"They never do." Blinking as her other son showed up in a blip of a second, on the floor for that matter. But Zahara had that under control and Piper pulled him over to press a kiss to his cheek. "But you've taken worse falls, you're fine." And yes a sniff at him, just to see if he had been drinking.
"Mom, I'm the good one. Stop inspecting." Nuzzling at her though a moment before brushing the woman off of him and turning his attention to Zahara again. "Yeah, they're all fine. Zykariel is half drunk but you know, that's normal." Shrugging though, "She seems pretty darn capable to me." Rocking on his heels in that guilty of knowledge way he did.
Taking the paperwork and leaning on the neary wall, it was all a matter of putting provided into to paper in his signature and handing the papers back to his father without another thought to them. Standard papers for the tournament that came every year and anything rarely changed. Usually when they did his father told him anyway just to keep reminding him. "Zahara you might was to talk to Lyssie too. Horrified as she may be, she'll inform you of all I'm sure." Frowning lightly at his father's mention of Kaelin. "Something like that. But a lot of people share certain opinions when it comes to tournament."

Soon as his son handed papers back, malik got that little cat eatting the canary grin, before filing the papers away.
"True enough. Though I wonder if your brother will be attempting anything this year tornament wise. maybe archery or the like. I'll have to ask."
before turning his attention back to sevilin.
"tournamnet should be interesting this year. Ever give any thought to competeing? there's a rumor that my son and I aren't the only two blue elves this year."

"Good luck talking him into competing. He'd probably get bored and wander off two rounds into the thing." For such was the ways of his quirky brother but hey, maybe that was something the kid would actually focus on. "Another Tier'dal and you don't know who it is? That's not like you. Mom distracting you that much?"
Malik was up to more than one thing today it seemed. Then again he was always productive in that underhanded way. "I don't think so. I wouldn't find fun in dumbing my skills down for the general populace to have a chance against me." Raising an eyebrow though at the mention of other tier'dal. "Even if the thought of beating your kind of elf does make me smile."

"I hope my son is as alcohol free as you, Dhairiss." Shaking her head and then frowning at Malikhai's words. Lyssie had been having a rough time here lately and she didn't like it at all. "I hope she's alright." What in the world could have happened to cause something like that to be said? A glance at Sevilin to see if he was finished and ready to head back home.

"Yes I know, he's a strange one....flightly."
a chuckle.
"While she has been very distracting...no. I don't know how it is becuase they've not entered as far as I know. only that they've seen a blue elf that's been eyeing the event rosters and such as if he's considering joining. apparently does every year, this time though he's been loitering alot more. they think he might actually enter this time."
smirking at sevilin.
"Please. the only think they'd forbid you from is your runes. not like you aren't plenty strong enough without them."

He chuckled in that happy way he always did. "We didn't have a drop, either of us. I swear. And Faate is alright, she was already tormenting Kel." Another laugh from hom though, happy as could be.
"Flighty is a good word." Yet it was a cute endearing thing too...he suspected his brother would be like that for a long time. But he crossed his arms lightly. "New meat in competition is always appreciated. Scared off most of the regulars."
"I'd still have to dumb it down for some of them. Young elves and their cocky fighting styles often fall quickly to the more classically trained. Besides," nodding to Zahara, "She may hurt me if I entered and got myself in trouble. There would be no one to clean her house."

That was all Zahara needed to know. As news of what the men were talking about filtered into her ears, she marched over and grabbed Sevilin's hand. "And I'm too much of a slob to let that happen. Don't go putting such ideas into his head, Malik D'vinn. The last thing he needs is to go prancing about competing in tournaments. It's bad enough I let him put my babies in those bloody things." Shaking her head. "Come on, you, we're going home before you two get anymore brilliant ideas that make me shudder at the mere thought."

A chuckle at Zahara.
"come now, just get your brood to clean house."
But a nod anyway.
"did you get caught up with piper, and have any ideas about this situation we're in?"

A tug at Dhairiss. "Go get yourself some dinner then it's to bed with you." Following over to the menfolk and resting a hand on Malikhai's arm, giving him a push too. "You as well, and don't argue with me either. I brougth you into this world and I can take no you right back out." Thusly cuddling up to Malik's side with a giggle she couldn't help. "Unfortunately for you love, it's food messing and potion routes for me."
"My kids clean? Please, that's like asking Zahara not to argue." Besides, he may be more mellow but he still had cleaning standards that no one but him met. He just didn't clean as obessively often. "We at least come and watch as always." Looking to his insistent wife, "And someone is eager to see the first born. Suppose that's mean it's time to leave."

She rolled her eyes and made a noise under her breath even though they all knew it was completely true. "First born, second born, third born... how many kids do we have again?" Chuckling to that and looping an arm through her husband's as she began to tug him off. "I'll work out a list of things to try and bring it to you soon, Piper. In the meantime, lay off the cinnamon...just in case."

That got a grin from malik.
"Piper, lay off cinnamon? are you insane....it one of the few things that clams her down now."
grinning at his wife and placing a kiss on her cheek.
"well you heard the lady. no cinnamon for you for a bit."

Instead of being rooted to the floor like usual, he let her tugging budge him as she pleased this time. "Five." Shaking his head, "And on comes the long nights of ingrediant listing. Fun."
Piper made an instant noise of protest and horror in the form of a pout whine. "But that's not fair...we know it's not the cinnamon." And pouting more as Malik played about it. Though a smirk at him complete with evil smirk with evil giggle. "Oh well, that just means more sex. Pity."

"You've been told and told and told." Each word was followed by a resounding slap to the girl's cheek as her attacker stumbled a little from an overindulgence in wine.
Kaelin kept her eyes tightly closed. "I'm sorry, Mother...it won't happen again."
"Damn right it won't." He reached out and grabbed her hair, yanking her into the kitchen and showed her the sink full of dirty dishes. "Do you think it's right for you to go play while we are stuck doing your chores?"
He didn't give her time to respond, simply picked up one of the dirty utensils from the sink and started hitting her with it.
The serrated edge of a knife flashed. Blows rained down and blood poured. Blow after blow melted together and she no longer cared. She stopped fighting back, stopped pretending like she was sorry and eventually they left her alone.
The next day...
Her eyes opened slowly and she glanced around. It hurt to move but she forced herself to sit up and reached for her linkstone. "Malikhai...I need you..."
Zahara was less than pleased with the events preceding the turmoil that her elder children were going through. No doubt she and Sevilin would be pulled into a meeting with that teacher here very soon. She leaned against the counter and sighed, rubbing at her arms for something to do. "A mother's work is never done..."

Malikhai was out and about the lands that his father had put him in charge of, grooming him for business or whatever the case may be he still enjoyed it. Giving a pat to Jerick as one of the patrols updated him on things before he gave a little click of his tongue and continued on in surveying fashion. His linkstone distracted him though...and her voice disturbed him. It didn't sound right...and considering the number of things that could have gone wrong...well he was not happy.
Thusly it was a detour from his normal things and heading to Vesendar, to that corner spot that they usualy met at...and when she wasn't there, that made him worry more. Trying not to look all weirded out and cause attention to himself, he continued down the streets heading to where he knew Kaelin lived. Dismounting, he didn't bother knocking...he knew from experience that if there was no yelling heard through the walls then there was no worries of them being home or they were passed out somewhere. Worked either way.
Letting himself in a tad cautiously, one hand rested on the hilt of his sword out of protective habit. "Kaelin?" Did not like the smell in here...particularly because he knew it and it was disturbing.
A tug at his mother's skirt, blinking big red eyes up at her as his other arm was holding Nym "Do you need a vacation from being a mommy?" Whatever her sentence meant, he was taking it that way. She could do that right. But a sniff from him at the congestion in his head.

She dropped her head back down, uncertain of what exactly was wrong with her. What felt like an eternity passed and she was still weak and dizzy. She thought she heard her name called and let out a whimper in response. They hadn't come back had they? Her face felt puffy like she'd been struck one too many times. None of her limbs were lying at funny angles but she could smell blood and knew it was coming from her. That knife flashed into her consciousness once more and she saw it's angry tip lying inches from her face. "Malikhai!"
She glanced down at her youngest and gave a smile. "Not just now. Who would take care of you?" Crouching down and gently scratching behind the ferret's ears before kissing Kit's forehead. "I know you don't want soup, but are you hungry, baby?"
