Family hands yes... Into the hands of a GFFA Sniper 100+ years after the battle of Endor who probably came from a family of farmers and had to learn to shoot to survive.
Probably not.
How many Scoped Geweher 98 Sniper rifles do you see being used by American Snipers in Iraq?

I just say that because who in their right mind will use a Xerrol in combat when its so expensive to operate? How much did a gas cartridge for that thing cost anyway? A Thousand credits apiece or something. Thats two hundred credits per trigger pull on the weapon! Dear God!

Well, on the Geweher 98s, why would they use them. they're the American military.
If they gave one soldier in the miliary a weapon outside the standard issue, they'd have to open the field up to all soldiers.
And this isn't a soldier sniper we're talking about. its a merc. He can use whatever the hell he pleases, not being dictated by superior officers that he must use a weapon he trained with in boot camp.

Maybe if you had presented some other options, he'd be interested.

Or he could use one, and be a hella damn good shot.
But the point is moot, since he is selecing something different anyway. I mean, Its like Neb using the Kapella. It may be three thousand years old, but overhauls of greater magnitude have been known to happen in the guild.

Well he could use an Blastech E-17, or a heavily modified Blastech A280. Or better yet, a modified and scoped T-21!

Yeah... Heck you could just use a scoped ARC-9965. There are tons of options, though the Verpine Sniper Rifle is a really good choice because of its variable uses. You can fire almost anything out of that barrel, grenades, detonators, stun darts, kinetic energy rounds... You name it, and because of its design the weapon has to be really really quiet.

Unfortunately, it breaks easily. Very easily. It can't take the beating an Infantry Rifle can.

Of course if a sniper is in a situation where he has to use his rifle like a blundgeon he's not a very good sniper.
