xxxxSupply Tents

So many people! "Master!" Uquin called, surprised, turning his eyes -well. Eye, towards him. He saw the man's eyes drop briefly to Padma, and he felt a swell of shame for bringing her to a battle. Perhaps it would have been best to leave the girls with Pahana's father, but... he really didn't have the heart to leave them behind. That could end up being their end, he realized. No - no he couldn't think so negatively. Shaking his head, he looked at Mella once more, and nodded at her words. She truly was a good person, having come here despite how thoroughly the healing tent last time had startled her. It truly meant a lot that she was here despite that.

That and with his doom and gloom outlook, Uquin had to admit he was glad to see her. To talk to her. " Yes - yes, it's good to see you as well." He echoed, feeling his cheeks heating up in mortification at having not greeted her so warmly before. Now, he bowed his head, briefly, and tugged at the end of his scarf, almost nervously, turning to look down at Padma. "This is... my daughter, Padma. Her sister is with their mother, Pahana." And why did it feel so strange to say that out loud? He and Pahana were... well. They hadn't spoken much on what they were to one another. Pahana treated him with some degree of warmth and physical touch, but at the same time she seemed warm and sweet to most she met. To Uquin, they were parents of two children, but he had never gotten around to quite asking what they were beyond that.

And what was most strange was him wanting to voice that distinction to Mella. Would it seem out of place to suddenly say 'Pahana is my friend, but also their mother' out of nowhere, unprompted? Would it seem he was declaring Pahana an unfit lover? Because he didn't want to give the impression about her, and it... ahh, societal expectations were so STRANGE.

So instead he turned his mind to business. Turning to Biroki once more, he forced himself to relax and instead motioned to his face, the whole right side of which was bandaged. "If you're free before the battle, I wondered if there was a topical painkiller in the tent that you could apply for me - I don't want my mind gone before the wounded come in." He had already imbibed some mild painkillers, but his face still ached horribly and he'd rather some more, or else the pain would only distract him worse.

When the woman came close, Padma peeked at her, curious, but then the little beast returned, and Padma glared at him again, folding her arms again. She did seem to relax more when Biroki appeared. She hadn't really met the man too frequently, since he lived far away, but he'd been around sometimes to talk to papa, so she knew him. "It's good to see you, Uncle Biroki!" She said, giving a bow and mimicking her papa, who gave her a scandalized look at the name she used. What? The man was older than papa, but they were friends - and just using his name seemed impolite!

Once introduced, Padma looked at Mella again, then dropped her eyes to Telwren, blinking at his antics. "For me?" She echoed, and the little girl couldn't help but feel guilty for her behavior in glaring at him. Squatting once more, Padma looked at her father for confirmation (to which he nodded), then reached carefully to take the piece- only she broke it in half with some effort (it was jerky, after all, and somewhat chewy so it took a few wrenches and yanks), then put the other half on the ground for Telwren, while chewing on her own piece with a happy hum.

She checked with papa first because there were lots of yummy looking things in their house, but papa said they were poisonous and that he had to check food before she ate. And she didn't want to be poisoned!

xxxxSleeping Tents

Honestly, Lucijah worried that she wouldn't be able to soothe her lover. And she wasn't sure what it was that did it, because when Lucijah went into a rage logic was sure not to break her out of it. Nera, on the other hand, raged ... then paused and considered for a moment. "And yours would... have me bow down and be their lesser. We're both different then." Lucijah conceded, nuzzling her face against Nera's neck, nuzzling her with a smile.

Then Nera was speaking, and Luc leaned back, her eyes widening slightly, fixing her with a confused, but hopeful gaze. "So does that mean..." She started, hoping that maybe her lover would switch sides. Become their ally. But then Lucijah thought more on it, and realized that if this came out - if Lucijah tried to walk Nera around the camp saying she was a Resistance member, then people who demand Nera sneak into camp and release their loved ones. That meant putting her injured Nera into harms way, where she could be caught for treason - and even then part of Lucijah doubted Nera would go with it.

So what did it matter? After a moment, Luc shook her head then leaned their foreheads together. "As long as you don't want us all to be ruled by your people, I don't care what you call yourself. If you don't want to actively stop me from resisting, then your allegiance isn't my business."

If, in her heart, Nera believed this junk Lucijah would be saddened, but would let her have her thoughts. If she stepped out and tried to hinder the Resistance though... well. She didn't think it would come to that.

Xilarn sighed softly, trying not to sound overly relieved as he laced his fingers through Ken's. At very least, it seemed less like trespassing with his hybrid companion at his side. With a mutter of thanks, he drew the captured limb up, gave a pause as a flicker of doubt crossed through his mind, then continued on anyway, tugging Kennet toward him so he could brush his lips against the back of the other male's knuckles. At this point, he was just going to have to allow whatever was going to happen, regardless of his own wishes.

He snorted softly as he let their entwined fingers drop back to his side. "Is idly bringing him up in passing your way of asking me to meet your father?" On its own, that seemed harmless enough, but Xil doubted anyone distressed enough about the war to be wasted over it would be that thrilled to see the enemy in their camp... "Whatever," he grumbled with a scoff. "If that's what you want."

Chandra noted the look he was given even if he seemed to have his head back into the pages of the book he had read a hundred times before. He still couldn't completely the newcomer, some part of him wondering when Aysun had met this woman and felt a stab of jealousy. It wasn't that he wanted to make friends, but the fact his brother had gone out and done something without him felt almost a foreign concept. Aysun always seemed to be pestering him so it was hard to accept that he probably had made friends outside of himself.

Perhaps it was why put on an even icier expression, giving the new comber a rather could shoulder. "Mother will probably kill you for even being near the thing. She knows you too well Aysun...I am surprised she hasn't even come back to check on us. " He continued in a tone that indicated he wasn't particularly apart of the conversation, just making a snarky remark here and there...though paying enough attention despite 'reading' obviously to make such remarks.

Korra like most children was wide eye'd as the newcomer actually came to speak to her. Holding onto Aysun's hand as if to make sure she wouldn't get lost she gave the woman a smile. Giggling as she asked if she was a friend and shook her head, only to nod her head when Aysun answered the question for her. Cousin had a nice ring to it. Though unrelated by blood she was being taken care of as if she was. It warmed her heart and made her enjoy her new 'family' even more.

Looking back to the beast as Aysun quickly informed them they shouldn't tell Aunt Kei Kei about him petting the acidic drooly creature made her laugh out loud.

"But Ay you wanted to..l...lib...librate it. I could help hide it for you." She managed with bright eyes. The idea of having such a creature at home sounded like fun! Looking back to Ikkio she reached out her free hand to offer it to the woman.. Chandra was being his normally grouchy self so there was little point offering him a hand. "Don't you think? I think so."

Borra was already planning too much, thinking on how the flute and the lute could go wonderfully together and putting together harmonies that shouldn't exist without actually consulting the flute player.

"That is really interesting," Borra started his attention now one hundred percent on Viveka and wondering who this Nastu was and if he could meet him soon. "Where is he? I would love to meet him and perhaps plan out some melodies." Borra started and like a child you could see his excitement plain on his face. The young minstrel wasn't the type to hide his feelings, usually wearing whatever emotion plainly on his face. Already putting a few notes together in his mind the hummed a few as if to test out the melody already.

"Ah...sorry I shouldn't be trying to get rid of you." He laughed his spirits were already lifted it seemed with the distraction of planning music. "What do you do Viveka?" He inquired trying to be polite.

The poor man didn't realize that he had offended his large companion, and was a bit surprised by the arm wrapping around him in a rather possessive manner. Though Borra mistook it for worry he patted Gyuri's arm and even seemed to lightly hug it. He found some comfort in the body guards presence. Large and solid like a rock, he felt soothed with his presence.

"Wouldn't it be neat though Gyuri? I can work with someone who could actually sing!" Borra exclaimed happily as he then looked to Eira curiously at her comment about the Matori men. He tilted his head and thought on it a bit, but the woman was still stuck in his mind...what if the men looked completely different? It was hard to say.

"I bet none of them are nearly as big as Gyuri." Borra managed with a firm nod of his head.

Sin'qua tilted her head at his comment about dealing with children. Rowdy ones at that. Who could he possibly know who were children? Feeling as if she was in unfamiliar territory as she didn't know any of Makani's friends or really that much about Makani himself she felt herself distance herself out of habit. Her face still blushing slightly as she clutched her hand at her side.

"No your sister as it were is hardly the one we need to worry about right now. I know you can 'see' now but...please don't stray far. I don't need an arrow going through you..." Sinny managed some bit of compassion leaking into her normally cold tone of voice. Swallowing she shook her head as if trying to clear it. Perhaps Sin'qua wanted him to realize she cared for him, but it certainly didn't help that she was normally rather snarky with him.

"Ah...big news huh? You know with the arrival of a new tribe, The Matori I think she called themselves. Too bad you can't see her, though she looks weird enough maybe you don't want to."

The leaf tribe woman was moving her deadly look from her brother to her ...the shifter Takoda. Riled up was hardly described the furious mother. She was going to seriously murder Chalcedony when she found him. How could he do this without talking to her about it? She knew that they weren't a couple, but it did concern her and their boys. Seething she cast a look past Jacinthus to where the gathered scouts had already left the area. It was probably a good thing she didn't manage to join in the mission, if she had found out while scouting she probably would of alerted the entire Oban camp to their presence.

The only thing that managed to pull her away from her murderous rage was the fact that the boys were brought up. She turned her glowering face to the shifter as if pinpointing the blame on him if her question was not answered to her satisfaction.

"They were near the beast weren't they? I bet Aysun was slobbering all over that thing and if he was I am going to ground him till the next full moon." she snapped.

Seeing how upset Keilana was made the shifter feel as if he had done her a dis-service by not warning her about Chal's absurd plan. The plan had been practical enough, but it still made him annoyed to think how selfish he was being. Then again Chal hadn't even told him in person, he only found out through Jacinthus...and why Chalcedony would confide in him ...made it feel as if it may be his last act alive.

Taking in his lovers warmth he felt the beads adorning his clothes clinked together harmoniously. It seemed almost too sweet a sound for the situation they were in. At the question from the leaf man he nodded his head, still feeling a bit worried about leaving Korra with her cousins.

"Y..es they were fine with looking after her. I just can't help but worry about her...she gets lost so easily. I did remind them..." He managed to say before he was being assaulted with a question from Keilana. He flinched if only due to his timid nature and then...slowly nodded his head.

"Ah..yes they were near the beast," He managed without stammering somehow. Feeling somewhat like he was ratting out Aysun who couldn't help but love all creatures. "Chandra was with him...reading as usual.."

The scouts have moved on, and the camp is left to continue its bustle in preperation for the coming battle. Some of the elders return to the tents to plan, while Naria remains by the Yaotl to talk with any who express interest or have questions. The expression of interest from Kaalnia receives a blank look from the water tribeswoman, who tilts her head and seems befuddled, wondering aloud "Is such a thing relevant?", before turning her attention back to her beast, unsure what to say about the strange questions.

( For now, continue as you would! )

“I don’t want everyone governed by my King, that’s not what I want. I just---,” struggling against a sigh Nera worked her jaw from side to side in a vain effort in silencing the automation from escaping her but failed and ended up breathily exhaling into the crook of a dark slender neck. “I think some aspects of my way of life are more practical and beneficial is all. If there was just some way our cultures could come together and find a meeting point, the potential growth our societies could gain would be unbelievable.” Narrowing her shoulders the handsome youth sighed once again, this time airily and without the undertones of frustration knitting onto the edges. “I’m never going to stop you from doing what you believe in, even if our opinions differ.”

Reaching up with straightened fingertips Nera caressed the sides of Lucijah’s full, healthy face drinking in the smoothness of her skin and the warmth that radiated into her digits. She had missed everything about this woman from the shimmering pools of ice that made her chest constrict, to the tips of her elongated ears that somehow stirred a touch of jealousy over the oddly shaped appendage. Everything.

“I’m exhausted, my duchess, could you--- take off my sandals for me. I don’t want to see what my feet look like, not knowing how badly they look will spare me from some of the pain.”

A blush rose to her face as she noticed him checking her out. Finnley knew she had changed quite a bit since they last saw each other and she hoped he liked the change. Smiling hesitantly as he patted the ground beside him. Finnley sat beside him but faced him, with her legs folded to the side and she propped herself up with her right hand letting her staff rest on the ground next to her. "I've been well. It has b-been quite awhile! I was at Neued before it w-was attacked and I found a mentor and h-helped her give birth! I knew all the herbs and their meanings and it w-was incredible!" The passion in her voice was as clear as the confidence that was starting to build. "H-how about you? Where's Viveka?" She had noticed the other's presence immediately and hoped nothing had happened to him.

Aysun - prentice
Location by the big lizard's cage with Chandra, Korra, & Ikkio
Post: 6

Aysun seemed to think about that one for a moment before giving a chuckle as he scratched the back of his head, "Haha... yeah, I am sure that since this guy isn't exactly the most insonspicuous of creatures that Mom knows all about him." He said, glancing up at the lizard for a moment before he said, "Meaning if she's seen him she knows exactly where I am. I probably wouldn't be anywhere else unless a herd of something else rare and new came trotting by." A thought that had him looking around for a moment, hopefully... but no luck, no herd of rare new beasts were walking by looking for him to adopt them all. As such his attention went back to those that he was chatting with.

It was then that he realize that his brother was back to reading, "Eesh, really? We just got you to lift your head. Honestly Chandra! How are you going to see anything going on around you with your face buried in that thing all the time?" Aysun asked, giving a bit of a pout, "I promise if I wasn't looking after Korra I would tackle you right here and now and take it away!" He declared to his brother, sticking his tongue out at him. How he wanted to take that book and toss it to the lizard, to see if it was a fan of old, boring, brother stealing books! Looking down at Korra he told her, "It seems that if anyone needs liberating at the moment it's poor Chandra, he's being held captive by that dangerously boring book! Just look at the way that it's stealing all of his attention away like that!"

Glancing toward Ikkio he said, "Now that would be the full reason why I am not a big fan of books." He told her, recalling that he'd complained once before when she mentioned her own interest in such things. At least she didn't keep her face buried in a book even when they were chatting now. Squatting down in front of Korra he said in his more dramatic hero voice, "Korra! Help me save Chandra from the book!" So long as she was helping she wouldn't get lost, right? As such he felt that it was the perfect plan for keeping her occupied as well as saving Chandra!

Jacinthus - ranger

Jacinthus seemed to regard his sister as she complained about Aysun, talking about how he was going to be grounded until the next full moon. Not as though the boy hadn't been grounded over his obsession with various beasts in the past, it made him wonder if the kid would ever realize what such animals were really useful for. In his eyes the only good animal was one that was slow cooked over an open fire with various herbs that one could gather around Tale and Jauhar. It was something he doubted that Aysun would want to hear though, not really one that ate as much meat as he should... it was a bit like Takoda at times. Jacin wasn't nearly so picky though, readily eating whatever was stupid enough to allow itself to be caught in his sights when he was hunting.

"No offense, Little Kei, but at times I think your boys might be a bit soft." He said when Takoda mentioned that the twins were hanging out around the lizard, one fawning over it and the other one just... reading. Now really didn't seem like the time for either of those things he thought to himself, debating over something, before he said, "Little Kei... I have a thought, and please don't crush me with that hammer of yours, but do you think that the twins should maybe be given weapons? I am not saying to send them out to the battlefield, it's no place for them, but just in case any of the Obans happen to get into the camp."

He gave a sigh then quickly added, "It's not something I want to think about, the Obans trying to get passed us, but I wouldn't put it passed them to do as we are doing. I'd rather head to the battlefield knowing they can defend themselves and Korra if the need arises. The decision is, of course, yours, you are their mother and I am just a concerned uncle." He didn't want to push his luck with her but it might be best. As much as he wanted to believe that they were going to win this battle and send the Fire Tribe back where they came the Obans had defeated them in the passed to battles. As such the last thing he wanted was for them to come here to where noncombatants and healers were waiting to be attacked or taken captive, two options he didn't like even the mere thought of. Given their forces were scouting around the Oban camp he wouldn't put it passed them to be doing the same, scouting around the Tale camp. It was another reason why Jacin was a bit on edge at the moment.

Makani couldn't help but to give a soft laugh when he was told that his sister wasn't the one they needed to worry about, "That's goood to hear, I know that she can drive you crazy at times but I think that she does like you, I mean you are the first woman that she has really been so friendly toward." He said, giving Sin'qua a smile, "She even gave you a nice nickname, Sinny." He chuckled after saying the name, unable to help teasing her a bit since there were times that Eira called her by the pet name that she instantly puffed up and got all prickly like a spitorog. Though thinking about such things, as well as the comparisons made, his mind went for a moment to the Oban that he'd met and called the same thing. Unlike that guy Sin'qua would very well know what he was talking about and wouldn't be too pleased. He was pretty certain it was because of that particular run in that Sin'qua felt the need to keep him close.

Giving a soft sigh he lifted a hand up, waving it in front of his own closed 'fox' eyes and said, "I know that there is still a lot that I miss even with my ability to get around with my magic. It's still pretty well impossible to tell people apart for me so I can't differentiate between the enemy and our allies... it's really a bit of a bother. It's also why I am kept in camp as a healer instead of going out to fight I'm sure." Not that he wanted to fight but if he could were more capable then he might be able to at least be a combat healer. It really was a bother at times but it just went to show that he just had to work harder at developing his abilities.

Glad for the change of topic he said, "Matori, huh?" He gave a thoughtful sound before he said, "I would like to meet her, or one of her kinsmen, though I doubt now is the time to do so. Everyone is so on edge due to the war that I doubt they would have time to meet with me." Especially since a real and true meeting involved him better learning about them by touching people's faces to really know what they looked like. It wasn't something that everyone could deal with, he could only imagine what that bestial warrior Ruelash would think if he asked to do such a thing. It would probably be something akin to petting a wild Ghost of the Mountain, it wouldn't go over well to say the least. Smiling once more he said, "Another time, when things aren't so hectic perhaps. If you think she is weird then it just makes me all that more curious."

Gyuri - Guard
Location: With Viveka and the troupe
Post: 5

Gyuri seemed to relax a bit when Borra first patted and then hugged his arm, finding comfort in it though he doubted that Borra had any idea why he was bothered in the first place. He knew that getting jealous was something that wasn't really appropriate nor was it really all that fair, Borra was free to go after whoever he wanted male or female. Gyuri, being as bad with his words as he was had yet to say anything after all... and Borra really wasn't the 'read between the lines sort'. For the moment he was content though. Not to mention it was impossible to be upset at Borra, he was just too sweet and oblivious, "Sounds nice." He murmured when Borra spoke excited about working with someone who could sing.

Of course Eira seemed to be having fun teasing him, commenting on the Matori men and how handsome they must be. He'd glanced over at her but seeing the way that she was smile he could tell that it was all in good fun, as such he didn't really react much. He supposed until they saw the Matori men there was no real way to see how they stacked up to the women of their race, right? It might be just as Borra said, with none of them being as big as Gyuri himself was. They wouldn't know until they showed up he thought to himself.

"We will see." He finally said, both curious now to see the Matori men as well as a little uncertain, it was a mixed bag of feelings for sure. What he supposed that he should concentrate on was the fact that they were coming to help. The more help the better, perhaps they would be able to finally overcome the Obans this time. The last thing he wanted after all was for Borra to be forced to deal with more horrible things that this war was making innocent people like him face head on. The sooner the war was done the sooner Borra could return to playing around.

Eira - Dancer
Location: With Viveka and her troupe
Post: 5

Eira crossed her arms under her ample chest, head tilting to one side as he looked the Matori woman over, before saying, "I feel that you are probably right, Gyuri. We will see when the rest of those she'd mentioned show up. Until then I suppose having her here to help along with that big creature of hers should still help." She had to admit that she was rather curious as to what all she would be capable of. She had a sword, so obviously she must be strong, and given she'd taken point that spoke of her rank as well. An impressive woman to be certain.

After giving a humming sound she said, "I wonder what the odds are that we might be able to recruit a Matori to the troupe after the war is over with. They are a rare and interesting looking people, if one would join us we would certainly have a step up on the competition." Something that she would most certainly love to have, someone special in her troupe that Lyriala was lacking, it would be grand! She'd rather like an Oban to join as well but given that most of them were rather war mongering at the moment she doubted it would happen... not to mention people might get all up in arms over her having the 'enemy' within her troupe. The way Eira saw it though so long as the war was over then anyone was welcome within her group and her inn. More to think on though when the day came that she could finally get things underway.

Giving the three around her a bright smile she said, "I think it's something we should consider once everything is finally over." She meant to stay optimistic, both in that the war would be over soon and that she would actually be able to get a Matori to join them.

”It sure is!” said Kaalnia. Well, she hadn't said she wasn't single, had she? Not that Kaalnia would have stopped if she had a mate. The newcomer was owed all the appreciation that Kaalnia could muster, and she could muster a lot.

”It'd be so sad if your beauty didn't attract at least two admirers, right? Including myself, of course.” said Kaalnia. She watched as the woman turned to her beast.

”So, does he have a name...?” she asked, before she was interrupted by a fairly beefy alkidike who clearly liked to eat. Kaalnia looked her over appreciatively, though she was a little annoyed at being so blocked. What was the problem with having a little fun?

”Well, you're right about that.” she admitted, her voice dropping to a whisper. ”But now she'll be looking, see. And I'll be looking. Say, what's your name?” she asked Vollerei, noticing the somewhat unattractive scars along her mouth... right next to the gorgeous hair ornaments. ”Like I told the stunning Naria, I'm Kaalnia.”

Hijil – Shifter Guard
Supply tent – with Bhima and her mother

Ath protested, loudly and vigorously, being moved from her comfortable spot at Hijil's back. She was, very much, not happy.

”Er.” Hijil tried to hold the bird still enough to keep it's sharp beak and claws away from the weaponsmith, ”Jahuar.”

It was more accurate than Ast.
