Awww, I'm sad now, I missed a discussion on insanity vs. sanity. Tegral was making good points too. You did forget one form of insanity though, you were focused on insanity in terms of dillusion and completely left out a few of the other forms, like my favorite type of lunatic, the sociopath. Some few are in fact legally insane but capable of functioning and reasoning normally and sometimes better than most. However their perception of right and wrong or the purpose of society is warped for lack of a better word. Of course this is my opinion much like anything posted by someone is theirs. Now what I'm curious too is whether or not most people would consider someone that had mental disorders and was a sociopath in terms of a different sense of right and wrong and an utter hate for society, insane. I'm a psych major so I'm just wondering.

Ummm, yes, I think I would consider someone like that insane. Not just because of their utter hate for society, because we all hate the world we live in to one degree or another what ever God up there knows I sure as hell hate this place and all it's people, nor their preception of right or wrong, because we're all brought up differently and we are all taught different standards to live by. But rather I think it's their warped perception of the world. It's because of this warped scence of realization that may cause them to deviate from standard liveing of "normal" and "sane" people and into a more sheltered or secluded life style. Sane is simply the norm of the world. So if it's the mass norm to walk around quacking like a duck and you walk in and moo like a cow, people are going to think you weird...if you continue to do it, believeing you're in the right and they're in the wrong, then you could be considered insane. You can still function as a member of society, but according to the mass norm you are considered insane, because you do not follow the...I'm hesitant to say trend, but it seems like the best word to describe what I'm talking about...trend and feel that you are in the right while THEY are the crazy ones for walking around quacking like ducks.
I don't know if any of that made any sence but I hoped I helped you, to some degree.
