"I'm not snapping at anyone." Setting down his fork on the plate he steepled his fingers in front of himself, taking on that contemplative look. "Your horse thing will be fine...besides you rarely do business here anyway." But a light nod at the mention of Zykariel as he was building up a knowledge file in his head on Nadai. He'd already decided that he didn't like him. Leaning back in his chair once more he took to his food again. "Fair enough."

He still looked irritated though. She frowned at him and caught Kelligrin before he could tug some of the books on the table across the room down on himself. Plopping the baby in his father's lap, she perched on his desk as he ate. "It's easier to do it at Piper's but the drow don't like going onto D'vinn land." Pausing a moment, she swiped half of his biscuit and dipped it into the casserole, eating it slowly. "What's the matter, Raven? You're still annoyed."

A slight blink as his thoughts were put off track some as the baby was plopped in his lap and he pet at his son's hair for a moment before going back to his food, letting both Zahara and Kelligrin pick off his plate as they wanted to. "There's always the market. That's where you used to do it." Offering solutions in that accomodating way that he always did before looking to her more pointedly as he munched. "You know how I feel about people I don't know being around here."

"I just have to be careful. Last time there was an issue with one of the males and things didn't turn out so well. I'd feel better if I had someone with me but I'm sure Nadai would be willing to stand out there while I handled business." Reaching into the drawer of the desk, she extracted one of her books and began flipping through it, marking down the payment Nadai owed her for the poultice. She'd settle it with him when she went to visit him later. "Does that mean you'd be adverse to Zykariel being trained by him?"
"Daddy, do the dots!" Squirming his way off his father's lap and waiting expectantly.

And now she was talking about partnering up with this Nadai in some sense to feel safe. Wasn't it his job to protect her? It surely wasn't Nadai's. Thus a frown at that little nugget of information. Then a raise of an eyebrow at her mentioning Zykariel, racing, and Nadai being thrown into the mix. That elf just had to be a racer too, didn't he?" Attention was directed to his son and moment and a few runic gestures gave the boy more little energy made fireflies to chase. Well...he knew that Zahara knew he had been eavesdropping on the conversation in the kitchen, so no point in hiding his knowledge. "It's racing, so it doesn't please me initially...but it bothers me more that I know nothing about him. You expect me to simply let my first born just pal around with him?" Or Zahara for that matter.

"Racers are part of my clientele, Sevilin. You know that much." She had already anticipated his reaction to the knowledge and waited patiently while their son scampered and giggled, chasing the energy sparks. It was good for his coordination and small motor skills. "No, I don't. I would have liked you to come out and eat with us so you could meet him. I must admit I don't understand your reluctance in that." Crossing her legs, she rested one boot on the edge of his chair right near his thigh and studied him closely, ignoring the way her skirt split. Nothing but her leg was revealed and he was her husband anyway. "Do you want to come with us when we go up to Vesendar later this week? I need to check on Jin, his nightmare, and Zykariel was going to tag along."

His reluctance? More of like his need to behave and not tear apart the elf that was probably more than half his own age, shared various things in common with his wife, knew his wife from younger days, wandered onto his property without warrant, wanted to teach his son racer tricks and was in Sevilin's eyes every bit a rival as one man could be to another...even if his ring was on Zahara's hand and hers on his. With a sigh he rested his hand on her knee, rubbing lightly and affectionately at her leg out of the need to touch her. "You know how I feel about Vesendar." Which he would gladly raze with the first offense they made...he was still bitter with them. And yet he gave a surrendering sigh. "Suppose it would be the nice thing to do, hm?"

Watching him closely, she sighed softly, both because his touch felt quite nice and also because he could be so difficult. Sevilin was very much set in his ways when it came to such things. "Which is why I expected you to say no." And now he was trying to make nice which she found amusing and quite sweet. "Only if you want to, Sevilin. I'm fairly sure Nadai will be back around this way if Zykariel wants to be trained by him. And I can always invite him to dinner again. He adores my cooking. Told me it was the best he ever had." Quite proud of that comment, yes she was.

While she was proud, he was not pleased in any manner. Just another mark in rival ways to him. He'd admit it was strange...he'd never felt...well, territorial...over a woman before. And frankly he'd appreciated if Nadai never showed up again...but had the feeling that wasn't in his control. So he'd just have to be over bearing and watchful of the young elf when he was around. Maybe runically torment him accidentilly on purpose. Thus an affirming noise to things. "Just remind him that I don't appreciate unannounced visits."

He was rather grumpy over the fact that Nadai found out where he lived, wasn't he? It wasn't unlike him per se but it wasn't particularly like him either. Zahara swore that sometimes she knew him no better than she had when she'd first met him all those years ago. Resting her hand over his, she swiped a bit of gravy off his plate with her finger and painted his lips with it then leaned forward and stole a gravy-flavored kiss. Not the most romantic but he seemed so annoyed she thought it might help his disposition. "Would you prefer he send a letter beforehand? It might force him to pass on knowledge of our home."

Frankly he was indeed shoved off guard by her kiss and wore that slightly surprised and baffled look on his face for a few seconds before he seemed to regain his composure, though sure enough less ‘grumpy’ than before. Though he did give another little frown that could often be found on Zykariel when he was being proven wrong…same thing was happening to Sevilin right now. “Just let him know that if he ends up being accosted when he shows up…I’m no responsible for his hurt feels or broken limbs or whatever.”

She laughed at him for a moment when he gave her that look and merely tangled her fingers in his hair for a minute or two. He looked so much like a pouty little boy, she plopped a kiss on his nose. "Big man protecting what belongs to his, hmm? I'll be sure to warn him we have a beast living within. I can't really complain though. Feeling safe is a worthwhile tradeoff."

"I only got what I wanted in life by stepping up and taking it, didn't I? I'm not going to simply have people trod all over it." Rolling his eyes slightly at her playing comments though he did get that lopsided grin of his at her at her mentioning of feeling safe. That was his job after all. Besides...she was pregnant and that made him extra watchful of her as always. "You like it when I assert myself anyway."

That grin pretty much sealed it. She glanced over his shoulder to make sure that Kelligrin was still happily occupied and then slid easily into his lap, knees on either side of his thighs. That was her happy Sevilin and she was determined to make him stay that way. "Of course I do. Spineless, yes-men were part of the past. I want something different. Besides, you look so sexy when you put your foot down even if I'm snapping at you the whole time."

He adjusted to her new position, resting his hands on the tops of her thighs, letting his thumbs stroke in small circles. A chuckle though at her compliments that he had never really taken to or understand all the way but if it made her happy to think such ways then he’d not contradict her. “Have to keep you down off that pedestal of yours don’t I? Can’t do that and be accommodating at the same time.”
