If I miss this level up but seek out and beat one or more people that do get leveled up in fights would I get a level up as a result?

You'd have to talk to a teacher about it beforehand. They control whether you level or not and what you have to do to get that level up.

I'll check the sound style again tomorrow. In the past couple weeks I've had to check styles at least 4 or 5 times so I'm taking a breather before tackling it again.

Well, I can see kato's point of view. But if you look at it that way, then you could carry around a dagger of any length so long as it can be thrown haha
