Genin - D-Rank
Chuunin - C-Rank
Anbu - C-Rank
Special Jounin - C/B-Rank
Jounin - B/A-Rank
Kage - A/S-Rank

Sannin don't actually exist. =/ They're just Jounin who don't wear their headbands because they have special privileges. Sannin are technically for Konohagakure only if you're talking Canon. Sannin are what you call the Hokage's Student's or His/Her personal squad.
ANBU is an organization which exists only in Konohagakure. It is their "Secret Services".
Special Jounin are Chuunin who might not exactly reach Jounin standards or statistics yet, but they obtain all the privileges a Regular Jounin has and are respected as a Regular Jounin because they did some great feat or something of the sort.

If you don't believe me you can read EVERY. SINGLE. NARUTO WIKI/Fact page out there and it should tell you the same thing. Or you can just go back and read the manga.
Uhm, ok. First of all chill. You need to watch your mouth and stop with the attitude, I don't care if you are just joking. Obviously you don't come off as joking and need to stop trying to be so clever or funny.
Academy Students = E-Rank
Genin = D-Rank or C-Rank
Chunnin = C-Rank or B-Rank
Jounin = A-Rank or S-Rank
Kage = S-Rank
That's how the show explains mission ranks and which Rank can take what missions. ((Though it states Jounin only take A-Rank, Kakashi has been dealt S-Rank before.))
Sannin - I've been over this. Azn is right, it's simply a title. And just for convenience sake we are using it as a Rank.
ANBU - Dude....You do know that every village has ANBU right? They are the arms and legs of the Kage, they remain directly under control of the Kage for missions or tasks. They have multiple purposes and on top of that some villages have unique branches.
For Example Konoha has Root.
Kiri has the Oinin. ((Which canon-wise has been stated to be unique to Kiri.))
Special Jounin - Shiggy is right on this one.
In general, we're trying to do this so that it's convenient. We try to stay as close to cannon as possible, but that's not possible in a RP. Besides who's to say they haven't changed what entails a rank since Cannon. Since this is in the future, rules and such do not stay the same forever they adjust and adapt.
