He wasn't helping. "She knows more than you or I do about Norrathian poisons so I figured since you weren't smart enough to keep the blade or analyze the poison, we'd go with the next best thing." Handing over the two vials to his mother and nodding to her. "You need to take them."
"Zykariel!" It came out far weaker than it would have otherwise but she still slapped at his leg which was about as far up as she could reach. He knew better and now was not the time to push his father. "Did you ask any questions? Find out how much I need? What the side effects are?"
His jaw clenched and he stepped back. "No, I didn't. I didn't think of that...just wanted to get them and leave." And now his mother was going to be disappointed in him, too.
She closed her eyes for a moment and shook her head. "Kariel..." Trailing off as another spasm racked her body. It was getting worse... "I suppose I don't have much choice. I'll take one and see what happens." Uncapping the vial, she pushed herself up against her husband and dipped her finger into the liquid, giving it a cursory taste-test. Deeming it legitimate, she tipped the vial back and let the foul tasting potion filter into her system. "Don't ever go back."

A growl almost escaped his throat but he clenched his jaw to keep it down. Boy was so lucky his mother was ill at the moment or he'd be up against a wall and hurting from his arm being twisted from it's socket as he yelled sense into the boy's ears. Now it was not a happy thing for him to be imagining hurting his children but Zykariel was pushing every button he could and Sevilin was reaching his limit. Thusly he stayed quiet and merely turned his head away from looking at the boy, and dropped an arm around his wife's shoulders to keep her upright as she used her own judgement. Yup, Sevilin had decided to break out the Silence.

Cerrillia was drumming her fingers, trying to think of a way to salvage this situation. Obviously Zykariel considered his mother's condition a break in thier deal. but she couldn't have that. she needed to learn this new technique of mana control. but now she saw a big drawback to that methodology.
"the only way I can see to fix this will be to get the boy. but we can't go get him...we'll have to get him back here somehow."

"Go. If you're going to be like that I don't want you around me." She'd decided to only take the one vial and see if that worked or if the other one might be needed as well. If this woman had simply re-poisoned her, Zahara swore she'd get Malik to use his necromantic skill to bring her back so she could personally cause this woman hell. She already wanted to strangle her for ruining her son's first sexual experience and something sacred through that. "Sevilin...check on the baby. I don't have the energy, but be careful. Please."
He certainly didn't have to be told twice. Snapping around, he stalked off to go brood elsewhere in the house. Stupid parents who had no idea what they were even talking about. It royally pissed him off.

Seemed Zahara had had enough of it as well. A sigh and he waited for his son to indeed leave before he moved. Looking back to his wife he got up but kept hold of her, letting her slowly lay back on the bed and brushing her hair away from her face some. He probably would have snapped on the boy already if she wasn't around tugging at his shirt tail and reminding him to be patient. Even if his patience was thin. Resting a hand on her stomach a moment he barely traced runs, feeling things out...and it didn't look good. Sure...weakness could be overcome, but he wasn't sure this time. Not that he was going to tell her that...or let it into his eyes. Swallowing he let his runics end. "You both just need to recover."

She spent the most agonizing ten minutes of her life while he used his runes to discover things. She could feel the poison in her body react to Sevilin's power and prayed he'd hurry up and that the antidote would work. Opening her eyes slowly as he finished, she studied him then gave a tentative smile. Her baby was still alive! It was the best news Zahara could have received and she snuggled down closer in the bed, clutching his hand. "Rest is good." Her body was tugging her into reverie, decreased energy levels exhausting her mentally. "I love you."

That smile said a lot but he kept himself quiet...after all, who knew what was going to happen in the next twenty-four hours. Being a pessimist was a blessing sometimes...you couldn't be dissapointed, merely pleasantly surprised from time to time. He was hoping for the latter this time. A squeeze back at her hand. "Love you too...you just rest. I need to go check on the rest of the house and everything. I'll bring you back something later to eat. Don't get up." Pressing a kiss to her forehead and tucking her into bed before leaving the room. A look to Keely and the surface girl before he walked off down the hallway, rubbing at the back of his neck where stress was gathering. This couldn't all be happening.

As if she actually could. No, there wouldn't be any moving for her for a long time. She had energy to restore and healing to do. Hopefully, Sevilin would take care of the rest of the staff who might still need to be healed since she no longer could.
He was pacing angrily, still really pissed off and unsure of what to do now. He had two more vials that he'd forgotten to give his mother so when he heard his father moving about in the other room, he stepped out from the shadows. "How is she?"

He stopped and looked to his son, eye glazing over cold to him. "Your mother is going to be fine. Dont' worry about it anymore." Crossing his arms and rubbing at them in a self comforting gesture. Yes, Zahara would be fine...the baby? Questionable.

He frowned at that response and very nearly snarled right back. Fine, he wanted to be like that. Pulling out the blue vials, he shook them to call attention to them. "So, her potion worked. I'll bet you are glad I went and got them now. She gave me these, too. But I guess you don't want her to have them." It annoyed him the way his father was acting and treating him. He'd saved her life, dammit.

Eyes moved to the noise made by the vials. They boy was pushing and he dropped his arms, moving a few steps closer to the boy. "Then go give them to her if she's supposed to have them." So very very close...

He gave his father a look like 'what, are you stupid?' Shaking his head and rolling his eyes. "She doesn't want me near her, remember? Which is probably because of you." Holding out the vials once more. "So I guess you're going to have to go give them to her instead if you want her to have them." He didn't recognize the dangerous look in his father's eyes nor the slow way he was moving or what it implied, either.

And in true fashion, the last of the items came through, the braziers, which were taken and duly placed outside in the new atrium/greenhouse and setup to the specifications that were required. of course, to make sure, you have to test it.
Which meant a lot of cursing and yelling when it, unfortunately for the ones testing it, worked like it was supposed to, giving the area daylight conditions.

The light and such was something he should have been aware of and checking out now, but in the back of his head he knew what it was or assumed and his vision had tunneled to the young elf in front of him. Ungrateful child that he was indeed being and backing it all up with a foul attitude. Another few steps closer, hand closing into a fist at his side and muscles tensing. One hand reached out and snatched the vials, putting them in his belt and he stalked another step forward. "Foolishness at the cost of your mother's health...something I thought you wouldn't do."

Belated warning bells gave the slightest ping but, like usual, cocky Zykariel ignored them. Huffing, he crossed his arms but refused to take a step back. "For your information," he intoned snarkily, "I made Cerrillia promise not to harm my mother or my family. The deal I made was to save you. It's not my fault that jerkoff learned stuff and managed to hurt her. It's your job to protect her."
