"No."
drumming his fingers lightly.
"Malikhai doesn't have chest pains, nor is he as flighty and scattered as you are. Malikhai is steady and straightforward. What kind of pain are you getting and when do you get it?"

"Oh." Blinking to that before triple colored eyes were distracted down to his father's drumming fingers for a few seconds. "That's because Khai is more like you and I'm more like mom." Tilting his head some with his thinking on the question though still not particularly worried at all. "A grippy constricty pain?" Yeah that sounded like it was right. A shrug, "Suppose when things get intense or I push way too hard. I guess that's supposed to happen though. Body telling me to quit or something." He didn't have any other reason he could think of that would cause something like that. Never took a fall or got kicked in the chest by a horse or anything when he was younger. "Is this gonna be the part where you all necro-poke at me or something?" Which got a reserved look from him, eh that stuff was a tad creepy and yet oh so very very intriguing.

Malik frowned lightly, and motioned him over.
"Yes, this is where I get all necro-pokey with you, as you put it."
He had a pretty good idea about this particular problem. some things just never fully heal. So once his son came over, Malik place his hand on his chest, necromantic power oozing through and to the bloostream, lighting lightly under...interesting to see ones own circulatory system.

Cue childish whine of protest from him, even though he knew it wouldn't hurt or anything. It just wasn't a fun prospect for him and well, Dhairiss tend to shy away from what he defined as not fun. But he walked over anyway and stood in arm's length of his father, bracing for the worst. Of course...as was his way nothing was ever horrible for long and well he was distracted right fast as he held up his hands to look at the way things were all lit up. "Okay, I take it back. That's pretty cool." That fascinated look across his features at all of this, the previous distaste apparently gone. "Mom's right though, you worry too much sometimes. You're upset, Khai is upset and mom is...giggly. It all filters down to me. I'm sure you'll find a way to make it up to me."
Of course with his own memories altered from when he was a child, he was not aware of anything that coupld possibly be wrong with him from back then. And he wasn't looking for anything, having too much waggling his fingers so he still didn't question that slight dull spot in the veins and arteries near his heart that didn't show up as brightly due to the thing band of scaring present. Indeed to him, not life threaning but annoying if agitated. "Hey, if it was really dark and even with your dark vision you couldn't see, could you just turn someone into a living lamp?"

Well that explained that, didn't it. Malik took his hand away and smirked lightly.
"In theory, yes I could. But you'll find that my own dark vision, adn your mothers, are rarely if ever snuffed out to that degree. and of course I'd have to be touching them at all times. a true necromancer I'm sure has more advanced learning to not have the requirement."
leaning back some.
"There are things in life you can't help. and my worry is one of them. I worry and concern myself greatly with you boys and your mother, it's part of my nature to be so. Have you given any thought to the tournament this year? perhaps testing your archery skills?"

Dhairiss gave a little disappointed noise at the lack of fun light effects but as with most things he recovered quickly and was as happy as ever in seconds flat. "It would still be neat." Linking blue tipped fingers behind his head. "Guess I just have to put up with that if I enjoy having a loving father hm?" Chukling and lifting his arms to crack his shoulders before dropping his arms and leaning against the desk. "I suppose I could. Be more elves right? Mom said when she competed, it wasn't worth it because she was against all humans and it was too easy for her to win." Or at least that was the version he had heard from his mother. "I don't want to win because it's just too easy. Or if I have magic restrictions."

"there's no magic in the archery contests. just bow and arrow, and I'm sure there will be more then a few other elves in competition. and don't count the humans out yet, they can indeed be just as good in some cases as any elf."
A smirk.
"Yes, it's one of the things you have to put up with. So, how was they party. I know you went...anyone catch your eye?"

"That takes all the flare out of it. Just because most humans can't do it, that means that the rest of us won't have any fun." Grinning at his father, "I think you should change the rules. You can do that after all." Tournament champion and what not. Besides, he was quite aware of his father's influence in this place. A shrug. "If you think I should give it a go, I suppose I could."
Bracing his hands on the deak and hefting himself up to sit on the edge of the piece of furniture. "It was okay. Kelligrin did this cool thing, where he poked me right here and half of me went numb. It was pretty awesome." Giving a snicker snort however that most girls around him found cute, "Not really. Afraid I'm gonna end up all alone because I'm the funny looking one?"

"It couldn't hurt. and not everything is about magical flare. sometimes you have to enjoy the simple things."
watching his son and quirking an eyebrow at the mention of kelligrin's 'neat trick'. that boy was progressing down a path that needed to be watched carefully.
"Not at all. A mere curiousity. after all your brother was not much older then you when he set his eyes on Kaelin. So I'm merely curious if anyone has managed to catch your eye yet."

"I do enjoy the simple things. Sitting in trees, skipping rocks, poking underdark things with sticks and so on. It's just nice to play with what we're born with that makes us look all fancy too." Shrugging again casually and playing with a loose thread he found on the edge of his tunic. "Nope. Girls still think I'm cute anyway. In the 'aw I want to hug you let's be friends' cute way. Doesn't hurt my feelings."

Zykariel laughed, "Of course you can have oatmeal." He wasn't surprised that Kit didn't believe he had any ability to cook but he was about to prove the kid wrong. "Come on, let's go get you something to eat." Crawling out of bed, he made his way downstairs slowly and in no time had a bowl of steaming oatmeal set down in front of his little brother. "You wan cinnamon or sugar or anything in it, squirt?"
"I'm not kidding, Piper." She followed Malikhai upstairs to make sure that her patient was being treated correctly. Zahara didn't want the girl jostled too much or laid in a position that might cause problems later on. Sometimes bodies didn't react too well to healing abilities. Coming back downstairs, she brushed off her hands and quirked an eyebrow at mother and son who seemed at a standstill. "Do you want me to stay around just in case something happens, Malikhai?"

Following his brother downstairs, he grinned happy as could be as oatmeal was set in front of him and he started to dig into it, taking bigger bites than needed and at that break neck pace all the menfolk seemed to eat at. "Nuh uh, it's fine." Rarely did he dress up his food, but that was usually because his mother did it for him before hand. "Can I brush Destyny today?"
They both knew what they were both thinking and like it or not, he knew that she was the one speaking more sense at the moment. He may be anger, and he may want to teach a lesson by equal measures...but that was not something that was needed right now. Zahara seemed keen on distracting him too from letting his anger get the better of himself. Standing there a few more moments before he turned to face them, he gave a little nod. "If you can Zahara." Nodding to his mother though. "Yeah." Giving both of them a look before heading up to his room, indeed to change his clothes.
Walking over to him, she rested a hand on his arm in that soothing manner, looking up to him. Sometimes it still made her laugh that he was finally taller than her and his brother was fast catching up. But nostalgia was for later. "Why don't you go change your clothes? You don't want her waking up to you being all messy. No woman likes that." Encouraging further redirection and quite happy when he took it. And looking to Zahara, she promptly giggled then sighed. "Well...maybe this all will give me something to focus on besides stalking Malik in half inappropriate fashion."

"Good enough. just wanting to make sure things were going smoothly. No go on, we both better tend to the ladies before they think we're plotting something in here that your going along with for amusement."
ushering his youngest out the door and looking to Zahara and Piper.
"See, no plotting, nothing of the sort. Zahara, I'd like your medical opinion on my youngest here. he gets chest pains...I used a little necromancy to see why...but I don't know as much as you do in that field to make any judgements."
then to his wife.
"and lets get something to eat, you don't need to be anymore stressed then you are."

Zykariel couldn't abide the stuff but it was amusing to see his youngest brother was no different than him, his father, or Kelligrin. He didn't want to let the kid do too much because if his mother found out, she'd skin him alive. "If Dad says you can. We have to make sure you're all better for school on Monday. So we'll ask him after you eat, okay?" Making himself a fail proof drink for coping with a hangover and sipping at it while his brother ate.
"Of course." She watched Malikhai go, shaking her head as all manner of thoughts popped into her subconscious. But it wasn't her place to say anything and Piper had her boys well in hand. "Has sex become a chore for him yet?" And then Malik was back and telling her things. She frowned, then studied Dhairiss for a long moment. "Chest pains..." Could it be? "Do you remember when you first began to get them, Dhairiss?"

"Dad is having his quiet time." Meaning Sevilin was in his training room at the moment. As far as Kit had been told, that was off limits to him because he was too little to be around all the important things. Tilting his head at his brother as he was scraping the bottom of his bowl. He ate as fast as them but he usually didn't ask for seconds. "My head doesn't feel as watery."
"I think that answer is up for debate, honestly." Which was not a happy thought for her at all, though it did cross her mind these days. No one liked obligatory sex and what not. Not a pleasant thought if such things came to pass. But she turned her attention to the menfolk as they wandered back out to them, giving a light frown at that news...she was in on that already but now Malik was too, and he apparently though she wasn't as he was already trying to curb stress. "But I can't have cinnamon, how is food going to quell the stress if it has no cinnamon?"
"Sometimes the plotting is fun." Hopping off the desk and letting his father usher him along till they were with the women once more. Though he did give a noise. "Daaaaad...I thought we weren't worried about it. It's already gone, it never sticks around." He had never liked being deemed 'sick' whether he was or just suspected to be. Meant he had to sit still and he didn't like to sit still unless he was having a lazy day. A huff and he turned a boyish pout look to Zahara. "I dunno, I don't keep track of that. It doesn't even happen often. Please don't poke at me."
