Rajeshri Anjal There's such a thing as a frozen burrito? Do you like heat it up or is it like a desert burrito? Kit kats are awesome though. It's a burrito, most the time just beans and cheese, that if flash frozen at a factory. Then sold for super cheap, usually in the 50-75 cent range, then you just pop it in the microwave for like a minute. Pretty good, really filling. @Cam- I like kids and all but I don't have the money for one. So, I hope I not. sweatdrop

Phew thanks for clearing that up Exxos xd I love everything cheese, I love watching docos on how its made. One day I would love to do a cheese tour of Europe.
@ Kujujuwa - Cheap burritos sounds good! Food here is so expensive right now, I was going to make guacamole the other day but avocados were $4 each! I hear you on the kid thing too, I saw a report once saying that by the time you've raised your child to 18 years old you've spent over a million dollars o.O
@Lilygwen - sorry you're not well, sounds like what I had just before Christmas. Also I remember my neighbours dogs would always throw up at the sound of fireworks so NYE wasn't fun for them.

Rajeshri Anjal I saw a report once saying that by the time you've raised your child to 18 years old you've spent over a million dollars o.O And something that has to be considered with that is that those studies have to base the figures largely on 18yo kids now, so kids born in 1992 or so. So with inflation and whatnot, it would be even more for kids more in the immediate future.

I don't think it's useful to get an "average" figure for raising a child because it can potentially vary an enormous amount. When you look at the things you typically have to spend money on (housing, food, clothes, transportation, education, medical, etc), those things already vary a lot just depending where you live. More affluent families will typically spend more - for example: huge house in nice neighborhood vs. apartment or modest house in the suburbs or rural area, private vs. public education, designer clothes vs. target and goodwill, Whole Foods organic food vs. neighborhood grocery. I think maybe the study is confusing what people are willing to spend to raise a child with what it actually costs for the basics.

Now owning a dog! That gets expensive. Especially when said dog decides to swallow a superball and then need surgery to have it removed. gonk (btw - he's fine now - this happened about a year and a half ago. Then about 6 months later he ripped his ear and needed stitches. *sigh* crazy dog)

Knocks on wood. lol Don't get me wrong. We adore our puppy. He just had crazy bad luck that first year. I think he picked up that super ball from the kids that lived on the other side of the fence. They were always lobbing things over the fence into our yard.

Woah, been mia .. my hometown of Brisbane is in the middle of a natural disaster! There's been flooding and the banks of the Brisbane river have broken. This town I visit, Toowoomba had flash flooding, like an inland tsunami. Crazy because it's on top of a mountain. It's been raining for weeks and well, it's flooding stressed I'm lucky, I'm staying at my parents which is in a safe area, just worried about all my friends and my boyfriend whose decided to stay in his flat to look after his stuff. Man never seen a disaster like this in my town, any of you guys had some natural disaster in your towns?
btw my dog is safe and sound in the house with us, he got scared by the thunder but he's getting pampered now xp

I've been following the flooding on the news. Where I grew up we had severe blizzards and the occasional tornado or flooding - but nothing as major as what you're currently dealing with.

New RIG list can be found here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/gaia-community-discussion/lost-chapter-complete-item-list/t.68691503/ I love all the literary references. Does anyone else always think of Daffy Duck and the Scarlet Pumpernickel when the Scarlett Pimpernel is mentioned? Just me? Yeah I know I'm old...

*looks at the new RIG item list*
Nothing of interest other than the cute little bookworm I lost from the new RIG game and that vampy SDdoll I bought in the marketplace. Well, at least I made it to the end of the Lost Chapter. Tempting to open the final prize but nah... I'll store it in my vault until I decided what to do with it. I missed that Trickbox. That was the only RIG which I actually enjoyed playing with it.

@Raj: Thanks and good to hear you are ok. I think there's odd and extreme weather conditions around the globe at the moment. We've had really cold winter and recently the weather has been from -20C (-4F) to +4C (39F) within few days. This weekend it's again -20C and on monday it should be around +2C and raining water. rolleyes
RIG's ... now I haven't followed that closely the RIGs but recently they all seem to look like the same. There are some dolls, few backgrounds and then some clothes. *shrugs* Some of them looks nice though, but not so nice that I would actually try to get them.
