"Well, as soon as our oldest is home, we'll talk to him about it then. see what he'd prefer. but in the mean time, I'm going to get some work done, and you two can sit here and relax. If you need anything, just ask, I'll get something."

And he went down to the basement, and started discussing the methods for fever reduction, and other methods to prevent or strengthen against disease or poisons. Not to mention he was going to pay a visit to their imprisoned thing and see what information he could glean out of it.

She rolled her eyes. So much for doing what he was suppoed to do for the child's benifit...well guessed it was up to her then to make sure the child knew how things were and how things weren't. Setting him on the bed across from her she held up her hands to him. "Dhairiss, hold up your hands like this for mommy, okay?" He trusted her, there should be no issue...though he may be a little young and it could be stressful...but she had to do something...

"I told you, she wasn't playing hard to get. It's that whole stuipd 'I'm above everyone else' crap coming around to bite me again. You know I'm so sick of it." Crossing his arms over his chest in irritated stiffness, eyes going steely with his agiatation. "I wouldn't call it a date...more of the 'I don't know why me' conversation. Which ended badly and then I brought her back to school and then she told me she wanted me to ask her to go do something sometime soon again then promptly fled." He was starting to not want to even go to school anymore...it was too much social statud pressure.

"That's okay, he's still tired and we'll just put him back down." He petted at his daughter's hair, comforting her before picking her up with his other arm and wandering back to the nursery. Gently he laid Kel down before turning his attention back to his youngest daughter as he walked out. All of it this time. "I'm just fine. When have I not beed? Daddy's eyes are just a little funny looking and she didn't want you to be scared." Which is why his bangs were more or less messy in his eyes as well right now. "We're all just fine and there's no reason to worry. All your bonds felt okay, right?"

Zykariel's eyebrow rose and he watched his friend, who was quite agitated by this girl, go off on a full blown rant about her. "Okay, so she blew you off but not quite?" Shaking his head. "Kaelin is a hard nut to crack, Khai. She's...not like other girls. She's really very quiet and secretive. No one knows very much about her because she doesn't share. Or maybe she's just scared. You're the first guy she's even been willing to consider anything with though I don't know exactly what that means. I don't think it's because of your name, though." Sighing and crossing his arms. "Do you like her enough to put up with that kind of crap? Or would you rather move on and find someone else who doesn't play those kinds of games?"

"There were a couple times that I thought you were really hurt. Kariel and Faate made my head hurt." She put her hands on her father's cheeks and gently moved his hair out of his eyes so she could see, then nodded and let them fall once more. "Mama's still tired, too?" Because she'd seen the still form of her mother on the bed and was assuming she was in reverie. "How come they got so upset right before Broog ran? I was real scared then but he couldn't tell me nothing..." Sniffling and rubbing at her own eyes. " 'Sides Daddy. I worry about you 'cause I love you. You knows that right?"

"We had the whole 'who you are' conversation." It had....well he wasn't sure if it had gone well or not anymore. It just seemed to jump the fence back and forth when he replayed it in his head. "I don't think I want to find anyone else...I have better things to do than try to play you and get into the girl game. Those are your territory I can stick to my studies." Despite that all his life really being before he started to go to school. That and managing his friend's career. "Bring just friends isn't a bad thing..." This so sucked.

She surprised him with how unafraid she was being seeing as his eyes still looked pretty bad, but not as bad as they had looked the day prior. "Yeah she needs her rest. She was going a lot of healing and such. Gotta get those energy levels back up." Giving her a squeeze of a hug as the guilt of her lacking attention was sinking in. "I know, and I love you too. And everyone was just really scared, Kel was real sick looking and the like."

"Women are the most complicated creatures you will ever encounter in the entire span of your life, Malikhai."

walking outside and noting both boys.

"However, there are certain things you have overlooked that might be a bit more revealing. She's by no means interested in your name. or she would have been much more social at the tournament, or at school. Her parents haven't contacted us, we don't even know her last name. which should give off the signal that one of two things is happening. Her parents don't know about her seeing you in any condition, or her parents don't think she's good enough."

glancing between both boys.

"But, since I am your father, and this girl is important enough for you, and I can tell because I know the look wether you do or not, I do want to meet her parents. and we have two options for that. I can go to the school and get her records and find out where she lives and what her name is, or you can tell me what her last name is and I can find her on my own time."

Girl troubles already and he'd hardly even begun. "You're giving up too easily, Khai. If you like her, ask her out again like she requested and see what happens. If something went awry before, she'd naturally be more cautious, right? You don't know what kind of history you are dealing with here. And you don't have a reputation that really precedes you int his arena either like I do. Kaelin would run from me before even considering a date." Shaking his head and then chuckling as Malik showed up. "Being friends isn't a bad thing either. My parents were lovers and then friends but I hear it's much better to do it the other way around."

Lyssie was far too comfortable with knowing that her father was in holding distance and all in one piece to be shocked over blood in his eyes. She'd seen him bleed from strange places before though her mother had always been quick to remove her and her little brother from the room. It seemed like she never really got to see anything. Wrinkling her nose, she shook her head. "He's all better lookin' now. He got so mad at me when I woke him up..." Wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him tightly. "What 'bout sissy? Did she look real bad too?"

"I said I was going to go out with her again didn't I? Though I have no idea what or where. I do know it's not a good idea to put her around horses, that's for sure." Oh great dad was about now and in the know as well. "Well, I don't know her last name Dad, so I can't help you. If you want to dig through records, be my guest." That clipped tone of his that spoke of his irritation and more often than not, no one escaped from being put under those mannerisms. And when Kaelin found that little record searching thing, and she would because women always did, he had no doubt it was going to drop the guillotine on his outstretched neck. A raise of an eyebrow at his friend. "Your parents were also mortal enemies."

He patted the girl on the back lightly, giving her the comfort and attention that she wanted and deserved. "No she looks fine. Everyone looks fine now, we all still feel a little bad but we're otherwise okay. Since you're the completely healthy one, you're gonna have to look out for the rest of us. You think you can do that?"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 24, 2008 8:47 pm

A slight chuckle and a clap on the shoulder of his son.

"come now, I'm not that bad. but I do want to know certain things about her and her parents. I'll be subtle. but for now, come on inside, relax some, and get something to eat. and that goes for both of you."

motioning for them both to get inside.

"Dhairiss is doing much better, as is Kelligrin. so I imagine the Inthara house will be going back soon in due time. but feel free to plot and scheme about this girl while your around."

"And then you punctuated it with 'Maybe being friends wouldn't be so bad' which tells me that you aren't going to seriously try anything with her now. I'm just trying to clarify your confusing signals." His uncle got a shrug. "She's never used it around me." Chuckling at his friend for a moment, he wrapped an arm around his neck and squeezed. "And now they're the best of lovers so that makes things even brighter for you."

"Is that why you lefted me back with Broog? So I could take care of all of you now?" Well, she might just be able to forgive her parents if that was the reason. Nodding solemnly, she took her father's cheeks in her hands and plopped a Lyssie kiss on his mouth. "I'll take the best care of you ever! You need soup and the icky stuff Mommy puts down your throat and a warm blanket and pillow and you'll be all better. Kay?"

"Subtly is appreciated however. Social things are hard enough as it is being the high born kid." He struggled lightly as his friend mor eor less put him in a headlock as they made their way onward with his father in tow. Still walking awkwardly in his friend's hold he angled his eyes to his father. "Aw shame, Zykariel can't poke fun at hime twenty-four seven anymore. But good to know the little dudes are doing better." Rolling his eyes at his friend before trying to wrestle out of the hold he was in. "Not my fault she's being odd about things. And your parents scare me in certain capacities too."

"That's right, someone has to take care of us all for doing stupid grown up things that gets us hurt. And since you're the best off, that means you." Grinning at her childish ways and confidence in her abilities. "All that will make me feel better hm? What about everyone else, is that what they need too?"

It was amusing the way they were acting once again. He let his friend attempt to fight him off and only released him when they stepped inside the dining room. Settling in, he ordered his plate of food and happily dug in. "I don't poke fun at him. I love him in my own way." Chewing his food, he laughed. "The way they chase each other with knives? Or the way they sometimes get a little too friendly in the hallway? Or is the way my dad yanks you out of bed in the morning?" He just didn't understand the way things worked in the Inthara house.

She nodded happily and twisted a finger through one of her pigtails and nuzzled him. "Yup. That's all they need, Daddy. Soup and blanket and pillow and that nasty stuff too." Laying her head down on his shoulder, she suddenly glanced up. "Mommy! You feelin' better, too?"

She patted Kelligrin on the back lightly. "Yes, I am." Walking up to her husband and daughter, she tucked a strand of silvery hair behind her ear and tapped her nose. "We all are. Even Kelligrin."

He glanced up and reached out tugging on his sister's hand. "Issie."

"I'm good at subtle."

before letting the boys be boys, going back upstairs to his wife and youngest. he knew what she was doing, and probably better for it. irrefutable proof and he trusted her far more than he trusted him at the present time...though he did stop a second to knock on Fianna's door adn let her know a meal was ready for her.

Then he moved into the room, and decided to take a seat and wait and see the outcome of the communion.

"Yeah yeah, love me in your own way. It's appreciated." Fixing his hair some as it had gotten all mussed by their little bout for a moment. Crossing his arms, he watching his friend go to the second favorite activity after racing: eating. "You haven't seen anything until you've walked in on my parents doing...their thing. That's a mistake I'm never making ever every again...even if the memory is stuck in my head forever, wrinkling his nose at it. "But honestly, you'll be back the day after and it will be just like you never left."

"Well then, we'll have to make sure to get plenty of those won't we? I'm sure we have enough here or at home for you to keep everyone healty and I'm sure mommy will tell you which icky stuff to use." Shaking his head lightly and patting at her back again as she rested her head on his shoulder, turning to his wife at the mention on her. "Lyssie is going to take care of us, so even you can rest. Isn't that sweet of her?"

There was only but so much that she could show the child, but at the same time as feelings had been picked and fluttered she had learned quite a lot from the little elf about his time away as well. Not sure if it at all was sufficent proof, but only time could tell. Short session, but there wasn't much for the little elf to trigger on. If it did anything, it left him looking all weary...she wasn't as nearly as effected as him and she just pulled him to her, hugging him as he clung to her again. Not too happy.

She had made her way downstairs, merely doing so because she knew that she had to eat or she was going to make herself sick and then that would be foolish on her part. Which meant she was met by teenage boys when she reached the dining room. "And here I thought knife chasing was merely stereotypical."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 9:59 am

Zykariel merely laughed. Malikhai thought his parents were scary? There was a reason his parents' door was always runed. They'd learned when he was small how little elves liked to interrupt their parents in the dead of night. He still wasn't sure which of them was more traumatized. Grinning at Fianna, he took another bite. "Nah, old drow stereotypical maybe but most of my friend's parents don't do that anymore. He just irritates her when she's in the kitchen and that's usually what she has in her hand. She shows her displeasure with kitchen instruments. It's kind of funny, actually."

"Mommy always says that you get better when you're in your own bed. I wanna go home, Daddy." Petting her brother's hair as she was brought closer and reaching out for him.

"Very. And exactly what we need too." She brought Kelligrin slightly closer but refused to let the little girl hold him. He was too heavy for her and it wouldn't be a good idea. She did let the two embrace and then turned. "Lyssie, did you eat yet? Kelligrin's quite hungry."

"Nope. But my tummy hasn't talked to me yet." Glancing down at her father again and moving his hair. "Daddy's tummy hasn't talked neither, has it? But he needs soup. I'll order it." Glancing down at the ground and scrambling the way children did when they wanted to be put down so they could scamper off.

"A mother is always creative when it comes to things she needs to do. If that involved showing displeasure with kitchen instruments, then so be it." Giving a light chuckle, being around the younger elves always did make things a tad less stressful them being so carefree themselves. "I see you two are feeling better. Am I going to be seeing more of you in Andal?"

"Your mother also doesn't care if you're part of the family or not. I've been popped with enough wooden spoons from her to start thinking she's my own mother." Chuckling lightly before waltzing over to his grandmother and taking her by the hand, escorting her to her chair where he pulled out her chair for her as she sat. "She did stab Sevilin in the hand once, it was kinda funny. She didn't do it on purpose though."

"We'll go home soon enough, don't you worry." Letting her pet and love on her little brother as she wanted while also giving her her own attention. Apparently Zahara was quite ready to go home as well. But a grin and shake of his head as she rated him out. "Going to make me eat like your mother does? I'll have to watch out for you then. But I suppose if the nurse orders soup then I have to follow orders." Setting the girl down and watching her scamper off, turning a look back to his wife. "Seems you're not the only one with an inherent need to provide for everyone."
