If the hand that was smacked across her mouth hadn’t been enough to quiet her muffled yell, the fact that Sil had done it at all was enough to shock her into silence. Kiah’s eyes started to shift from the older woman to Kyle, baffled by the way she was acting and completely clueless on why she wanted to avoid him. She was forced to follow Sil as she gravitated closer to the wall, bringing her voice down to a whisper once the hand that was covering her mouth was removed, “What the heck is going on?”
The commotion near the infirmary was quick to catch her attention, her neck craning to see what was going on nearby when Sil grabbed her by the hand. The force of her pull was almost enough to send Kiah to the ground face-first, stumbling a bit before righting herself and rushing along behind. “Jeez, Sil! What’s gotten into you?!” she gasped out, keeping pace out of fear of getting her arm pulled out of its socket.

Sil left the question unanswered as she rushed Kiah down the corridor and around the corner to where her quarters were, knowing form experience that delicate topics should never be handled in the hallways. The metaphor of the walls having eyes and ears became a lot more literal when Sil herself had accidentally created a stone guardian whom could easily inhabit any wall she wished when she was bored enough for gossip. Eira was not the best at keeping secrets, especially when she discovered they were meant to be kept, and she was all too fond of Kyle for Sil to put any trust in her. Luckily, part of her conditions as being bound to Sil was that Eira was unable to enter personal rooms as well as restricted areas.
Sil led Kiah into her modestly sized room, no different in size than any other quarters in the Order were for the younger inhabitants. For years, she had tried not to decorate her room while she felt a harrowing lack of permanence, but as years turned into a decade and she became an Exorcist that had changed. Her room was rich and warm in color, bathed in dark reds and browns, a bookshelf filled to the brim, books and papers spilling out along her desk. Around the room were little trinkets given to her by others; the precious indigo Nutcracker box with the precious filigree, silver mermaid trinket box, the inky scarf Kiah had gotten for her carefully draped on the back of her desk chair. A little white cat that had been sitting patiently in the hallway slid his slender body into the room when Sil had opened the door. He seemed disinterested in general, but his heterochromia eyes followed Sil as she locked the door behind them.
"Sorry... I just... Kyle is the source of a considerable amount of stress right now," Sil sighed, offering the chair to the young woman to settle onto while she got her thoughts together. Now that she had Kiah on her own, it was proving increasingly difficult to phrase what she needed to say. "You could say he's exactly what I need to talk to you about... Kyle is uhm... well," she was pacing a little bit, a pained expression touching her features and her muscles tensed for the jump, "he's been blackmailing Lavi and I for nearly six months into doing incredibly stupid things and I've just about had it... I was hoping that if I was upfront with you, that you might be able to... control your dumbass friend a little bit."
She let out a long, audible sigh, her brown eyes finally falling on Kiah with a slightly pleading look within them. "But... I need you to swear that you will never breathe a word of this and that I can trust you, because as innocent as this secret looks on the outside, it's a lot more complicated and serious than it sounds." Her bottom lip slid back, met by teeth in a trepidatious chew. The hesitancy and urgency in her voice grew a little more with each passing moment. "I mean that... lives can be ruined... it's a real mess in pretty wrapping..."
