Except that this is the FIRST time my school will not be getting an Honor Band. What's worse is, if what I have been told is correct, we were just shy of being a superior.
EDIT: This was states. There is no first place or last. You're judged against yourself, against perfection really. Getting a 2 means that my band was excellent. We wanted a 1, a superior, which would've meant that we would've had a chance at Honor Band again.

Except that doesn't get my school an Honor Band for this year. Almost doesn't cut it.
And again, this wasn't a competition. It was comparing us against our perfect show, and we were found very wanting. That doesn't salve my pride any.

That's the other thing. I CAN'T do it next year. I'm a senior in high school this year, and colleges don't do State Festival for Marching Band. I don't even know if they do competitions.
