Pausing a moment to use the back of her hands to scratch an itchy spot on her brow, she froze at the sound of his voice and took her sweet time setting the rag back in the bucket. Turning around, she laughed. "Yes, but you weren't here to do it and it was driving me crazy. You must be rubbing off on me." Getting up and brushing off her knees then walking over and giving him a kiss. "I'm glad you're home, Raven. We all missed you."
Evidenced by the running toddler who slipped and fell into his father's knees because of the slick stone. "Daddy!"

"Mess has never driven you crazy before, but I suppose it's not a bad trait to catch." Nodding lighlty to her greeting before his attention moved down to the whack against his lower legs and he tilted his head at the little elf. "You shouldn't run on clean floors, you know better." Reaching down to ruffle the child's hair some as he clung. "You can stop if you want. I'll get a shower and then finish for you."

"That's alright. I'm actually kind of enjoying it." She was blaming the puffiness for that one. It was all it's fault. Though she didn't mean that quite like that either... Being an expectant mom was kind of hard. Dropping back down, she removed the rag from the bucket and began scrubbing once again. "Did you eat yet?"
Pick me up gesture along with hops up and sounds meant to attract attention. No, really. Where's my hug? "Daddy, you went bye bye. Bad."

He merely tilted his head, continuing to watch as she went about being unusual. Though he did pick up the toddler that was very insistant that he get his attention, despite the fact that Sevilin was indeed quite filthy. "No, I'm not hungry." Thusly turning a look to the little elf who was chastising him. "If you say so Kelligrin. Why don't you help mommy?"

She paused in her scrubbing, wondering if she should glance back at him. He wasn't hungry? What had he been eating? They weren't going back to his previous eating habits, were they? "Oh...well, I was just about to make lunch so if you change your mind..." Trailing off and then going back to scrubbing once more. He wasn't very enthusiastic to be home, was he?
"Kelli does. Daddy bad." His red eyes widened and he giggled. "Mommy said no 'cause Kelli ate soap."

"Because you ate soap..." Blinking at the child who was obviously amused by what he had done. He could picture the child doing so and blowing bubbled for ten minutes. "Right, daddy bad." One son hated him, why not have the other angry at him, sounded like more divine punishment for sure. Walking over to the play pen still nestled in the corner of the kitchen he set the child down so he wouldn't do any slipping and turned a look to his wife. "I'm going to go get cleaned up, maybe I'll be hungry by then. You know how I am." Thusly heading upstairs for him to get himself clean. It took all his effort not to peek into Zykariel's room on the way past.

She lifted a hand to say something but let it drop back down as he turned on his heel and left before she could get a word out. Yes, she did know how he was and that was what terrified her the most. Over the past month or two she'd seen a change in him, one for the better. He was a better husband, a more attentive lover and friend and she didn't want to see that disappear. She suddenly felt the desire to just sit there and cry.
Picking up her youngest, she cuddled him closely in her arms and buried her head in his hair, inhaling his little boy scent. Dirt, soap and cookies. All her sons seemed to smell that way. Her son sensed something was wrong and simply laid his head down on her shoulder, wrapping his arms around her neck. She needed to make lunch...
Putting him back in the playpen and making a platter of sandwiches, she pushed her feelings aside and set them on the table. Nadai would be walking in shortly and perhaps Sevilin would come down and eat as well. She just wasn't hungry.

Felt good to get all the dirt and grime off from trouncing around the underdark without real destination. Cleaned, dried, and redressed in casual fashion that was probably even surprising for him - chainmail being left back in his room - he started down the hall but stopped at Zykariel's door. He couldn't help himself. Peeking in, he noted the boy sitting by his window, slumped in passed out fashion. Sighing he wandered in and picked the boy up, placing him in his bed...but he didn't tuck him in or anything else, it probably wouldn't be appreciated.
Heading back out the boy's room he pulled the door shut and headed back downstairs to his wife and current unborn youngest. She didn't look happy either it seemed. Walking over her laced an arm around her waist and pulled her close to him, just holding her for a moment. Was his world still falling down around him or could he believe her that Nadai was indeed nothing more than a friend? Ears twitched at the sound of boots on the floor and he tightened his hold on his wife as Nadai wandered into the kitchen.
He was respectfully quiet in a sense today as he came into the house and washed up for the second time in the kitchen sink, giving a look to the two before he sat quietly at the table in the middle of the room. This was going to be highly awkward he was sure. But he'd try to make the best of it.

He stirred only slightly when he was moved, his tired mind keeping him bogged down in reverie though he knew who it was and his entire countenance relaxed after being moved. Were he closer to full mental capacity, he actually would have woken up and probably been quite overjoyed.
She was rather surprised, but very pleased, when she was tugged against his side and willingly rested her head against his chest. Perhaps this was a very good sign? He did nothing more than hold her though she felt the telltale tightening of his grip when the door opened and Nadai's face appeared at the table. Was that the problem? She recalled his mention of Nadai earlier and began to slowly put a few pieces of the puzzle together. Maybe that accounted for his strange behavior and his sudden disappearance... "You should eat, Sevilin."

Nuzzling at her hair lightly he let her go and wandered over to the playpen once more and picked up Kelligrin, moving back to the table and setting the baby in his highchair, handing his sandwich whole, mostly just to see what the child would do with it. Sitting in his own seat at the head of the table he plopped two on his own plate. Though a look was passed to the seat his older son usually sat at. But his eyes were drawn back to the table near him as one freshly clean ferret chittered happily at him and duly begged for some sandwich. "Did you have a bath?"
Yup this was going to be weird, but he merely contented himself with getting some lunch and digging into it. Hey he was hungry and just because it was quiet didn't mean he wasn't going to eat. Though there were other questions...like was he staying again tonight now that her usual live in child manager and general help was back? "Finished everything early today."

Vesendar...none of the four were overly impressed. in fact, they were cloaked in shadows and illusions to make themselves unnoticable. even thier footsteps were silent. they watched, they waited, while Gizdean 'procured room and board' probably by threatening to or actually assassinating the former residents.
Once in thier new base of operations, which was duly given the proper defensive measures by the wizardess and enchantress, while thier shadowknight companion went about setting up their religious needs with an altar and sacraficial table.
"Once were established, we'll start with interrogations. I'll leave that to you, Cerrilia."
the enchantress nodded, and decided to set about getting one room ready for such activities.

She would have gladly stayed there in his arms all through lunch and not cared one bit about who said or thought what. Watching her husband's movements--his actions always said far more than his words did-- she noted a few things that might require further investigation then took her own seat at the table. "He did and a bit of a swim, too." Nadai was given a pleased smile. "Wonderful. You've been working much harder than you should these past few days, Nadai. Why don't you take the rest of the afternoon off and indulge in some fun. Take Jin out for a run or something. Zykariel probably won't be in any mood to train anyhow."
He stared at the food as it was given to him, poking his finger in the soft squishy bread then plucking out a fistful of bread and meat together and eating it that way. Though he made fussy noises and spit out a piece of crust.

Reaching over he scratched at the ferret's fur, more or less squishing him to the table with the action but there were nothing but happies noises from Nym whom chittered and purred and even managed to roll himself over to get some of that scratching action for his tummy. And he couldn't help the light chuckle before his attention went back to the little elf who had discovered crust on his sandwich. "Don't like crust today? That's the best part." But he took the rest of the crust off the child's sandwich anyway, just because.
"Hey, when the world is weird around you, you have to pull double shift and keep up or it's going to leave you in the dust." Shaking his head lightly before giving a nod and a slight grin at her. "Sounds like a good deal. Jin is probably itching to get some running in and the like and Zyarkiel's knees are probably hurting him worse than he'd ever admit anyway. A break for all sounds good." Thusly on to finishing his sandwich and saying his goodbyes. Tension air needed to be cleared in that place.

"It does indeed. Enjoy yourself, Nadai. You've earned this." Catching him at the door and enveloping him in a long, friendly hug. "Thank you, Nadai. Thank you for everything that you did the whole time...finding Kelligrin and trying to cheer Zykariel and I both up and just being there for me. It means a lot. Now go have fun." Pressing a kiss to his cheek and squeezing his shoulder then heading back into the dining room and beginning the cleanup from lunch. "Where'd you go, Sevilin?"
Much happier now that his sandwich was crust free, he happily ate everything except for the bread, picking his sandwich apart quite meticulously. Then he ate the bread, despite the fact it was pocked full of finger holes. "Daddy say night night to Kariel?"

He was still busy tending to his son and tried not to think about what was happening in the hall as his wife skittered off after Nadai and promptly came back. Which of course that ended up in him eating the crust on the boy's plate because honestly he was hungry and he had never liked to see food go to waste. "I suppose just for a long walk. Didn't have anyplace in mind really." Which was true, aimless wandering around for the sake to do so. Though he couldn't help but frown a little at his older son's nickname, letting the emotion fall off his face the next moment. "No, Zykariel wouldn't want to be distrubed." Ruffling the boy's hair and eating the last piece of crust on his plate.
