
