A light frown. "The horse theives brought that on themselves...and if you're going to bring that up you have to admit that Malikhai had part in that." No one liked to think about the boy's first taste of killing, not even the boy himself. Besides, horse thieves led to 'Nells and no one wanted to talk about that either.

But a little sigh. "I believe his sword and Malikhai's sword can both do the exact same things in the way of magics. Save Malik's can learn new ones and it also requires blood. I can't tell you specifics but just that it is something he only wants to face the people who displease him or try to bring ill things upon his family, House and those under his House."

Tilting her head. "Theorhetically though, since you're curious, yes I suppose you're right that he could be as such. But as I've been assured in my own wonderings on such things, Malik has mastered the blade and it does not control him like it used to when he was younger." Nodding though, "Some are jaded...you can't please everyone Zykariel."

Finishing off her tea she set her cup down. "Are you sure this is just about rumors, Kariel?"

"Malik has his eyes on the shcool, I assure you that Malikhai, nor you and your sisters for that matter, are in any danger while you all are there." It would kill Malik if anything happened to his firstborn, she knew that much. Granted the same went for his younger son and his wife as well, but she understood the importance of a first child to a couple. And to Malik, family was everying. "Revenge, yes I suppose. Sometimes just in intimidation. He tries not to actually use it unless it's needed." Or so that's what she saw and was told. "Well, it's important to investigate things such as thus. As you said, I'm sure your father will handle it."

"Mm, no. I haven't heard from them recently. I did get a letter from Kieran though. Which is always nice, he always has such interesting things to say. But apparently the plan was when things get settled they'd be home. I'm sure they won't be too much longer. Malik doesn't like staying away too long. Missing your sisters and such?"

"Use a napkin." Shrugging lightly with a grin then, "I know what you mean. I'm enjoying my free time but I miss looking after Dhairiss and what not. There's always something exciting going on when they're home, I know that much. Are you feeling better about this all then?"

"No problem. Though I don't know why I'm so nice to you with the way you've been neglecting me. I'm sorry Zykariel but I have to say it's over. You're just too popular for me to compete and I've found someone new." Playing with the boy to lift his spirits some. Seemed he needed it.

She giggled, glad to see he was quick to jump into play. "Oh if you must know, his name is James. Though I beg thee dear love spare him. You and I never could be, I'm but a human and you so noble an elf. I would hate to weight your heart down with hurt when I cannot be with you as long as you may wish. Besides, I can never turn your head like the wiles of racing and adventure can. Even now you speak of things of whimsy and he has asked for my hand." Play but there was truth to it too.

"No magic, dear Zykariel." Reaching and petting at his hair lightly, stifling her own giggles at all the mock play. "Grand you may be, but you need grand things for grand tastes. Something I have never been." Taking his face in her hands and tilting his head up to look at her. "I seek not to break thine heart, sir elf. We simply walk different paths...though should ours ever cross again, I know I can always come back into your arms."
