Emiri watched as Alex walked over to the water, hanging his feet over the dock's edge. Noticing too where Brayden was, far out onto the water with what was left of one of the docks, Emiri stood in her spot, wanting to stay safely away from the water, though she was holding onto Gyarados' pokeball.
"Well, that's two down. I suppose we should tell them what we know," Emiri said to Aku, hoping he wouldn't go too close to the water.

Emiri started relaying through what Claire had told them in her head, and those words still haunted her in her head. What those trainers must have done to those pokemon to develop such things, it almost seemed inhumane to her. Emiri looked to Alex.
"I almost wish we hadn't talked to Claire," Emiri said solemnly.

Brayden had simply spaced out a bit, looking out over the water, lost in thought. He was still in a state of mild disbelief. After all, his entire hometown had just up and... vanished? Destroyed? Who knew what had happened...
Looking out over the ocean, things seemed just a bit more normal. He had grown up on this beach. But Bray would only have to look at the ruined dock beneath his feet to be brought back to reality.
Ariadne was keeping better track of what was going on around her, watching as Aku rejoined Alex and Emiri. The Gardevoir sighed.
'Earth to boss... You're getting spacey again...'
Brayden laughed, shaking his head, "I hear you..." He brought his gaze back to the shoreline, spotting the other three near the start of the pier. Brayden picked his way back across the wooden planks, careful to avoid any that seemed particularly dubious. In short time he was back near the beachline, and made his way over to the rest of the group.

"I'm alright... considering," Brayden murmured quietly. He was still understandably a bit out of sorts.
'But at least you're not curled up in a corner somewhere while the world burns,' Ari supplied "helpfully."
"Sorry to keep you waiting. I would like to know what Clair said. Maybe she had any ideas on what's going on and how to stop it?" Hopeful, but not probable. He tried not to look at where the city had once stood. While he wasn't falling to pieces just yet, he figured it wouldn't be too good of a thing for his mental state to think of his home as a desolate wasteland.

Aku explained to Alex and Brayden what he and Emiri learned, "Clair told us Lance has an Island off the main land. It's only assessable through the sea, you can travel there from one of the southern Kanto cities. She also said that there are some rocks on the island with mystical energy. You will have to be careful if Lance knows how to use that energy, and that we'll have an issue with the elite four in the first place because they have special abilities with their pokemon. She told us what those abilities are. Lance's powers are probably the most dangerous. He has the ability to communicate with his dragons, even over long distances, and has the power to heal their wounds in battle. Agatha's Gengar can create coffins out of ghostly power. Anything caught in these coffins are automatically killed after a short amount of time. Her Arbok can change the patterns on its belly using the same ghostly energy. Each pattern gives Arbok a special ability. Lorelai can create ice voodoo dolls. If the doll is destroyed, its target is killed. She usually will hide these dolls inside the hard shell of her Cloyster. Her Pokemon cooperate with each other beautifully, and are able to combine their attacks to create new attacks that are twice as powerful. Bruno is a bit of a pushover, and will usually go along with whatever the rest of the Elite four are doing. He has no big plans, but loves a tough fight, so he'll usually go along with Lance just because it usually promises tough battles. His Pokemon are trained to perfection, and specialize in stealth attacks. His Onixes have the ability to disconnect their segments, scattering around the landscape, and seeming just like normal boulders until they reform and strike by surprise." Brayden listened carefully as Aku explained what he and Emiri had learned from the dragon master in Blackthorn. The part about the island more than piqued his interest. More likely than not, that was where they needed to head to take on Lance.
Now there was a scary thought. Take on the region champ. It would seem a lot less daunting (but still terribly so) to be doing such under Pokemon League rules.
You know, with a judge to make sure your opponent doesn't run you through with a sword in the middle of the fight?
"We ran into Agatha's Arbok a while back at Iron Island, then again more recently in Cerulean," Brayden explained, "And Clair's right, that snake has the ability to change its skin with the speed that would make any reptile jealous."
'That thing's fangs are nothing to laugh at either...' Ariadne supplied, 'Sucker took me out in one hit. Bam. That poison works wonders...'
Brayden shivered, recalling the event. Not a pleasant one...
"Anyway... I think we also ran into Lorelai's Jynx back in Pewter. And that thing thoroughly creeped me out. She has a tendency for strangling things with her hair. Human, Pokemon, doesn't matter. And it likes Kaya, apparently, because she kept going after him during our fight..." Another less than pleasant mental image. Seeing your partner cocooned in strangling hair? Gross and scary.
"The island sounds promising, though, although it does sound like Lance is most likely prepared for anything. The question is... how do we get there?" Brayden sighed.

Brayden nodded, "Well, the most obvious choice would be to hop a boat from here in Fuchsia. While it isn't as big of a port town as Vermilion, it still has quite a good export business for the Sevii Islands and Cinnabar. But, with the docks in the state they are..." Bray cast a glance at the semi-organized pile of splinters resting out over the water, "I doubt a boat could make landing. While we could probably use water types to reach the island as well, I'm not too sure of its location."
"But as for friends, we do have Kaya and Chloe. Kaya should be with us shortly. I just parted ways with him back in Celadon, so he should be making his way here soon. I haven't heard anything from Chloe recently, but I'll drop her a line, perhaps we can get her help with us," Brayden smiled.
"There's also Marth. He was back in Celadon, but I haven't heard anything from him in a while either. I'm not sure where he went," Bray admitted.
But he dug in his bag, retrieving his Pokegear. He typed out a quick message to Chloe, sending it off.
