Kill Bill Vol. 1

I must admit, I did enjoy this.
it was a fun ride, and I think I'll watch the second soon.

Alice (198 cool

Since the movie was directed and put together by a surrealist, I was supposed to expect the movie to be out of the ordinary. My expectations were definitely made, and I'm quite impressed with the result. The filmaking is quite unique, especially with the stop-motion. It is still very disturbing in many ways. The only way to watch films like these is to have an open mind. I certainly did, especially with my fascination of the surreal. Overall, it's very well done.

The Illusionist

If you're expecting this to be as quirky and eccentric as The Triplets of Belleville, then sorry. If anything, it's a bit depressing.
It's also a bit slow, but I had no problem with that.
I feel the art is losing is fun style, as well. I mean, there's still some unique looking charaters here and there, but they don't seem as interesting.

It wasn't a bad movie. My problem is, I was thinking that I'd get something like TTOB. Perhaps I should give the creators credit for trying a different genre.
Anywho, I'll give it a 2.8/5. Once again, it wasn't bad, just slightly disappointing.

Kill Bill Vol. 2

Ehh, not as fun as the first.
Kinda wonder what the hell they'll do for the third...

I might give it a try. MIGHT.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I have seen this before. And I must say, it was pretty good.
Which is saying something for me because I'm not a fan of romance or Jim Carrey.

Sin City

I couldn't get through this.
I gave up on it about.. twenty or thirty minutes in.

3:10 to Yuma (2007 version)

Ehh,
I wasn't in the mood for a western that night, I guess.
Or maybe it wasn't even that good. I dunno.

25th Hour

Err, what the hell guys? I thought some of you said this was suppose to be great!
Well, I didn't like it. The acting wasn't very good -- it had its moments at the end, but otherwise? Not anything impressive.
Except the actor (forgot his name) who was Jakob did okay... he's usually good.
The charater development was great. Unfortunely, that was the only decent thing in the whole film.
Also, Spike Lee's thing for showing the same scene over and over again drives me batshit crazy...

Requiem for a Dream

Wow... talk about an amazing movie.
The acting was great. Good charaters too.
But for those who can't handle such dark subjects.... you probably need to proceed this movie with caution.

Bunny and the Bull

First of all, this movie was very artsy-fartsy and pretty to look at.
I'm talking about paper mache (did I spell that right?) and stopmotion here and there.
Otherwise, it's fairly average. But damn that art is so memorable!
So, if you want something pretty to look at, then watch it. If you want something that's actually good... watch something else.

Defendor

Err, it was better than Kick a**, but still not that good. I wanted to explore the main charater some more.... but I feel as if I only got to touch the surface.
And the whole movie just seemed.. not very good? Not absolutely terrible, just below decent. I dunno. But what I do know -- the ending was ******** WEAK.
Which is sad, because if more work was put into this, it could've been alright.

Winter's Bone

Wow, what have I been missing? This was a great film, but for me, the emotional power in this film is so hard to describe. I nearly cried twice, and there were just some very intense moments. The atmosphere and setting is dreary and gloomy and very depressing, and it immediately drew me in. The main character has so much responsibility in helping her family survive, but she's determined and strong-willed. Jennifer Lawrence perfects this role as you see every expression filled with emotion, and she deserved that Oscar-nomination.
Overall, I wouldn't say it is a masterpiece as it does have flaws, but it is a fantastic film and will possibly become one of my favorite movies. It isn't for everyone, but I still highly recommend it to any movie fan.

The Road

For some reason, the post-apocalyspe senery really appeals to my eyes...
Anywho, a pretty solid film. It has tear-jerking moments.
Never really explained why the earth became so ********. But I sort of liked that.
(this is based off a book right?)
I'd give this film a rating of 3/5

I think I've discovered my favourite genre... dark dramas.

Pineapple Express

Dear. God. This is possibly one of the stupidest movies ever, which was what made it so hilarious. XD Seth Rogen and James Franco are at one of their funniest. The plot and story are both quite ridiculous, which I think was supposed to add to the comedy, and the dialogue and script are hilarious. One positive thing to say about the film: I hope Seth Rogen writes more screenplays.

Winter's Bone

I agree with 3Amaranth13. I really like the senery. Kind of reminded me of where I live. It looks like that in the winter in Virginia.
Anywho, perhaps that's why this movie didn't seem dark or phase me at all. I live in an area where, many people live like the main charater. Junk yards, shady charaters, southern dialouge... it's all right at my doorstep.

The acting was fine, the charaters were very real, and the plot was very solid.

To Tear-Ruh: I'm glad you agree with me on the scenery. ^^

The Birdcage

What's up with me and watching comedies lately? I'm not sure. I love this movie, and it's one of those movies that'll make me laugh every time I watch it. Nathan Lane is the star here. He is hilarious as Albert. Robin Williams is also just as hilarious. The characters and script blend together very well. It also has a very good message, which I liked as well.

Overall, this is a very good comedy. I would like to read the play it's based on.

Trust

Or "Internet Is Evil: The Movie".
Heh, okay, maybe that's a bit too much.
Anyway, I can't say I liked the movie.
It was very... Thin.
All of the characters were flat and the victim, the main character, was made too seem like a total dumbass.
It's like they wanted the viewer to think that she had it coming.
Instead of the predator grooming her and gradually gaining her, well, trust and
manipulating her to do whatever he wanted, we got some fairly casual conversations and "i like u" & "o i liek u 2".

It appears what I was afraid of has already happened and people think it's a brilliant masterpiece because of the "message" and whatnot.
I mean, c'mon, people have been informing kids and their parents about them ***** lurking on the web forever now.

Pledge This!

Okay, honestly, I couldn't finish it.
Terribad "comedy" starring Paris Hilton (who seemed to be playing herself the whole time).
If American Pie is your absolute favorite, or if you liked Epic Movie, you might like this.

Monkey Shines

I'd seen it at least twice before, during my wild childhood years.
What can I say?
It was better than I remembered... But I definitely didn't remember the first half being so misleading.

Haute Tension

Not sure what I think about this one.
It was okay for having the twist it did, but...
Eh, I can't really say much about it without spoiling the whole flick. ):

I guess it was "just okay".
