the staff looked around at eachother, no one really wanted to say anything. The Mask had a reputation for finding out who exposes them and delaing with it...so, the tier'dal servants pushed out one of the human servants. after all, thier lives were much more finite anyway.

"Um, well. the tattoo's mark him as a member of the Ebon Mask. Neriak's assassin's guild. they carry out all the unsavory things. assassinations, information gathering, spying, subversion...anything and everything that weakens the physical and morale resistances of an enemy."

fiddling with his hands.

"They work for the assassin guild leader...no one knows his name, and he works for whomever he wants to in Neriak. usually one of the Royals. It's been rumored they take outside contracts, but no one has been able to prove anything. usually even a whisper of the mask is enough to make people silent."

Gizdean smirked lightly. obviously the tier'dal had fed that human the information he was spouting. but he remained quiet. He wasn't about to tell anyone in this lowly house a thing about himself or the Mask.

"Cowards! All of you. You all can join your new friend in the breaker rooms if you're going to be so cowardly as to more or less fall to traitorism. I do hope you enjoy yourselves. Broog, would you attend to that please. And don't leave our special friend alone. I'd rather an eye be kept on him at all times."

Obviously his father was upset. He was suddenly jerked and he let out a noise. "I know how to get information." Three rapid blinks followed that pronouncement and his eyes narrowed. Cerrillia had promised his family was not involved. "I didn't say I had all the answers! But I know more than you do. It was important!"

She urged the horse on, keeping Kelligrin settled against her, glancing around to make sure that there was nothing around. She made it to Twilight without any interruptions, stabled Trissarem and carried her son inside, only to find that her husband had become quite the tyrant. Shifting Kelligrin on her hip, she quirked an eyebrow at the scene before, silently waiting.

"Important?! Do you have any idea what you've done?!" This was no normal situation here, thus perhaps why his reaction to it all was so volatile. Granted he didn't like feeling thsi angry but there was a certain lack of control. Another jerk to stumble to boy to his mother, only then letting. "Stay with your mother and out of the way. And do not leave. If I even hear a whisper, have a thought that you are gone..." Of course he didn't know how to finish that sentence but his tone probably said it wouldn't be pleasant.

Broog got to work alright, and was sending people and ogres below to places that no one ever wanted to be sent to, before broog came back with Gizdean in tow. wasn't letting him out of his sight as promised.

Gizdean remained silent, but the scowl on his face at Cerrillia's name showed easy enough. great. he was going to go running to her wasn't he. like he wasn't in a bad enough situation as is.

And as if on cue for that, Cerrillia's voice came on the linkstone.

"Gizdean! You arrogant overbearing son of a whore! you better pray you don't get out of there alive cause if you do I'm killing you myself!"

Of course, she was figuring he'd be in a holding cell right now, not sitting in the open surrounded by people.

What in the hell? His father was mad at him? For what? Zykariel hadn't given up anything they wouldn't already know through some other means anyway. "I protected what needed to be protected!" He shot back just before he was shoved over to his mother who appeared to be okay as did his little brother. Taking the toddler from her, he propped the kid up in his arms and gave her a break. Normally his father would have been worried. Not today. "The hell's his problem?"

It was fairly shocking to see her son act that oblivious. "I think you already know, Kariel." Shaking her head and continuing to observe the unfolding scene. "We had an intruder at the house. That one. He wants part of your father for some reason. We told him no and decided he'd be better off down here." Turning, "You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"

He was absolute law right now damn it and things were going to go how he wanted, people were going to tell him what he wanted to know and if they didn't they were going to pay for his pent up anger that he couldn't take out on anyone. Ears twitched acutely at that voice and it was easy enough to snatch that stone. "So sorry woman, but I think I may want that pleasure myself. I suppose that means that his prayers may indeed be answered. Mark my words, I'll find you too, especially if you've been around my son." Shooting a look to his son. "Did you or do you merely think you did." He wasn't yelling there but there was certinaly venom to his voice and a look to blood red eyes that wasn't pleasant. The funny thing was, this was the easy part...the hard part would be when it came to informing Malik.

"You must be Sevilin Inthara. There's no need to find us. Your son is helping me with something. I was unaware of Gizdean's actions, so you can do whatever the hell you want with him."

Okay how to defuse this situation.

"The information we requested of your son was nothing of a military nature. At least for my part. Gizdean had his own commands from the Mask, that I am not privy to. Our Queen had interest in how a lower house was able to forge an empire."

A frown on her face.

"If you wish, I would welcome you to come with your son. we have a meeting later I believe. You'll see that we mean no harm to you and yours."

That was damning enough without his answer and Zahara shook her head and lightly restrained her son. "Stay away from your father." Things were not going to end well by any means. Reaching back over, she took teh squirming toddler from his brother and settled him back on her hip, nuzzling him in an attempt to calm him down. He wasn't reacting well to the bond feelings.

Zykariel gave his mother a glare and turned back to his father and the linkstone he was holding. "I did, dammit! I didn't tell them anything that they couldn't have found out for themselves. I know what I'm doing." Muttering some choice words under his breath and then crossing his arms in disgust. "The deal's off, Cerrillia. You promised you wouldn't harm my family."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 06, 2008 12:10 pm

Cerrilia cursed under her breath. damn that man.

"I was as much aware of what he was doing as you were. Had I known what he was up to I would have stopped him. I'm not about to ruin a greatly beneficial deal over some stupid bravado from a member of the Mask. and if I wanted to harm your family, Zykariel, I could have just harmed you. I haven't done anything of the like, now have I."

Gizdean remained quiet, but the look on his face was one of a smug pride, and a dark hatred.

She even knew his name? And he was rarely out in public. "Just because he acted against your plan means nothing to me. You are still part of the same ring of people and you can all pay the same prices as far as I am concerned. You should be asking nothing of my son, of anyone. Military or not. Especially if this one with his own commands does indeed do what he has done now. Ignorance is no excuse on your part." The meeting part through him off a bit admittedly...he didn't know whether to be angry, opportunistic or something else. A hand was merely held up to his son's protests...assassins didn't travel with just anyone, meaning this woman and anyone with her was of some substantial training in some area. Which meant threat and the woman on the other end of the stone just confirmed that. Even if she hadn't hurt the boy, the statement said that she would be ready to the moment she needed to do so. "Start praying to whatever Gods you look too." Clutching his hand around the stone and flash of light later it was dust in his hand that was casually knocked off with the other and he turned his sights on his son. "You will tell me what exactly you said to her, whom else is with her, and where the hell she is. Now."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 06, 2008 7:37 pm

Cerrilia noticed the stone go dead. damn it. So she gathered up Lianna and Valten.

"Gizdean's actions have put us in a bad situation. we're defendable, but we don't know entirely what the elder Inthara can do. his magics may give him a great deal of insight into how to find us. So we need to contact Neriak for potential reinforcement. but only potential. I'd prefer to not have a full conflict if it can be helped."

Lianna nodded lightly.

"I agree. a conflict here and now would rise the people of this town against us as well. we can't afford that kind of conflict. even between my own and your spells. I'll contact the Spurned and the Lodge. we'll leave the brotherhood and the mask out of this. both of those guilds are far to trigger happy for what your suggesting."

Valten nodded some.

"I have this building as fortified as I can make it without alerting this city that we're expecting an attack. and I'll defend you both with my last breath. I'll need your assistance to get audience with Malik D'vinn"

He wasn't happy at all, now was he? "It doesn't matter." And that was pretty much all he was going to get to say to Cerrillia, too. His father was exactly right in that she was linked with Gizdean and he had tried to hurt Zykariel's family. Since that was part of the deal, his part was off. He frowned at that demanding tone and shook his head. "I didn't tell her anything, really. I don't know who all she has in her party though I sensed the powerful presence of at least three more aside from him." Nodding to Gizdean and then kicking him in the chest. "She gave me this address but I doubt she's there now and, if she is, they've fortified the place. It'd be best not to provoke them anymore."

He probably visibly bristled at his sons more or less refusal to offer the more desired information and was promptly back to ignoring him. Did he not understand how badly this could go? Malik was hellbent against things from his own plane, or so it seemed sometiems. And any assassin comign here probably wouldn't be appreciated. Eyes slid to his wife, more or less saying 'do something with your son or I may feel the urge to and it won't be good for anyone'. "We're staying here." Reaching into his pocket and handing his wife a key. "To the room we usually stay in while we're here."

Stuffing her face with the most wounderful food she had ever tasted Giedia took in Keelys' appearence in the lights of the candles. Noting to herself as she cramed a piece of bread in her mouth that Keely didn't look like a elf but a human. "I wonder why she is here in the underdark?" Afrad to oiver step her boundries Giedia kept that thought to herself. To Keely she asked, "Why is everyone around here so mean here?"
