[quote="Anonymooo"people thinking that you actually fight by holding a sword in reverse grip Knives. You knife fight with reverse grip, not swords. At best you'd want to have like a short blade or something.

ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHERS Japanese weapons pertains pretty much exclusively to kunai and katanas. Backflips would be On Notice if I had more room.

You aren't looking hard enough, Fenrir. It's like finding the jelly beans you actually want in a bag full of ones you could care less about. xd
And knives are versatile enough to use in standard or reverse-grip, Jello, which is why they're so damn good. I personally prefer the use of them in standard grip so they have better range and overall technique, since all you really need to do is flick it against somebody's limb a few times REALLY fast to start off.

If my character uses knives as a signature weapon, he's going to have two, not one. And one is going to be reverse grip because having two separate swing motions is more versatile.

Switch-gripping knives certainly works, but I'm of the persuasion that likes having a hand free to grab other people's weapon arms. xd

Knives = win. Gamma supposedly does eskrima knife fighting, but somehow I've gotten sidetracked into beating people to death with his hands. Behold! I can show my distaste for things through the power of png.

But that's basic Kali there. Guy on the right just got disarmed and is attached by the wrist to some guy interested in stabbing him.

I would personally find it very weird to do a kotegaeshi/kata-ikkyo-style wrist turnout with a reverse-gripped knife. Besides, by hanging on to the knife hand, you can lead him around by joint pressure and stab him as many times as you like/need.

You should give Tommy v1.32489 a knife and tape his wrist to someone else's wrist, who also has a knife.
Then see what happens.
