"Basically. I'm usually up fairly early because of the children." And if she wasn't up, Sevilin would be at the crack of Underdark dawn anyway. Her request for the basic amount he'd need was only to have an idea of where to start. She was intending to pay him a salary that he would be comfortable on. Business had been doing particularly well the past few years with Nightmare requests and sales rising exponentially so she could easily afford it right out of the business earnings. But entering the stables, she patted one of the noses that pushed against her.

"You'll be responsible for feeding and grooming schedules as well as helping me correlate breeding. We share breeding records with the neighboring stables of the D'vinn's but there are more and more requests for stud usage from outside breeders and such. That requires a stud fee payment just as it would if we were breeding one of our own mares with their stallion. All breeding contracts go through me, that is very important, Nadai. You can do more of the mobile work that is much harder for me with my family and my current condition. That includes spreading the word, answering client's calls and checking into potential sales associates and clients. If you see any mares you'd like to breed Jin with, just let me know and we'll work something out. Tack is over there. Feed is through here in these bins and the corral is outside. Exercising runs on a schedule which I'm sure you're familiar with. Oh, one more thing, Zykariel is responsible for Destyny's care." Giving him a smile. "Any questions? If not, we'll go back inside and I'll show you where the books and records are kept."

As long as Mommy wasn't going to be mad he was all for it. He took the plate and looked at it for a moment with blinking eyes then watched his father. Giving a grin, he flung his wrist and threw the plate at the wall as hard as he could, watching it shatter with an excited clap and jumping up and down. "I dids it!"

He listened as he followed her about, taking it all in and nodding when appropriate. "Sounds doable. I'm sure I'll adapt easy enough." Giving her a grin and a look back out of the stables to Jin whom was gnawing on some glowing moss, then back to her. "I can't afford two horses, so no worries about me asking you to breed Jin for me." Maybe more the other way if Jin felt like it...but no he couldn't afford another horse. "Bring on the books. I think I'm going to have to learn to be a tad more organized if anything." Chuckling to that.

"Yes you did...feels good doesn't it?" Handing the boy another plate and then grabbing another himself and chucking it against the wall. "This is what mommy does with her old dishes."

"I figured as much. It's all the same things that you already know of really." She wasn't worried about him affording two horses since she was intending to make sure he could on his salary. And if he was still against it, well she could always board the foal. He'd be working and could train the baby at his own pace then Zahara could just give it to him as a gift. She could be sly sometimes. Leading him back inside and up to her bedroom, she opened the desk and pulled out the three books that held their records. "Breeding records and family trees, sales records, and accounts receivable. You may accept payments but if you enter them in here make sure I sign off so that Malik and Sevilin don't get confused when doing the books. The last thing we need is you being accused of being a thief."

"Yes!" Enthusiastic as always he tossed another plate and then reached down and grabbed another without it being handed to him. "Mommy said breaking is bad."

taking the books as he was handed them one by one to flip through their contents to see how things went down he nodded in acknowledgement again. "Wouldn't want that at all. If I do anything of the like I'd bring it to you before I headed home for the night, let you sign everything at once and thus we all have less hassel. I take it Malik is just particular about it because you report to him as well and share the business with Lady D'vinn...but Sevilin I'm not familiar with. I suppose though he'll hurt me if it looks like I'm doing wrong, yes?"

What was he doing in their room!? That just made him frown all the more and fling another plate. Did she let that elf walk around in any private area that he wanted too? What gave him that right and privilage? "It's only bad if you break something that is not in this box. If it's in this box, you won't get in trouble because it isn't bad." Kid still had a good arm for his age.

"Perfect." That would just be so much easier and then she'd know what was going on just in case Sevilin asked or something. Glancing back at him for a moment frowning, it cleared when she realized he hadn't been introduced to Sevilin officially. "Oh, Sevilin is Zykariel's father. He's the elf who is wandering around here somewhere." Bending to replace the books in the drawers and lock them up, she ushered him back out and downstairs. "He does my books for me because the math frustrates me. That's pretty much it unless you have any questions?"

Another plate flung against the wall and he watched as it shattered. Daddy seemed a little annoyed so Kelligrin reached into the box and handed him a big plate. "Daddy upset. Throw." He was quite excited to learn that he could throw these plates and not get into trouble.

Oh so that one was Zykariel’s father who hung around sometimes. Apparently he was in on Zahara’s horse thing somehow or another. Not that he’d be asking because well…that man gave him rather unsettling looks. But he turned and headed back downstairs at her urging. And there was the answer, “Understandable, numbers like to make a lot of people crazy. I think I’m good though, easy to get it all…I assume that in my free time I may be accosted by a young elf. If he thinks it’s worth his time.”

He blinked and couldn’t help but smile that his son was trying to help relieve some of the frustration he was feeling by handing off plates. Thusly it was flung at the wall before he crouched down to the child’s level, ruffling his hair. “Am I being that obvious? Your mother doesn’t seem to think so.”

"I thought as much. If you do think of anything, please feel free to ask me anytime. I'd rather you ask than do something you don't understand and possibly cause harm. Especially since neither of us wants to hurt a horse in anyway that we don't have to." She headed back to the kitchen to begin washing up the dishes and nodded. "Most likely. He'll be back from school soon enough and if he really wants to do this, he'll ask you to start lessons. If he's really eager though, once Malikhai comes back he'll stick to them."

Giving him a big happy smile he nodded. "Bonds angry. Mommy too happy." Because the toddler understood when bonds were moving in polar opposites and what that meant. Just kind of came with the knowledge of being an elf. Thus handing up another plate. "Still sads."

Standing idly by as Zahara did dishes only made him fidget so he picked up the rag nearby that was obviously used for drying said dishes and began to pluck out the clean ones and dry them, stacking them neatly on the counter afterward. "Well all I can do is offer things to him. He seemed quite surprised that I've never really taught anyone else my techniques."

"Yes, mommy is happy." Because that elf was around...and he didn't like it at all. Which is why since he was going to apparently be working here now, Sevilin was going to have a micromanaging eye on him. Just needed a moment where Zahara wasn't looking. Another plate flung and he picked up the child, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "You want to help make me less sad?" Kicking the box of plates under his desk he left his training room. "Why don't we ask mommy for some cookies?"

She was very pleased that he was willing to help her with the dishes and she gave him a rewarding smile for it, too. Picking up the plates, she put half of them up and then pointed to the top cabinet that was too high for her to reach. "Would you put those up there?" Sevilin usually helped her out with that sort of thing but he was absent at the moment. "He's a silly teenage boy who thinks everything has come about in his lifetime. They seem to think life has changed quite a bit since we were younger."

Kelligrin giggled happily and threw his arms around his father's neck happily, nuzzling his baby soft hair against his father's cheek. Nodding to that, he clutched a fistful of Daddy's tunic and started looking for his mother. "Mommy, cookies please?"

Zahara turned and grinned at her youngest, taking him from his father with an additional kiss pressed to his cheek. "You just had breakfast, you silly elf." A quick glance between Sevilin and Nadai. "Oh, Sevilin this is Nadai. He's going to be helping me out with the horses for a while." Nuzzling her son and then glancing at his clothes. "You two get to know each other. I'm going to get Kelligrin dressed."

"Mommy!"

"And then we'll see about cookies, alright?"

The toddler poked out his lower lip as he was carried upstairs. "Okay. If we gots to."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 02, 2008 9:41 pm

"Sure." Thusly putting plates up where they belonged in the higher places before folding the little towel again. "Well...it has changed in certain ways, just not the ways that they think of. More pointedly the carefree ways." Shrugging lightly and blinking before looking at the little voice that asked for cookies then pleaded more or less. Though he shifted his weight as he was left alone with the man...he didn't like that look he was being given...

Well...that wasn't the plan, but it worked well enough now didn't it? Letting her take Kelligrin he turned a look to Nadai. Slipping his hand into his pocket, he let his fingers grip the slave cuff in there as he walked toward the younger elf. "Going to be hanging around here more often, hm? Well then...can't have you going unnoticed." Lightining quick grabbing Nadai's wrist with one hand and his other slapping that cuff on the elf's arms, runes going off to seal it. A point to said cuff with his now free hand. "That's between you and me if you know what's good for you."

Completely oblivious to what was going on downstairs, she changed and dressed Kelligrin, letting him walk back downstairs since he threw a fit when she picked him back up. Which of course involved him holding the banister of the stairs and walking down them one at a time. Zykariel had slid down on his bottom and her girls had either crawled up and down them or had someone else carry them before they even attempted to walk. Walking back into the kitchen, she gave both elves a smile. "Everything alright?"

"Mommy, can I have a cookie now? Please?"

Little elf was getting antsy. "Yes, Kelligrin. Just give me a moment." It took her just about that long to pull a cookie out of the jar and settle him in his high chair with that and a small glass of milk. Giving him two cookies because he asked nicely and it would keep him busy, she turned back to the men. "Well? Anything we need to discuss?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 03, 2008 2:21 pm

Dropping Nadai's wrist he stepped away from the other and turned a look to Zahara as she came back and tended to cookies. Walking over to Kelligrin he picked up a cookie and broke it in half, handing both halves to the child so he could dip them easier.

And he just got himself into some kind of mess didn't he? A look to his wrist and he swallowed...what did that thing do but as his wrist was dropped he self conciously hid his wrist behind his back before pulling his sleeve down. Was it because of Zykariel? "Fine...and I think I have everything I need to know. And particular time you want me showing up in the mornings and that like?"

She gave a fond smile to her son as he expressed his thanks and happily began dipping the cookies into his milk and eating them. Crumbs and drips could easily be wiped up, his contentment was key. Pressing a kiss to the top of his head, she glanced over at the two men and nodded. "Good." She took on a thinking look for a moment and then shrugged. "I'm usually up with the children so feel free whenever you are ready in the morning to come on over. If you like, I'll make you breakfast once you're over here."

He was still nervous if anything...when was Sevilin going to leave? That would make him feel a whole lot better and he'd not have to look over his shoulder all the time. Then again thinking on the piece of cool metal against his wrist right now...well yeah. "No need to make more trouble than has to be made Zara."

Zahara just laughed. "Oh, Nadai, you're just being silly now. You know I love to cook and the more elves I can feed, the happier I am. But I'll leave that up to you." Walking over to him and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "If you have no other questions, you are free to go and we'll see you tomorrow morning. Zykariel should be home from school in another few hours. Would you like me to send him to you if he wants to continue his lessons or would you prefer taking a break from the boy?"
