okay =u= I have some time before archery. Let's go ice skating, then~))
With the drop in temperature the grounds around the castle had become a true winter wonderland, a blanket of snow covering every inch. The freezing temperatures also meant that the small lake nearby had completely frozen over, the layer of ice thick enough for a number of people to stand on it without it breaking underneath their weight. Johnny, in an effort to give his fellow Order members something fun to do in their off-time, had managed to fashion ice skates for everyone. When proudly presented with his own, personal pair by a beaming Johnny, Lavi could hardly refuse the gift even though he had no intention of setting foot on any kind of ice.
Nevertheless, in an effort to fake enthusiasm, he'd gone along to the lake and had even made a show of putting the skates on. On the inside, the skates had been lined with some kind of thick wool, which made them comfortably warm in the chilly air, at least. Lavi had remained on the side of the lake, though, using a large tree trunk as a seat, elbow on his knee and head resting in his hand as he watched the others glide smoothly across the ice.

Johnny's kind gift was enough even to coax Sil out into the winter air as the temperature slowly dipped further beneath her comfort zone. She was known to be the adventurous type, but once the snow had begun to fall she had the tendency to stick close to the rooms with fires and do less adventuring. It was likely a relief to a handful of individuals who were in the wave of affect of her usual shenanigans, but after a while she had started getting stir crazy. The ice skates had given her a joyous excuse to brave the chilly air with the intent of reliving one of her favorite childhood past-times.
Sil bundled up in a warm sweater with mittens and the scarf Kiah had given her for Christmas last year-- her hair was down and loose to help keep her ears warm-- she was not a fan of hats. She joined those gliding along the glassy frozen surface of the lake with a light smile playing on her lips, her cheeks pinkening with the flush of winter air and girlish excitement. While she was no professional, it was clear by her graceful glides that she had experience, though the occasional malformity would cause her to wobble slightly. As she spotted Lavi simply sitting she glided over to where he was and attempted to stop in a way that sprayed ice shavings at him, though the wave was much smaller than she intended and barely hit his skate. "What are you doing? You look like a decoration~ Pretty soon you'll be frozen to that stump until Spring."

Lavi was watching his breath form small clouds as he was debating whether he should start throwing snowballs at passing skaters to amuse himself when Sil skidded to a halt in front of him. He shrugged nonchalantly at her question, straightening his back and crossing his arms across his chest. "I'm just... resting." Not that he'd been doing anything that required any resting. "Besides, it's more fun to watch others. Especially when someone falls." He grinned, though he was sure he'd be one of those people too the moment his skates would touch the slippery ice.

Sil did laugh, since some awful part of her delighted in the fall just as much as the act of skating. Part of her thought it wasn't that awful-- skating was often a couples activity and there was something adorably sweet about being caught by the person whom you skated with, or the fateful moment where they fell right along with you in a mixture embarrassment, pain and most importantly, laughter. "Oh really... See, that's funny," she touched her finger to her chin thoughtfully, faux curiosity, "because I haven't seen you skate at all yet. You can't laugh at everyone else unless you've fallen first, don't you know the rules of skating?"

"That's not a rule..." Lavi snorted, "but don't worry, I won't laugh at you~" A particularly cold breeze wafted by and he burrowed the lower part of his face inside his scarf, voice muffled against the fabric. "Anyway, it's not exactly my favourite activity, so... I'm fine with just watching you guys."

Sil gave him a deadpan look, crossing her arms a little as she managed to c**k her weight to one hip without disrupting her balance on the blades. "You are allergic to fun, aren't you?" Her pink lips peeked out from the top of her scarf, the cool breeze tracing icy fingers down the back of her neck, making her shiver gently as it took the mist of her breath in it's tendrils. As she rubbed her mittens together, she did a slow, smooth little circle backwards, but managed to stay just about in range. "So, what exactly is wrong with skating, then?"

"Hey, I do fun things all the time." Lavi objected with a mock pout, "I had a snowball fight yesterday and then I put some snow down the back of the Panda's jacket and it was totally worth the kick in the head." He laughed a little as he remembered the look on his mentor's face as the cold snow had slowly slid down his back. "He's just such an easy target cause he's so short."
"I dunno..." he shrugged at her question, watching the others on the ice glide by, some relatively smoothly but others wobbling dangerously on their skates. The amount of people he'd seen slip and fall already hardly made him want to get up and try it himself. "I'd rather just... stay on the ground. I mean, how fun can it be, anyway... you're just moving around a patch of ice..." He shrugged again, his choice of words probably already revealing his inexperience with the activity.

"Oh, so you just don't do fun things with me then," she quirked an eyebrow at him, still making her slow methodical circle, though there was a slight smile to hint that she was kidding to some facet. Partially. Sometimes it did feel that way.
"And dancing is just moving around a floor, card playing is throwing pieces of cardboard at each other, reading is flipping pages," she droned, at first the tense of the sentence missed by her counterargument. However, as she often did, she revisited his words while they were still fresh in her mind and her soft brown eyes widened. "You've never skated, have you? No wonder... Get up," she jumped off of the ice onto the shore with a little bunny hop, waddling a bit like a penguin over to him. "Lets go. You are not chickening out of this. Up."

"We do fun things... right?" He lowered his scarf from his face slightly with his index finger, grinning cheekily at her. The grin was easily wiped off his face, though, when she realized the reason behind his aversion to skating. "Well... no," he admitted with a wry smile, "funnily enough it never really was a part of my upbringing..."
He scooted further onto the trunk as she came back onto the shore and came over to him. "No really... I'm fine." He waved his hands in front of him as if trying to avert her. "You just go skate and I'll sit here and it's fine." The last thing he wanted was to look like a complete idiot in front of her. He wasn't one to admit he wasn't good at something, but even people who'd skated a few times before in their lives were flailing around on the ice in front of him.

The eye roll was warranted with that kind of comment, the humor of it clearly not lost on her as she tried to suppress her smile while keeping that stern look. Her stubbornness kicked in, and she grabbed him by both ends of the scarf and pulled at it. "How are you going to learn if you don't try it first?" She chided as she continued to tug. Though she said nothing of it out loud, since Lavi didn't know how to skate that gave her a perfect excuse to be able to touch him in public. As tiny of a gesture it was, when it came to any form of affection she was a little starved for it, and she simply was not willing to give up this opportunity. "I will resort to threats. I can strangle you if I try hard enough. With that mouth of yours no one would be surprised. Hell, Bookman might even thank me."
