Lavi wasn't entirely convinced, flash backing to those years ago when their home had been infiltrated once before because people had trusted the invader, because they had known him, or the skin he had been wearing at least, and hadn't known anything was wrong until he had started killing people. It wasn't a memory he particularly liked having, so he tried to block out the images as he focused on what she was saying. "Xing and Amestris...?" he didn't need to think long on that, shaking his head, "Never heard of them. Definitely not countries. Did she mean something else and made a mistake on the terminology?" He frowned slightly, immediately answering his own question: "Still, if they're well-known places I should have heard of them... wasn't she just making it up?" It was starting to sound more suspicious by the minute.

"I didn't think you would have heard of them...she insisted that they were countries, and very well-known. I thought she might be making it up too, or that she has some amnesia or...something. But she seems very certain about where she came from. And...she said she came through 'The Gate'...she drew it for me and the way she describes it..it's nothing like anything I've seen. The closest thing I could think of was the Ark," Liv fished the drawing out from nowhere and unfolded the napkin, handing it to Lavi. She had been carrying it around with her to show people when she finally got the chance, and so she didn't end up misplacing it.
"I asked her many questions about these countries she claims to be from...and she started talking about alchemy of all things, saying that there are people who can...create things using alchemy, and...I mean that was just a theory from a long time go. But she said there are these alchemists who work for the Military and they fight for them when the time comes...it was all very interesting, and....the way she talked, even though she couldn't remember everything and she's just a girl. I mean...there's no way she could have just made all of this up...there's too much detail..." She leaned in and looked at the drawing again herself, pointing at it, "I mean...look at that, the detail, there's just...I don't know, Lavi. It's very concerning, and I've been keeping an eye on her and I told her I wanted her to see some people. I'm going to take her to Komui and to see Mishka...maybe he can diagnose some kind of head injury and confirm that she did make it up afterall."

Lavi took the napkin from her, studying the drawing made on it. "I've never seen this either... As for alchemy...," he frowned, "I'm not quite sure what she means by create things, but if she's referring to their delusions on creating gold and elixirs of life and whatnot, no alchemist has actually been successful in that, as far as I know." He shrugged, handing the napkin back to her. "It all just sounds like a very lively imagination to me, to be honest..."

She said she's a beginner alchemist herself, and I asked her to show me..but something went wrong and she couldn't," she gave Lavi a little look and a shrug as if to show that didn't surprise her, and it could be a sign that the girl did make everything up. "I don't know, but...I'm going to take her to see Komui and Mishka..and if you wanted to talk to her..it's really interesting what she has to say, really..."

"What, in the middle of the party, without any equipment or anything? What did she expect she could show you?" Lavi quirked an eyebrow, thinking she at least needed some lab equipment to do any kind of alchemy. "You should, she can't just be walking around here." He leaned forward to grab his cupcake again. "And it's really only interesting if it's true."

Liv frowned, "I don't know...she drew this weird circle on the table and then touched her hands to it and...expected for something to happen, though I don't know what she expected. Don't worry, I'm going to keep her under my wing until we figure all of this out. And I wouldn't say that...that's like saying novels aren't interesting because they're fantasy..," she pursed her lips and crossed her arms again.

"Hmm...," Lavi mused, chewing on a bite of cupcake, "I'm not an expert on alchemy, but I think expecting something to happen by drawing a circle might be even crazier than what most of them claim they can do." He shrugged, finishing up the cupcake. "I don't really read novels."
