Parents are scary like that. Mine don't seem to like anime at all, they are typical Australian parents. ^^;; My mother calls it "Japanese rubbish" while my father just walks into the next room, and my younger sister is far too engorssed in the latest Dolly magazines to care. X3~
Then again, I don't really watch a lot of anime, only the sort of stuff that I am interested in, or is highly recommended by friends and whatnot. I'd rather read manga, as you can take them anywhere, and... They tend to leave in what anime takes out. (Like all the goodness of CCS, I can't believe how much they took out of the English version! I ended up getting the full series, plus the two movies in Japanese, and felt.. So much better after watching it all. ^^;; )

My parents are too dense. THey walk in and look at the screen which is hopefully showing something decent. Then they shake their heads and go,
"Won't you ever stop watching cartoons?" And then they walk out. And the whole time, I sit there thinking,
There's a reason these "cartoons" are on really late at night during adult showtimes....but yeah, you just keep thinking that they're just cartoons...

My mom's pretty much used to seeing me watch anime although she does ask me everyone once in a while, "Aren't you too old to be watching those Japas?" xd It's funny. She also asks me that when I'm out buying manga.

My dad actually owns some anime. I don't know if you guys ever heard of 'Gigantor', but it's like the first anime ever. He said he watched it all the time when he was young.

Well, the reason we watch anime is usually because we love the story, plots, or just the pretty art. But that's also the difference that most parents don't understand. Anime has a story. Most "cartoons" do not. Turn on cartoon network and shows like Dexter, Powerpuff Girls, and other non-anime cartoons are a bunch of random events for humor. They're fun to watch and all and I do like them, but yeah..... xp
