"HEY! It-it's not like that!" Estelle exclaimed, her face turning beat red at her friend's teasing remarks about cuddling. "Besides, Elio's got so many Fire-types, it's not like we needed to snuggle." Even as she explained, her thoughts drifted to the cold, clear nights spent sitting by Coalossal and gazing up at the stars while resting her head on Elio's shoulder. When did this become about my love-life? "Anyway weren't we talking about Sly?" She blurted out, trying to change the subject. "I don't really know what Elio thinks about all this. Just when I told him you'd seen Sly, he looked really serious. He didn't even protest Teleporting after that, and you know how much he hates Teleporting." Possibilities flashed through her mind. "You know, short of Kahiau, no one's as protective of you as Elio. You're almost like a sister to him, so he might just want to get Sly back for hurting you." Estelle was sure that was part of it, but she had a feeling there was more to it as well. Her tone became thoughtful, even as her face stayed a little red. "Though it's not like you're the only one Sly hurt when he vanished like that. We were his friends too, even though he and Elio did express it by fighting constantly. So maybe he wants to get some closure for himself." That seemed likely to Estelle, though she had a feeling there was something else she wasn't quite grasping.

Kahiau listened to what Dea had to say. There was times that he felt like he wasn't able to anything for for his sister but what Dea said was true.That he was doing what he can do and that was a lot. Then he felt her hand on his, and he wasn't expecting her to do that. A slight blush grace his cheeks that was almost not there as it was a very light pink."I try to do what I can and thank you Dea. I do what I can when I can. I know that there are times that I can't but that's life." Kahiau said, looking down at their hands that were together.
"Dea," He began before taking her hand that was resting on top of his into his hand. " Thank you for being there for me and Selene over these years. If you hadn't been here, I think I would have been more of a lost cause in a way. I know I would done things differently than I did, without your advise that would have taken a turn for the worse. Thank you for all the sound advice you have given me over the years. Especially when it came to Selene and Sly. " The Kahuna admitted to Deanna, wanting to let her know that he didn't take their friendship for granted.
Before he could stop himself, he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it. Now there was a noticeable blush on his face and hoped that he doesn't get slapped for that. 'I couldn't blame her for slapping me if she does though.' Kahiau thought to himself as he thought of what to say next. "Your friendship with me means the whole world to me Deanna and I don't take it for granted, at least I try not."He said looking at her, debating whether if he should take the risk or not. "I enjoy our friendship as well, yet I was wondering if you want to take a chance on us becoming more than just friends. Forgive if I'm being out of line on this. Will you take a chance with me, to be my Kāna ipo*?" The Kahuna of Poni Island asked his dearest friend, to be his sweetheart. Would she say yes or no? Kahiau was finally asking her when he should asked a lot sooner than this but it had been asked now. The question was, how will Dea respond back to him asking her to be his Kāna ipo*.
Deanna had to blink a little, thinking she might have been seeing things when it seemed Kahiau's cheeks had a pink tinge. Had she gotten him to blush a little, she wasn't sure. She nodded in agreement though, when he admitted he did his best, even knowing that sometimes life just did not allow him to do so. Then she felt him take her hand, saying her nickname once more, figuring that he had something more to say. She smiled as he thanked her for being there for himself and Selene. She hated to think he would have been a lost cause without her. She could only imagine what would have happened without her guidance, what he might have done. Then came a surprise, he kissed her on her hand, this time her own cheeks painted with a gentle pink color.
"I...Kai...did you..."Dea began to stammer. She got quiet again, when it seemed he was not done yet. She didn't slap him, she wanted to know what else was going on in that head of his. She paid attention as he explained how much her friendship meant to him and how he didn't take it for granted. She was grateful for their friendship too, he helped her feel like her words mattered. He was also willing to help her when she needed it, which was important to her. When he asked if she wanted to take a chance on being more than friends, her heart picked up its pace in her chest. It intensified when he asked her to be his sweetheart, her cheeks brightening even more pink. She placed a hand over her chest, trying to steady herself for an answer.
"Oh Kai, you mean the world to me too. I..would be honored to be your Kāna ipo. I would say if you really want me, but I am sure you do. You wouldn't have asked otherwise, plus you have been wonderful with my condition,"she said with love in her eyes.
Whoohoo, it is about time. You have been wishing to have him ask for a bit, but thought maybe he wouldn't,'Lightning spoke to her trainer.
"Oh really?" Selene said with a smirk before letting out some laughs at her friend that was now blushing a beat red. "That is true, Elio does have many fire types but they are not for cuddling with."She teased her friend. "Also true, the talking about Sly that is. Elio is like a brother now to me, due to our our time together in Kalos. Plus, we were born on the same day, same year but different parents and in different regions. So in one sense we are birthday twins. I'll claim as my brother though. I can't say that I could stop Elio from getting payback, even though a part of me wants him to do so and not at the same time." Selene said back to her, as their pokemon that were out were following behind them.
"Hmm, before the two of you came on the scene, Sly was the most protective of me, more that my brother is to be honest. It may not seem like it back then but true. It maybe possible that he's still being protective of me but more at a distance now due to whatever he got himself mixed up with. Elio's protectiveness is appreciated." Selene said, not knowing that Sly had a hand in having Monitor leave her alone after Meloetta joined her team. Yet, she did know now that had been Sly that sent the purple hibiscuses so it wouldn't be far stretch theory for him to be protecting her from a distance back then. He had been keeping up with her enough to know when and where to send the purple hibiscuses to her.
"I did get a little bit of closure today but I want to know more though. Hopefully Elio can get some closure along with you. You and Elio did help pick up the shattered pieces of me back then. Those were some seriously dark times and I don't know if I could have come out of those times without you two. I know I wouldn't have been able to continue to go for being Kalos Queen without y'all help." Selene admitted to her friend, not for the first time or the last time on that matter as they closer to Kahiau's house.

Hearing her friend recall the events of the day, as well as past years, Estelle couldn't help wondering if this encounter might be something Selene needed. I know it's going to be hard. But maybe this will be the next phase of her healing. I hope so... Selene also acknowledged the support Estelle and Elio had offered her in the wake of Sly's disappearance to which Estelle said, "Ever since our Island Challenge, I just couldn't imagine my life without you. I'm glad we were able to help. You've always been a strong person, even when you don't realize it yourself. So I think you'd have found the strength even alone - Not that I'll ever let you go it alone." Estelle smiled and gave her friend a squeeze as they approached the house. As emotional as the day had been, it was nice to be back in Alola with Selene again.

Kahiau's heart rate was going faster as he asked her to be his sweetheart and while he waited for her answer. He wasn't sure how she would respond back to his question. The Kahuna of Poni Island was hoping that Dea would say yes but there was a chance that she would say no. Relief went across his face as she had said yes to be his sweetheart. He lifted her hand back to his lips and kissed her hand again. "Kāna ipo,I'm so glad you said yes." Kahiau said as he got up from the chair and went behind Deanna so he pull the wheel chair out some so he pick her up. But first he picked up Jasmine, the Rockruff, and Lighting, the Pikachu, and set them on the sofa one at a time.
Then he took Deanna into his arms bridal style and gently twirled them around the room. Kahiau was joyful and thankful that Dea said yes. "Oh Dea, you made this man an ecstatic one by saying yes."He said with big smile on his face, looking into her own face. He was debating whether he should kiss her on the lips now as their faces were close to each other now. "Kāna ipo,"the Kahuna whispered softly to her her before leaning his head down to kiss her on the lips. He did so slowly so Dea could keep him from doing so if she wasn't ready for it yet.
Dan got back to his feet as Jolteon ran to stand beside him, and Pidgeot alighted on his other side. Lickitung was a ways back and would remain that way despite the pounding of his stubby legs. Rockruff came up just behind and to the side of Jolteon though, panting from his run. The girl said she was fine. "Uh hah yeah, I guess you and me both," said Dan, wondering how she thought it was her own fault when he had been the one not watching where he was going. Maybe she had been looking some other direction, too. He then looked to the Zoroark who had caught her and was now glaring at him. "Sorry, guy!" he apologized to the Pokemon. Something was strange about it... oh, it was shiny, cool! "It's OK, I get it. You're a shiny, huh?" he said, looking back to Sebastian. "That's cool!"

Deanna felt her hand being lifted to his lips once more, feeling the gentle kiss on the back of it. She smiled softly, her cheeks still as pink as a lovely pink rose as she listened to how he was happy to hear her say yes. She liked hearing him call her Kāna ipo again, it just had such a nice ring to it when it came from his lips. When he got up from his seat, she wondered where he was going, did he forget something? That is when she saw him walk behind her chair and pull her back from the table, wondering if he was going to roll her over to the door, but he couldn't be ready for her time with the girls yet, right? It seemed less likely as he scooped up Jasmine from her lap and went to place her on the couch. Then he came back for Lightning too and did the same, Dea tilting her head curiously on his thoughts right now. She didn't have long to wait as he returned to her and lifted her out of her chair and held her in his arms. She leaned against him as he twirled them around, it seemed she really had made him quite happy.
"Well, I am glad you are so happy I said yes. I am glad you asked, so I could say yes, honestly. I was hoping we would become more, Kāna ipo,"she admitted to him. She watched as his face came closer to her own, her heart hammering again at that. She leaned up, trying to get closer herself, her lips tingling at the thought of getting to kiss him. She didn't want to stop him, not one bit, she wanted it as much as he wanted it. Her eyes closed as her lips were so close to pressing against his own.
This is what we have wanted, Jas,'Lightning grinned to the Rockruff beside her. The dog Pokemon nodded her head in agreement, wagging her tail.
After hearing what Estelle had to say, she turned to face her and gave Estelle a Beware hug."Same, I couldn't imagine what my life would be without you being in it Estelle. Thank you for being there when I needed you back then. If you and Elio hadn't been there when ya'll were there when... There would have been more a higher chance that I wouldn't be here alive with you right now. You remember that close call one night..." Selene trailed off, shivering slightly while that memory went through her head. ' If Estelle hadn't come to check on me when she did that night, I would have died. I got to stay strong, and not cut myself due to letting my emotions getting the better of me. Been clean for four years now, I don't need to break it with a new cut.' She thought to herself before speaking again.
"Not sure if I'm a really strong woman like you say but I do know that I am a stronger person due to you helping me along the way. Family, friends, my support group in Kalos, and some of my sponsors that supported me all this time helped. It was mostly you my dear friend and thank you not letting me do it alone."Selene said before letting go of Estelle and then climbing the stairs that weren't covered by the wheelchair ramp that was set up for Dea.
It would be safe to say that either Selene and Estelle weren't expecting to see what was happening when Selene opened the front door. Her eyes went wide with surprise and lifted her hands to cover her mouth to help her stay quiet. Seeing her brother swirling Dea around the room and now about to kiss Dea, she kept silent as she didn't want to distract the two from what they were doing. She was happy for them, as it was about time. Yet, a small part of her was jealous of her brother. That didn't happen often that she would be jealous of Kahiau. Selene pushed that thought out of her mind for now, not knowing how Estelle was going to react to seeing the two about to kiss right in front of them...

Estelle smiled warmly as Selene hugged her, then lowered her eyes a little as Selene mentioned her close call. Estelle was glad to have helped her friend in her darkest hour, and when she really thought about it, the Pokémon astronomer was amazed by the strength she'd found in herself by doing so. But I'd give up all that in a heartbeat for that Rhyhorn-brain to have shown up that day and given Selene the happy life she deserves... It was really to scary for Estelle to even consider what could have happened if she hadn't checked on Selene that one night. "Hey, knowing to get help from your support group is the most important part of strength." The fair-haired girl answered her friend's comment. "And like I said: I won't let you go it alone. I'm glad I get to be as big a support for you as you are for me. Oh, you're going to make me cry again." She added as she felt a tear in her eye, but smiled instead as Selene opened the door to her brother's house. As the door opened, Estelle proved to be far less graceful than her friend. "Hi, every-OH MY TAPU! S-Sorry!" Estelle said turning red as the top half of a Pokéball seeing Kahiau and Dea about to kiss. "Uh, just pretend we aren't here, haha."

Deanna was just waiting for their lips to finally connect, knowing it would be any second now. She wanted to know how his lips felt pressed against her own, she wanted to enjoy their first kiss as a couple. Sure, there had been cheek and forehead kisses as friends, but this was actually on the lips and as a couple. She was so lost in the waiting with bated breath, feeling her heart still beating out a quick rhythm in her chest, it was just so very close she could feel it. She was so lost in her thoughts, it took a moment for her to register the door opening and the exclamation that came issuing out. Her eyes popped open and she looked to the door, where Selene and Estelle stood.
"Umm...er...hi,"she spoke softly. She wanted to point out it was hard to pretend they were not there when she definitely made their presence known. She felt sort of disappointed that even if they were together now, she was pretty sure neither of them wanted an audience for this. However, it seemed the girls were there now, there just was no getting around it.
Aw come on, they couldn't wait a few more minutes,'Lightning grumbled.

Crystal smiles. "He'll be fine." She says before seeing the rockruff and saying "Awww so cute!" She smiles at the rock puppy pokemon gently coming down to its level to say hello. "I'm actually looking for a rockruff myself. I'm wanting to become friends with one so we can travel together." She says as she smiles at Dan. Sebastian keeps a close eye on Dan and his pokemon. Ever since they were attacked on Mele Mele Island, he'd been keeping a close eye on his trainer to protect her. He could do more now that he'd evolved, but Yuki and Crystal were still his only trusted friends.

Rockruff glanced to Dan, then came toward the female trainer and wagged his tail vigorously. When she got down on his level, he yipped and hopped around excitedly. Dan chuckled. "He's my new friend. Someone gave him to me, he was the... ah, the Kahuna, that's right! Kahiau. I don't know if he has another one, but I've seen a lot of people with them here so you might be able to find one. Maybe we can help you!"
Jolteon noticed that the Zoroark looked quite wary. "Relax man, you're too tense!"

"Well he's adorable." She says before she hears Dan offering to help. SHe nods and says "Sure! We could use all the help we can get." She adds as Sebastian just rolls his eyes at the Jolteon more interested in his trainer's safety than anything. He knew that she could be naive when it came to those around her. While she'd been a little more careful since he and Yuki were almost taken from her, she still had her own troubles.

"Alright! Now where to begin looking..." Dan peered around the beach as if expected to just see a Rockruff hanging out somewhere. He looked at his own Rockruff. "Do you know where to find more of your kind?" Rockruff shook his head. "No. I hatched from an egg at Kahiau's house, not with other Rockruff." Dan could not understand exactly what was said, only that it was a negative. "Maybe Kahiau knows! I don't know where he is but we can look for him. Come on!" Dan would then take off running toward the nearest town. Jolteon zoomed ahead of him with Rockruff just behind, yipping happily. Pidgeot and Lickitung remained, though Lickitung stayed hidden behind Pidgeot. "I hope you're all right with a lot of running," Pidgeot said to Crystal and her Pokemon, not realizing that Crystal had hurt her leg earlier that day. Pidgeot opened her wings and prepared to fly.
