((The high schools and elementary schools decided to add extra days off this year. They start 3 days earlier but get a 2 day fall break and an extra day for thanksgiving. And they decided to do this the year after I graduate high school -_-. I think they put the day off before thanksgiving because a lot of kids miss the day before thanksgiving anyways to go wherever they are going with their family for thanksgiving.))

Kamelot: LOL Wow... you missed out on that deal! XD In my case, after I graduated I heard the school was going downhill... and still is. So I am perfectly fine with missing out on a day off. =u=d ))

((Yeah I still have a bunch of friends in high school and they say the school got worse this year. One of my friends told me there were 4 fights in only the first month of school. The band teacher quit because they were only paying him part-time so they had to find another one. And I don't know how many more changes there were))

Kamelot: Oh geez... that sounds like Senior year to me... XD I basically didn't look back after I graduated, but when you have three close family members still attending the school, it's hard not to hear about it. ))

((Lol I'm happy I graduated before the school system got too bad but I wish I could go back because back in high school I was happy. I was surrounded by my friends but now I'm not and I've been getting depressed more often sad ))

"Advice from cards, eh...? Maybe one day I can graduate from eenie meenie minie mo and use these to help make decisions instead," she laughed, closing her eyes as instructed and hovering her hand over the cards. "I will admit, they do seem like more fun, from what I've seen..." Kiah's hand continued to go back and forth over the cards until she finally pulled one towards herself. She didn't exactly feel any special attachment to the card she chose like some people have claimed, but it did seem... different than the others. It didn't take long before two more were placed in front of her, and she slowly peeked one eye open to look at Sil. "Is that all I have to do?"

Sil sipped her coffee slowly, savoring the bitter flavor on her tongue as a delicacy. She licked her lips before responding with a small nod, not realizing Kiah had her eyes closed as she chose her cards. "Yep, choose your cards and have... an open mind," she wiggled her fingers mystically, sliding the rest of the cards off of the table now that Kiah had made her selections.
"Alright, so... This first card to your left here is representative of your past," Sil slipped a long nail beneath it, flipping it over from its side to maintain the direction so that the picture card would be facing forward. As it turned, it revealed an elderly man holding a staff with a lantern light upon it-- the light was bright, but the rest of the card was grey while the man looked upon it dejected. The image, for Kiah, was upside down. "The Hermit... reverse," Sil said softly, the card meanings having become second nature since she had started playing with them. "He represents a search for truth, and a need for balance within justice. However, when the card is flipped it represents a time in your past where someone close to you concealed something dark from you, disguising the truth heavily. Furthermore, a time of fear and development of unreasoned caution-- paranoia over the concealment."

(( I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU, I FEEL ABANDONED, THIS IS WHY I HAVE TRUST ISSUES- okay, I'm over it. c: ))
"Haha, I think you're overdoing it...," Kiah commented with a grin, thanking Jerry as he handed her a steaming mug of hot chocolate. She proceeded to blow on it until it cooled off enough to drink while she waited for Sil to start.
Leaning over to examine the card more closely, she frowned at the appearance of it, though she had no clue what to make of it. The fact that it represented her past had her curious at how accurate it would be, and anxious at the same time. Finally determining that her hot chocolate wouldn't burn her tongue, she took a sip, listening to the meaning of the card. She froze once it started to make more sense to her, eyebrows furrowed as she lowered her mug slowly. "... Hmmm... you're right... these are more interesting than the average deck of cards...," she stated slowly, not revealing how accurate the first card really was. "What's next?"

"No, I'm not even close to overdoing it. For some of the others I broke out Madame Silvia and gave them a show. I'm sure there's a gypsy community out there somewhere ready to kill me," she smiled, not contemplating the cards very deeply. Some of the readings could be dark, tell of bad news, torrid pasts, and if they were true Sil honestly felt she was better off not knowing. Kiah seemed unimpressed, so she simply moved on with the reading and moved to the middle card. Similarly, she flipped this card in the same motion and revealed the face of it to the owner. "Alright, this card represents your present~"
The card revealed was facing the correct direction towards Kiah, with a young man in the understated clothing of a medieval serf. He hunched over his task, carrying a bundle of ten staves, and though his face could not be seen in the image his posture was slumped. "This is the Ten of Wands, which... in this case likely signifies a feeling of oppression. Something in your life is weighing you down and making you feel powerless, and just as the man is weighed down by the weight of his staves, this feeling is heavy upon you."

"That's very true... I'm sure that whole gypsy act would be great at parties, though!" Kiah nodded, smiling along with her. Thankful that they were moving on, she looked down at the card and saw yet another depressing scene featured on it.
She was surprised to find that this one seemed to hit the nail on the head as well, but all she did was sigh a little before giving the older woman an wry smile. "These aren't turning out to be very happy cards, are they?" Though there were many things that could be attributed to the meaning of the card, it was probably obvious to many why she felt powerless in a war that she couldn't fight in.

Sil grimaced a little, "Sometimes they're not, but if you take any stake in them at all I'd see it as just a sketch of a part of your life. It's general, and perhaps there were other stronger, happier things that were simply overshadowed by a negative aspect. Not sure if that makes any sense at all..." It was always a little uncomfortable when cards seem to come up with negative after negative, but even as far as negatives went the cards could be far, far crueler in their meanings. Instead of dwelling, she held her breath and hoped that the next card would be more pleasant than the others. "This one is your future, which is always changing based on your actions, but I also think this card is the most fun as long as you don't turn it over and see something horrible."
With that, she flicked the card to reveal the last of the three-- it was face up for Kiah as well. The image depicted was of a woman with her eyes covered by a viel. She sat with her posture erect on a bench with an ocean behind her, crossing two large swords clutched in both of her hands. "This card is the Two of Swords, a unique card of the suit. This card represents a sense of camraderie and the building of relationships and intimacy through conformity, like a soldier who found solace in the ranks of the army. The blindfold represents faith and following. The perfect balance of the swords indicates a future with harmony, but as swords rarely represent benevolence, it is likely that attaining this future will not come without a struggle."

"No, I think it makes perfect sense, actually... even if they're even close to correct, it's not as if they define that part of our life. Not that they probably do that to begin with, but..," Kiah smirked a little and took another sip of her hot chocolate, hoping to see something better on the next flip. "Let's cross our fingers, then..."
The card she examined last seemed to be a bit more promising than the other two had been, and she waited patiently for Sil to finish up. The meaning was nearly ten times more reassuring than the other two had been, and Kiah smiled happily in response. "That one definitely beats out the other two, I'll tell you that much... the only bad thing about it is the struggle, but I think that goes without saying when it comes to life in general...," she commented, shrugging a little. "Thank you very much, Madame Silvia~."
